Please no pro Palestine marches tomorrow

NototerrorismIntheUK · 03/10/2025 15:15

The police and others have called out in the hope that there will be no pro Palestine marches tomorrow. They are stretched and say it will divert resources from trying to protect the Jewish people following the terrorist attack yesterday.

I agree. No march tomorrow AIBU?

This thread is unbelievable. So opposing a genocide isn’t allowed out of respect for a terrorist attack? Opposing genocide IS opposing violence. Many marching and protesting are Jewish themselves, I know many of them. I despair at this country, so brainwashed.

Livelovebehappy · 03/10/2025 22:02

But if the UK have now called for recognition of a Palestinian state, weapons not being sold and a peace deal being discussed as we speak, what exactly do the people on the marches want? Don’t look back, look forward.

The UK is still supplying arms and weapons components to Israel for use in Gaza. Have a look at the Campaign against the Arms Trade website for more details.

Nestingbirds · 03/10/2025 22:10

Hamas started this war.
Hamas have deserted their own people and left them to die
Hamas must now agree to peace.

sunflower1022 · 03/10/2025 22:11

Anyone remember the Bibas Family?

Or do they not count because they were Jewish?

Hamas didn’t start the war. Fact check yourself before posting.

It still doesn’t make killing children and babies ok.

Hamas started this latest war, they absolutely did.

Totally agree.

Babies and children on both sides have died. Sadly.

Mumsnet censorship on this issue is appalling too. If your ‘poll’ favours the Daily Express worldview it’s a sign of how much your audience has narrowed in demographics. Mumsnet, you’re becoming an irrelevance.

Livelovebehappy · 03/10/2025 22:13

DrPrunesqualer · 03/10/2025 22:07

What’s happening in Gaza has nothing to do with British or any Jewish people

Making a link between these will breed hate and politicians should be ashamed of themselves for doing so

Of course it has everything to do with what happened yesterday. If the current situation in Gaza wasn’t happening, do you think yesterday’s attack would have occurred? Of course it wouldn’t. It happened because people are determined to bring the war happening there, to the UK.

Oh yes so true. Very ignorant from the moderators.

Bloody hell this thread is so utterly depressing. I thought that the posters on MN were supposed to be intelligent women. Some of the comments here are straight out of a Daily Mail editorial, with the usual pathetic tropes towards anyone vaguely to the Left.

Justanordinarywoman · 03/10/2025 22:16

Look up 1917 and the Balfour Declaration. Look up 1948 and the nakba. Learn some history. Jesus wept.

pumpkinscake · 03/10/2025 22:17

I am vehemently opposed to anti semitism. I am also vehemently opposed to genocide.

Tbh, the demographic on MN doesn’t reflect real life. It’s an echo chamber for the left generally, but maybe not as much as it used to be.

Bollocks

Nestingbirds · 03/10/2025 22:18

The good news I am sure everyone will agree is that Hamas have not rejected the peace plan. There is still hope.

So let’s celebrate that small mercy and pray people will do the right thing in this country too, come tomorrow. I have faith that we have decent people in this country that understand that the British people have nothing at all to do with the war, and are completely innocent.

DaringlyDizzy · 03/10/2025 22:18

Why are people too thick to not see how conflating ISRAEL with JEWS is in itself anti-semitic? Zionism is a political movement.

You can care about every single jew out there and be against zionism and wish for a free palestine??

Crikey, think half of Mumsnet would pass out to realise that the group I attend the rallies with are themselves, jewish.

Ah yes, the usual ‘you don’t agree with me so you are a Daily Mail reading facist etc’

Grow up.

The UN says it is a genocide. The International Association of Genocide Scholars say it is. Explain to me exactly why you think it is NOT a genocide. I’d be very interested.

TalkToTheHand123 · 03/10/2025 22:19

Protests about non British interests should be banned and those who continue should be arrested.

Anactor · 03/10/2025 22:20

pumpkinscake · 03/10/2025 22:09

I am not protesting against Judaism, I am protesting against Israel. When Israel stops the slaughter, I will stop the protests. Why would a UK Jewish person object to protests against genocide in Israel, unless they support it?

And there we have it. Any UK Jewish person who doesn’t support your protests is supporting ‘genocide’.

Does that make them a legitimate target in your eyes? Is your mask slipping a bit?
