NototerrorismIntheUK · 03/10/2025 15:15

The police and others have called out in the hope that there will be no pro Palestine marches tomorrow. They are stretched and say it will divert resources from trying to protect the Jewish people following the terrorist attack yesterday.

I agree. No march tomorrow AIBU?

"From the river to the sea" was actually a phrase originally coined by Netanyahu himself - it's only when Palestine supporters started using it that it became an issue and suddenly meant death to all Jews... Similarly, "intifada" just means uprising in Arabic. Heck, if I lived in a place like Gaza where occupiers banned things like pasta, weddings dresses, coriander and jam, just for fun, or where my people were routinely expelled from their homes, thrown into jail for years without charge or trial (incl. children) or downright killed, like in the West Bank (where there is no Hamas!!!), I'd want to rise up too.

Its really telling how many people don't use Instagram on here; if they did they could see the genocide being live streamed, every day. But no, let's read the Daily Mail instead.

72 years this injustice has gone on for. So, when I'm not working, I will march. I will protest. Not because I don't care about Jews, but because I believe Palestinians have the right to self determination and, more rudimentary, access to aid and medical care. Because the more war crimes Israel commits, the more conflation between anti-Zionism and antisemitism arises and the less safe Jews will feel, which is sad and wrong.

Charming.

'Well I haven't seen ... blah blah blah' is the excuse for those who want to remain ignorant and leave their blinkers on.There is no pro- Israeli ... yes there bloody well is!
Again, right to peaceful protest - though why anyone would want to march FOR the actions of the genocidal Israeli government outside of Israel is beyond me.

I think op that we just have to accept, that this country has many, many, many, vile, disgusting human beings in it. Once you can spot them, you can stop paying them mind. Ignore them. It’s the only decent thing to do.

mamagogo1 · 03/10/2025 16:10

You can not agree with terrorism here in the U.K. and protest peacefully against genocide. We need to stop the genocide. I abhor violence on both sides

Basically this

Sorry if link didn't work, but more than half of muslims do not support Hamas so please stop attacking the majority of us who are peaceful.

JaneEyre40 · 03/10/2025 16:11

ThatCyanCat · 03/10/2025 16:02

If they gave a shit about the Gazans, they'd call upon Hamas to accept the peace plan. I don't think I've seen a single sign calling for that.

You think Tony Blair should be in charge of governing Palestine?

HappyGolmore2 · 03/10/2025 16:11

People who want to shut down freedom of speech because they don't like that speech ( I'm not talking about hate speech) should be treated with the utmost suspicion.

miserableandworried · 03/10/2025 16:11

What do these marches actually accomplish?

Naddd · 03/10/2025 16:12

NototerrorismIntheUK · 03/10/2025 15:22

Not even a pause at all? No self reflection? I walked past one before and it was all chanting of rally songs for Palestinian like free Palestine and globalise the intifada. No mention of getting rid of the terrorists or singing about freeing the hostages though. Not Jewish but it felt intense

You don't mind the thousands of Palestinian hostages though? The children held without charge? Selective outrage

clipboardz · 03/10/2025 16:12

If they gave a shit about "genocide" they'd be marching against Syria, Yemen, or Boko Haram.

They aren't as fashionable

Naddd · 03/10/2025 16:12

clipboardz · 03/10/2025 16:01

Using the tragic murder of a Jewish person to try and besmirch the actions of those standing up to genocide is gross.

Everyone sees you

Everyone sees you

kiwiane · 03/10/2025 16:13

So it’s okay to starve people in Gaza because there’s been an attack in Manchester? Surely all decent people of any faith would want to relieve the massive suffering of the Palestinian people.

We are not pro Hamas. Even in right wing newspapers you can see the majority of muslims reject terrorism and Hamas - please do not tar us all with the same brush. I condemn the attack on those poor people in the synagogue yesterday as do most muslims but Islamophobia is not the answer. Educate yourself and stop the bigotry

www.express.co.uk/news/uk/1885871/british-muslims-support-hamas-israel-war

If only 44% of skittles in a bag were going to poison you, how many would you be comfortable with eating?
And would your discomfort be bigotry, phobia, or self preservation?

Teacaketravesty · 03/10/2025 16:13

PreciousTatas · 03/10/2025 15:18

Anyone who attends one tomorrow will be showing themselves up as a nasty piece of work. No excuses anymore, even for the useful idiots.

Appalling that one went ahead in Manchester hours after the attack it's ilk had made inevitable.

Also appalled to read this. I feel so sad and frightened (not Jewish, not directly frightened but still, fear is what I’m feeling) - what have we become?

TaupeFinch · 03/10/2025 16:14

I think there is a need to seperate these things. Israel is a country and Judaism is a religion. What Israel are doing in Palestine is a genocide and it's ok to protest that. At the same time, it's ok to feel that the attack on a synagogue is an absolute tradgedy and shouldn't have happened. I worry that relating the two, could suggest that all Jews support Israel the two are inextricably linked which they're not.

Naddd · 03/10/2025 16:14

AzurePanda · 03/10/2025 15:58

Let them march, it shows them up for what they are. The majority of British people will be sickened by it.

No the majority are sickened by genocide

It is a minority and I would recognise the majority are decent

Absolutely 🎯

Longtimelurkerfinallyposts · 03/10/2025 16:15

Palestine solidarity demos have continued happening in Glasgow and across Scotland, especially in light of the Israeli forces' violent attacks on and eventual interception of the global Samud flotilla (and kidnapping of activists) which was an attempt to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza.

There's absolutely no contradiction between being opposed to/ critical of the ongoing genocide being carried out against Palestinian people, and being opposed to/ critical of anti-semitic attacks being carried out against Jewish people. The root cause of both is racial hatred and prejudice.

I note that only three people were actually killed in Manchester, and only one of these was killed by the perpetrator of the attack. Many thousands of people have been deliberately killed by the IDF in Palestine, many of them children (disproportionately targeted, along with health workers and journalists), and many more are currently starving, with barely any access to shelter, clean water, medical facilities, education etc etc.

If you're not outraged about this, you're part of the problem. Pretty much every Jewish person I know has been heavily involved in campaigning against the actions of the Israeli state, and for the rights of the Palestinian people. Some of them have been labelled as 'anti-semitic' and 'terrorist' by the UK police for doing so.

Tryingtodiet · 03/10/2025 16:15

HappyGolmore2 · 03/10/2025 15:24

There's a genocide happening. People have the right to express there feelings about that, regardless of what else is going on in the world.
It is possible to abhor both the murders in Manchester and the genocide happening in Gaza, simultaneously.

Completely agree

Paganpentacle · 03/10/2025 16:15

clipboardz · 03/10/2025 16:04

You can disagree with the murder of Jews and the murder of Palestinians...

No one has said otherwise, people are asking for compassion and empathy.

Seems if you have compassion and empathy for the people of Gaza then you're anti-semtic ...

clipboardz · 03/10/2025 16:16

Well that's ok then

March next week, I absolutely support the freedom to march and do not want a ban. Just give it a few days.
