SOrry girls, i love you all but FFS

If you are a SAHM you must be some sort of under acheiver and/or lazy

If you are WOHM you are made to feel guilty for abandoning your children with strangers.

God forbid that you be working class.

If you choose the wrong food/clothes/play gym/music class for your children, you aint gonna fit in either.

If you ask for help and support then you are weak and should be shoved over to anothe forum that "is able to offer the sort of help these people require".

HAve we forgotten that we are all mothers and fathers here? That we all share one common love - our children???

AIBU used to be a place we could have a good old whinge. Now it just seems like a platform for judgement and prejudice.........it honestly is like the corner of the common room at school where all the popular girls gather like a pack of lions judging and bitching about the rest of the school.

degenerated

it's always like this

We need a debating corner instead of AIBU, it would work better

pigleto · 03/06/2008 09:21

I agree about the bitchfest atmosphere, but I don't think it is any different than it has always been. I quite like it, but then I enjoy disgreeing with people.

MsDemeanor · 03/06/2008 09:23

Lucyellensmum hasn't got a boyfriend! And her skirt is too long and I'm going to steal her packed lunch.

mistypeaks · 03/06/2008 09:23

You know what? It's taken me a while, but read through the posts find the ones you like and mentally tell the others to f**k off!!
The other day I was in our local shop and saw a woman buying a pack of fruit shoots for her children. My internal eyebrows went up. I then checked myself. If she wants to buy them why the hell shouldn't she? I realised I was passing judgement based on others judgement from here. Had I never logged onto MN I would never have thought fruit shoots to be evil. I may not have bought them, but certainly it would never have occurred to me to judge someone. So I decided to change the rules. I may still judge the odd person here and there, but on my own judgement and firmly in my own head!!!

MsDemeanor · 03/06/2008 09:27

Quick, tear up mistypeaks homework!

peacelily · 03/06/2008 09:27

Agree LEM but there have also been some fairly vitriolic posts anti-middle class on here recently I think it goes both ways

Have to say I'm amazed by the judgmental attitude of these 21st centiury women (and occassionally men).

Disliking someone because of tattoos!?!

MsDemeanor · 03/06/2008 09:28

Slag!

lucyellensmum · 03/06/2008 09:29

misty you are sooooo right, a friend of mine had fruit shoots for her DD when we went on a playdate - she is a lovely, caring, brilliant mum, her DD is a treasure and as far as i can see, in a good state of health, yet i sat there with an internal

Msdemeanor - at least i haven't done it behind the bike sheds with spotty big knob, at least my skirt is a skirt and not a belt and you are only jealous because your mother sneds you to school with organic rice cakes and cous cous - i'll be enjoying my fruit shoot and dairylea dunkables with my packet of wotsits - come and take them off me if you think your hard enough

well thats the thing isnt it, there is more than one corner in the school common room! Working class scum on one side, middle class prigs on the other, WOHM and SAHM have opposite corners too. Fruitshoot administerers and greggs sausage roll eaters have to sit in the corridors on the dodgy radiators.

OrmIrian · 03/06/2008 09:31

If so, were is the milky coffee and the white toast with margarine. And the armchairs with bright orange 70's fabric?

The sixth form was quite civilized at our school as it happens.

I don't really think MN is any different than it usually is. It does seem a little more abrasive perhaps but it seems to go in cycles. Perhaps we'll be sharing group hugs next week?

lucyellensmum · 03/06/2008 09:32

here misty get behind me and hold my coat, im gonna 'av 'er

Fillyjonk · 03/06/2008 09:32

i've been here 2 years

its been like that the whole time

its tricky because, while it IS certainly a school playground in an awful lot of ways, it is also the only forum without tickers or excessive huns.

lucyellensmum · 03/06/2008 09:35

ah you see Orm, i went to the local comprehensive - we only had dodgy water fountains festering legionaires disease and the only biscuits were the ones stolen from the 1st years.

IT goes in cycles - you've hit the nail on the head. They say if women spend a lot of time together their menstural cycles synchronise - collective PMT!!! now im off to M&T where i can indulge in some real life bitching and judging x

lucyellensmum · 03/06/2008 09:35

is that Attilla the Hun??? I have just got to go to netmums to see if i can get called hun

mistypeaks · 03/06/2008 09:36

Have fun. I don't go to M&Ts 'cus I'm the one they probably bitch about and judge

madamez · 03/06/2008 09:37

WOtchoo looking at?

Solitaire · 03/06/2008 09:39

Unfortunatly in every aspect of British life there is going to be some sort of playground atmosphere, we seem unable to grow up.

cestlavie · 03/06/2008 09:51

Given that it would appear there's SAHMs vs WOHMs, organic fruit vs. fruitshoots, working class scum vs. middle class prigs, breast vs. bottle etc. it seems that the common room would need to be some sort of dodecahedron shape to accommodate all the corners required...

Solitaire · 03/06/2008 09:52

oh get cestlavie using advanced maths - girly swot!!!

Mercy · 03/06/2008 09:55

cestlavie is a boy!!
