Sick of the lie 'It's just illegal immigrants people don't like.'

This is just not true.

Reform, the flag flyers and protesters are racists. All of this 'It's just the illegals we want gone.' is a lie to excuse their racism.

I speak as a non-white woman with two mixed race children here, who grew up in very ethnically diverse parts of south London, so have some stake in the conversation… you’re comment is slightly disingenuous.

The counties you listed are all high income countries who are likely to be net contributors who share a similar culture to ours.

People from other countries (including the one of my parents is from) are less likely to integrate or contribute to the economy in the same way. Many of these countries are politically unstable and combine that with people claiming asylum- we don’t always know who is coming in.

Some people definitely are just racist, and as a mother and a human being, I hate those people.

But if you think it’s racist to not want high levels of immigration from certain countries, I’m sorry, but you’ve lost the plot.

Certain countries such as Muslim countries, right? They are less deserving? Because they are poorer as a result of years of exploitation and interference from Britain and the west? Because they're manical amoral freaks? Is that what you're implying? They're less than?

There’s a lot envy and jealousy. Children of migrants have done well, they’ve worked hard , built careers and live in affluent areas. Then there’s a group of people who think they should be entitled to those careers, homes, savings and holidays well just because they’re ’indigenous’. It’s getting out of hand. It’s not about immigrants and never has been. It’s the politics of envy which is being used here.

What are you even talking about??

Phobiaphobic · 26/09/2025 23:16

But what a racist assumption, that she was helping out people from poorer backgrounds.

But I thought everyone who isn't white is terribly oppressed. Isn't that what we've been told constantly for the last decade? So for someone to assume that translates into being poorer is hardly an odd assumption, let alone a racist one.

But I thought everyone who isn't white is terribly oppressed.

Only on the internet can you have a debate about the blatant rise of far right politics and mood in the country and have a comment like that.

I wonder why.

It hasn’t.

You are just getting a bit desperate 🤣

No one is forcing any Christians to follow Sharia Law, sharia law is not taking over our streets. No one is taking over a 1000 year old Christian establishment. No one is dismantling it, not even the muslim grocer, pharmacist or taxi driver in my town.
It goes without saying that different nations make different rules.. according to the principle religious faith or a written constitution or even a military coup ... I am not sure what your point you are trying to make? Sincerely

There are Muslim extremists who have said that’s their goal though.

I think we would be arrogant to ignore them.

Countries like Iran and Afghanistan are not poorer because of us, it’s because of the men in charge dragging them backwards and removing human rights from women.

Because they're manical amoral freaks? (your words)

Do you think that countries where women are not allowed out of the house, not allowed education or medical care, gay people are thrown off talks building, child and forced marriage is legal from the age of 9 are moral or not? Are these values and practices we should accept?

FrippEnos · 27/09/2025 16:56

I have no problem with immigrants.

The immigrant problem that I have is the government putting them in areas without the infrastructure to support them and and the locals, and then fucking over everybody there by saying that those with a problem with lack of infrastructure are racist.

But then that is partly why we are where we are.

Of course we would be. If the ‘I’m terrified of Reform’ posters went to your average Islamic country they would be catatonic at what they witnessed - far, far worse than anything Reform will do. This annoying white middle class ignorance of ‘no other countries are racist/right wing’ is utterly exasperating, they need to travel more and pick up a few history books that aren’t just about the Third Reich

Enjoy your evening.

It does seem to be like the government themselves are trying to create division by putting British people at the back of the queue for basics like housing, medical care etc. and making us pay more for the privilege.

Is it getting past the point of gross incompetence and verging on deliberate? Are they all shareholders of arms manufacturers or something? What is their end goal?

Your posts are full of nonsensical hyperbole. I’ve not called ‘everyone’ a racist and I’ve never said discussing immigration makes ‘everyone’ racist. Stop twisting my words, no one is ‘accusing’ you of anything and you aren’t the victim here I’m afraid.

My original post is an observation of the pattern of rhetoric I’ve seen on here recently, in terms of both racism denial and outright racism. I don’t know why this would irk you so much, unless this applies to you in some way. So kindly drop the passive aggressive retorts as it makes you look desperate.

PrimeTimeNow · 27/09/2025 17:10

Trying to shut down conversations about illegal immigration by calling people racist is boosting the popularity of Reform.

Grow up and understand that very many people have concerns. If the left don’t engage with this issue you’ll get the alternative. FAFO.

Plastictreees · 27/09/2025 17:17

If you don’t want to be called a racist, don’t be one. It’s that simple.

You can keep repeating yourself until you’re blue in the face. People don’t care any more. No one’s listening to you. The word has lost any meaning due to the inability of people like you to have discussions about the issues and problems that mass immigration brings without shouting ‘racist’ at everyone.

But the insult "racist" is thrown at anyone who is concerned about the effects of a population of 70 million in a tiny island? Is that not something you deem people are allowed to worry about without them being insulted?

How can we now determine whether we are racist or not? What is your definition of goodthink?

People do care I’m afraid, you may not but plenty do. Just more meaningless hyperbole - no one is being ‘shouted at’, I am merely pointing out if people don’t want to be called racist then don’t BE racist. God knows why this is so controversial, but the fact that you and others have got so wound up about it says a lot about you.

Agrumpyknitter · 27/09/2025 17:31

Uggbootsforever · 26/09/2025 22:15

I’m concerned about immigration. I’m not racist, I’m part of a happy multicultural family.

Our country is far too small to keep allowing net 900,000 immigration every year. I value green spaces, food security, a lower flood risk, wildlife, clean air. I don’t want the country ultimately becoming a large city state with the odd park where gardens are for the rich, and I don’t think we are obliged to do so in order to accommodate people from other countries who feel it is their right to live here. We need farmland, importing more and more produce is hideous for the environment and leaves us vulnerable. Our roads and infrastructure are barely coping as it is, and we’ve killed off hundreds of species of native wildlife due to pollution and a lack of habitat.

It’s about so much more than politics and skin colour. In fact those things barely register with me.

Then why are you not also concerned with the hoarding of resources by the rich. Even were the UK to no longer accept any new immigrants into the country do you think our issues will miraculously improve? The rich have always had the ear of the government. It will then turn to black and brown people who are born here and have children. The racists will never be appeased.

Labour is committed to improve illegal immigration.

But Farage caused this problem with his lies on Brexit and he doesn’t have the solution.

But what is being a racist these days? It seems to have changed. Please clarify as you haven't given us the proper definition.

Feel free to educate yourself and read up on it.

Racists do get very offended at being called a racist.

Well I thought I did know what a racist was until I went on this thread and read your posts. And now I'm not so sure as the definition seems to have been changed by you to something but it's a definition that you won't explain. And so it's hard to educate oneself (it being your own personal mysterious definition) nless you are a published author on the topic or something? That we can read and be educated by?

The U.K. has no tech industry and it needs one if you want your economy to compete globally. So yes you need the software engineers and the IT workers because there is a skill shortage.

I’m not sure you’re correct with that assumption re the skills shortage. I’ve been aware of a lot of UK based software engineers and tech specialists struggling to find decent employment opportunities, particularly in mid range positions.

Do you want some dressing to go with that word salad?

So you don't really have a definition of racism to tell us?

Basically what I think has happened here is that you have been chucking out thr insult "racist" willy nilly to anyone on this thread. Without any evidence to back it up. And youve been using that word for effect and because it's easy and requires no thought from you.
