Please no pro Palestine marches tomorrow

1000 replies

NototerrorismIntheUK · 03/10/2025 15:15

The police and others have called out in the hope that there will be no pro Palestine marches tomorrow. They are stretched and say it will divert resources from trying to protect the Jewish people following the terrorist attack yesterday.

I agree. No march tomorrow AIBU?

Do you mean because of the deal @DrPrunesqualer? Do you have a view on what you’d like to happen?

CrossChecking · 03/10/2025 17:14

Really? My friend is very heavily involved in protests and aid work for Gaza and has been to Gaza on a few occasions. He said that he was treated with kindness and generosity, people were eager to share their cooking and their stories. The people I know who went to the West Bank say that the worst people they met were the IDF. They only had lovely things to say about Palestinians, they had no bad interactions with them.

I'd be interested to know what you are basing your comments on, your own hatred of Palestinians maybe?

I don’t hate anyone.

DrPrunesqualer · 03/10/2025 17:21

ThatGladTiger · 03/10/2025 17:18

Zack Polanski, leader of the Green Party and a prominent Jew has himself come out and called for solidarity. Whilst bombs are being dropped on children, a genocide is happening and Israel is being funded by the government everyone has a right to march.

They are two separate issues.

Exactly !

@Justagirl95 I'm on the app, it's a real pain in the arse to scroll back and find comments.

Oh dear. Well have a go, its only a bit of scrolling.

If you're going to make wild accusations like

You said only one person died yesterday which was nothing compared to deaths in Gaza. So how many deaths in the UK at the hands of terrorists are enough for you to not minimise the deaths, 50? 500? 5000?

Which is NOT what I said in my (very short) first response you have taken offense to, at least back it up.

When did Nigeria become the new pro Israel whataboutism trump card? If you’re like the other poster who mentioned this you don’t know or give a shit about what’s going on there.

Whataboutism?? Have you seen the numbers? If your username is an indication of your heritage...then you should know that the onslaught of Nigerian Christians is far from whataboutism!

hunger and suffering during the war is not the same as starving someone to death.
Of course you know that UN admits that they are inefficient in distributing humanitarian aid and de facto only Israel with help of America is managing doing so?
app.un2720.org/tracking
Stephane Dujarric claims UN can't work with Israel to distribute aid for which UN is responsible, but at the same time UN claims that they can't do a thing without help from Israel. So, do you all really care about these children? You are not. You just want Hamas to won. Marches started on October 7th. Weeks before even one IDF solder put a foot on Gazan soil. But when hostages were still alive. Already being tortured.

Israel has tortured many more Palestinian prisoners than vice versa. Almost as if the war didn’t start on October 7th.

MaidOfSteel · 03/10/2025 17:23

You’re absolutely right, OP.

I believe the marches should be banned. The government’s weak response to these hate marches has emboldened extremists into taking further action.

Nestingbirds · 03/10/2025 17:24

It’s so disrespectful and honestly I can see serious violence breaking out - not from the Jewish community grieving, but from parties like Reform that have had enough of our way of life evaporating before our very eyes: ie respect, decency. The norms in this country when it comes to loss of life. I can really see them wading in.

We are not going to tolerate this outrageous behaviour and hate marches for much longer.

you seem to be unaware of the millions who marched against the war in Iraq

Exactly my point. They marched against a war that killed hundreds of thousands more, but when Israel responds to terror in exactly the same way, it's labelled as genocide.

DrPrunesqualer · 03/10/2025 17:28

Nn9011 · 03/10/2025 17:12

There is so much wrong with what you said I don't even know where to begin.
Firstly, the flotilla were absolutely kidnapped. They were in international waters going into the Palestine waters of which Israel has no powers and the blockade of aid is literally one of the pillars of genocide they are being indicted for.

As for the colonisation, considering that Uganda and Argentina were also for consideration of the creation of a Jewish Homeland I would say the location wasn't actually the main point however it became popular to be Palestine (which is labelled as such going back hundreds of years) because it helped Britain control that area and access to other colonies like India.

As for exterminating Jews, that's a disgusting accusation and one that leads to the very awful events at the synagogue. I have spent many years of my life studying what happened to the Jewish people in Germany and elsewhere during and leading up to WW2, however I've also studied enough to know that what was happening to Palestine began in the 1800s with British involvement and then Israel began to form after the first Nakba were thousands of Palestinians were killed and buried in mass graves in displaced into refugee camps where they still exist today.

As I said in my previous comment, I would encourage to get outside your own bubble. The Israeli government have weaponised the idea of antisemitism to protect themselves and that is what is causing harm to Jewish people. Because you can control a group of people if you feed them propaganda and tell them the world is against them.

Palestinian lives are no less important than the lives of Israeli people or Jewish people or Irish or Australian or Chinese people and if you believe anything other than that then you have been fed lies, hatred and propaganda.

Excellent post

But you walking down Whitehall with a placard isn’t going to stop the genocide is it?!

There is a minority group of people who were targeted by a terrorist because of their religion yesterday! Just leave it this week and start again next week!

Walking down the road with a placard is anyone’s right in a democracy with free speech, whenever they want.

Reform campaigning for 'decency' and 'respect'.

Absolutely hilarious (unless you consider domestic violence and taking bribes to be decent behaviour)

Because we have had a very serious terrorist incident in this country - on our soil. Involving the death and injury to one of our communities. It is standard practice in this country to be respectful after such incidents. It is utterly vile and tasteless to start another protest, and yes will tip into celebration of the loss of life.

Here, we honour the dead. Regardless of their religion.

Please show some god damn respect. You are not welcome to bring this to our streets and cities. You are inciting violence and you know it.

@hattie43

The Muslim Council of Britain, British Muslim Trust and British Muslim Network have all condemned it. I’m sure a quick Google will reveal plenty more.
Just because the Daily Mail doesn’t report something doesn’t necessarily mean it hasn’t happened.

Happy Golmor2 I agree with what you have said above the Gaza war its genocide and killing of Jews something to hate as well What's happening to the Nigerian Christians ?I haven't seen that on the news if they are being killed that's wrong as well But you can't get away from all the suffering in Gaza including starvation being used as a method of war
