Migrants get up to £2000 on bankcard after prison sentences

Just watched 47 migrants being deported, costing hundreds of thousands, private flights, huge number of security guards, the migrants then get given cash cards! Back to Romania after committing crimes here including murder, sexual offences, pedophiles with money to help them resettle in their own country.

ITV news - our own go hungry and cold.

We are total mugs here in the UK.

On a separate story migrants having taxis to appointments, free NHS. I mean we have to get to our own way.

Mugs. No wonder many people are unhappy. These are convicted criminals, being pandered to.

Hi Nige.

I don't like Nigel but can see why he's getting votes.

It needs sorting by the government quick.

Actually watch the report, its mond boggling the costs for 47 convicted criminals.

Yawn.

Yes, on the face of it, it does seem absurd. However, if it costs £52000 a year to keep somebody in prison, maybe this makes more sense?

Bank cards with up to £2000 on them. They are criminals. Murder, sex criminals, etc. Romanian, not in any danger.

It's been repeatedly reported today that deportation and 2K is far cheaper than keeping them here.

Shame people that support giving criminals money don't pay for it all.

Crazy. Just deport with no money.

What should we do then op, ever which way these people are to be "processed" costs money, even not allowing them to enter the UK.

So what's the answer?

They give them money to get them to agree to go. The £2k is far less than the cost of housing them and all the court time and paperwork etc if they don't agree to leave voluntarily.

Not sure why us spending tax payers' money on criminals is "yawn". It's shocking when you consider the state of health, education and everything else in this country.

My politics are in the centre - and I would like to see the left and right collaborate rather than fight, but comments like "Hi Nige" and "Yawn" actually make me feel more inclined to vote Reform next time.

Quicker, with no money, in handcuffs and leg chains if they throw urine over security staff. Disgusting. Tighten the boarders so we know who is arriving. Much quicker processing on arrival.

It doesn’t work when kicking people out of prison with no money, so how would this work?

They aren't our citizens, they are Romanian, let the Romanians deal with their own. We aren't responsible for other countries people. Not our problem.

Is this a payment for voluntary deportation?

He’s not ‘getting votes’. He’s currently leading in some polls almost four years before a general strike election might be called based on populist policies he doesn’t have a plan for.

Yes, then people wonder why Reform attract voters. The 2 main parties to date have been useless. These are all criminals. Romania is their country. They aren't our problem.

What we need to spend the money on is our citizens, our homeless our poor, our children's education, the NHS.

OK, I can see why he's is leading in the polls. Tory and Labour have both been ineffective.

NoSoupForU · 24/09/2025 22:31

This is the voluntary scheme, yes? They're incentivised to return home because it is far less complex, and subsequently far less expensive, for us to process.

They aren't illegal immigrants or asylum seekers. They are people who lived here with the right to remain.

The taxi costs for asylum seekers is due to health care provision not moving with the individual when they move them across the country and isn't the norm. Or do you think we should be expecting an asylum seeker to make their own way on a 250 mile trip to see a doctor, paying from their £9 a week?

No, these are criminals, sentence served, deported back to their home after committing some pretty serious crimes here. We don't have to give them money, just sod off. Many needed several staff to get on planes, some 7 staff! Then out came the bank cards. When landing they looked like they were chuffed to be given cash.

2000 to not fight deportation sounds like a good deal for the gov to me. I imagine the costs involved with forcing someone to be deported would be way higher.

No its not the voluntary scheme. This lot were forced deportations due to crime including murder.
