Why did William (albeit briefly) smile at Andrew?

Skye109 · 25/09/2025 11:27

At around 0.13 seconds in. A definite smirk appears on his face and if you watch his eyes, his eyes smile for a moment. It's very brief.
William has had a lifetime of being trained and is experienced enough to know how to skillfully suppress his expression quickly, which he does.
But a quick smile is there.
Why is William allowing a fleeting smile to develop in response to something Andrew says to him? Andrew saw it, too.
Why is he even standing right next to him?
Knowing the press are there? Knowing about the optics?
I don't believe all these reports saying William is trying to get his father to cut ties with Andrew.

This is why I hide the royal family board.

God help us

I am a therapist.

Have a word with yourself then, this is not normal behaviour!

Nearly50omg · 25/09/2025 13:54

He is polite.

IdaGlossop · 25/09/2025 14:02

So we are all being deceived! William is funding the Yorks from the Duchy of Cornwall so they can stay at the Royal Lodge, keep horses, and drink champagne every day. They have a secret pact but Silly Willy let his mask slip for a few seconds as he always finds funerals hysterically funny. Or something.

I am a therapist.

If true( I doubt it) then you're a prime example of why the counselling/therapy business needs much more stringent regulation.

You sound incredibly naive and have no idea about how the world or people work, plus you're obsessing about something so trivial as someone smiling( in your opinion, I didn't see a smile) at their uncle at a family funeral.

I can't imagine what you say to your clients.

sundaychairtree · 25/09/2025 14:05

I don't understand the question, Andrew is close family. Why wouldn't he smile at him?

Butchyrestingface · 25/09/2025 14:08

@Skye109

Michael Fagan, is that you?

They do say that most therapists would benefit from the services of therapists themselves.

Yes I think our future King should blank someone who was close friends over many years with a man who was a paedophile, a sex trafficker and a rapist, and who continued to be friends with that man after he had been made aware of his crimes - crimes that he knew were being committed.
Yep. I definitely think he should have blanked him.

So, instead of posting on here, why don't you write to our future King to advise him of your concerns

MyDownstairsLooisHaunted · 25/09/2025 14:18

Are you quite alright?

Is there someone we can call?because right now you sound so intense I'd be removing all the sharp objects in the vicinity.

Take some deep breaths and go out in the real world for a while. Maybe a nice walk in the fresh air.

Pigeonpoodle · 25/09/2025 14:19

Skye109 · 25/09/2025 13:18

I am a therapist.

Well you should know that you need to see one.

You are coming across as insufferably priggish.

Pigeonpoodle · 25/09/2025 14:21

At least one of the YANBU should be YABU… stupidity pressed the wrong one.

TheJeanQueen · 25/09/2025 14:26

Edward’s wife, Sophie, put her arm around Andrew when they were looking at the flowers left for the late Queen. He was loving the attention, waving at the crowd, then Sophie put her arm around him. 🤮

I think in the same way Andrew didn’t seem to have any awareness of his behaviour being wrong, as shown in that interview he did, some other Royals are so far removed from real life, the public, normal people’s morals etc, that they don’t think he’s too bad really. I expect they’re quite put out that the pesky public have such an issue with what he has done and won’t let it go. A bit like when Anne was clearly annoyed when someone questioned her father’s ability to drive when he crashed his car aged 97. The look on her face when asked was one of disdain.

Pigeonpoodle · 25/09/2025 14:27

BadgernTheGarden · 25/09/2025 13:38

He is his uncle. I always though Andrew was more of an idiot than anything else, it's a pity he couldn't/didn't stay in the army after the Falklands war, I think that was when he was happiest. Although the Epstein girl thing was pretty awful, she would have been over the age of consent in this country and he is vain enough to think she found him irresistible, rather than she was being forced into whatever went on. The late Queen didn't entirely give up on him.

Yes, his behaviour was creepy, seedy and morally repugnant, but she was 17… That doesn’t make him a sex trafficker, rapist or paedophile as the OP said.

Vaxtable · 25/09/2025 14:27

He could not ignore him, but turned away as soon as he could

BernadetteJune · 25/09/2025 14:31

I don't think it is a friendly smile at all. I think William would like to have ignored him but was too polite - it is more an acknowledgement that he is there.

augustusglupe · 25/09/2025 14:33

It’s his uncle, William was caught off guard and didn’t want to be impolite maybe. Doesn’t mean a thing.

EverybodyLTB · 25/09/2025 14:40

Because they don’t hate him, far from it. I see some media and some people tying themselves in knots to excuse the royals’ interactions with Andrew/Fergie. They don’t give a shit what the plebs think, they don’t hate them. They pay bare minimum lip service to the optics but ultimately - if they wanted to, they would.

AnyoneWhoHasAHeart · 25/09/2025 14:56

Skye109 · 25/09/2025 13:18

I am a therapist.

Which kind? A beauty therapist? A sex therapist? A physio therapist?

Because no way in hell are you a psychotherapist or a counsellor.

You’re definitely a fantasist though. There was no smile.

HTH.

nosleepforme · 25/09/2025 15:03

I don’t see a smirk or a smile or a giggle or a look of approval
I see a perfectly non committal acknowledgement

thatsgotit · 25/09/2025 15:05

ilovesooty · 25/09/2025 11:32

I really couldn't give it this kind of intense headspace.

Same here! I think you might get a bit more traction on the royals board OP, a lot of us really couldn't give a shit I'm afraid.

NautilusLionfish · 25/09/2025 15:11

We have no idea about Williams thoughts. He may like Andrew he may not. All we know is made up rumour by pseudo journalists purporting to have insider knowledge. I know people would rather KC3 and/or William hang Andrew in public or kiss him in public to declare their leanings once and for all. It's not that easy. May be they like him. May he they too are perverts and frauds. Or may be they are walking a tightrope because there is also Eugene and Bea who are family and ostensibly innocent

SerafinasGoose · 25/09/2025 15:13

There’s a board for this mind rot. Please use it.

CoffeeCantata · 25/09/2025 15:17

Coffeeishot · 25/09/2025 12:04

Actually looking at it Prince William looks a bit awkward at his uncles smiley chat at a funeral.

The poor bloke (W) realises he has a nano-second to decide which headline would be worse:

WEAK WILLIAM SHARES A JOKE WITH WICKED UNCLE ANDY

or

PSYCHO WILLIAM SNARLS AND PUNCHES UNCLE IN THE FACE
