I think they all did on the campaign trail, not sure about now though well obviously not now 🫣. I think he was also starting to question the Israel of it all, but I may have dreamt that.

People who stated basic biological facts were cancelled/fired for stating them.
If the Trump administration is putting pressure on ABC or any other network, it doesn’t necessarily follow that they’re incapable of resisting such pressure. If ABC had considered Kimmel’s comments to be worthy of defending, they could have done so. They chose not to.
It’s interesting that you use the word ‘payback’ - it infers you agree that the left is receiving a dose of its own medicine and doesn’t much like it! Personally I think censorship/cancel culture is a bad idea regardless of whether it’s done by the left or the right.

Thanks, I was having a hard time thinking of who had been cancelled unfairly. The trans/anti trans issue is not something I can speak to as I haven’t read enough about it. I don’t know enough about it to discuss it.

I used the word ‘payback’ because there are a lot of people who feel very negatively -feel aggrieved - about cancel culture and seem to be responding with statements like ‘the left don’t like it now it’s been turned on them.’ That puts me in mind of ‘payback’.

But this looks very different. This is the government wanting to shut down debate. It’s not just firing Kimmel and Colbert either. It’s the vice president and others in, or close to Trumps administration, that are encouraging people to make lists of anyone that expresses a negative view of Charlie Kirk. It’s purely political. It’s concerning that some people are celebrating this.

But this thread is about Charlie Kirk’s memorial. Trump was as big part of that, as was his administration, so he’s the one that comes to mind first in response to your complaint about vulgar speech. He was the one that said he thought it was okay to ‘grab women on their ‘pussies.’

I've seen the queen, prime ministers, roll out the red carpet for the worst despots, , dictators, in the world. Shake their hand, entertain them. For diplomatic and other reasons. Being employed and self employed I've dealt with clients who've given me the ick. A few who've ended up in prison (so I was right). You just have to grin and bear it.

It's not about left or right, it's about being against the US turning into a theocracy. Religion has no place in politics and the whole TPUSA circus is about breaking down the separation of church and state. On top of that, a lot of what is advocated by TPUSA is both regressive and repressive so as a woman who likes her rights and freedoms, I object to their agenda. And I'm not alone. You can scream and shout at us but it won't change our minds.
