Starmer’s support for Palestine

Steph888 · 21/09/2025 15:39

Am I alone in seeing this as one of the darkest days in UK history?

Never before did I think I’d end up living under a government who reward terrorism.

Starmer and Labour are grotesque. History will not be kind to them. They have now empowered all terrorists and their supporters.

We deserve such better than this reprehensible government. They disgust me.

Anyone who thinks it's acceptable to use the word "Zio'' is not worth listening to.

But Netanyahu isn’t with Hamas? You seem to be describing Hamas there.

No, I’m describing Netanyahu’s team, his allies, the absolutely vile right wingers that now seem to run Israel - and be voted for by Israelis.

But what happens when we have to sit round a table with these people? If we are recognising the existence of a Palestinian state, then surely with that comes the potential for having to sit and discuss issues of global importance with the terrorist leaders? On that basis alone, it was a stupid move by Starmer. Surely the best way would have been to ensure the elimination of Hamas and to move towards putting in a stable government before acknowledging existence.

Starmer has no problem with sitting around with representatives of terrorist states. He hosted Herzog last week and Herzog represents a state that is committing genocide and bombing its neighbours.

But you were also describing Hamas. That’s why I was confused. The only difference it’s Isreal are not holding innocent people hostage and no one voted for hamas. Isn’t it funny no one pro Palestine ever mentions those poor people. Why do you not care about them? Is it because they are Jewish?

The majority of the people protesting just want the genocide to stop. No hidden agenda.

Do you not see how your very statement has an agenda.

You want the genocide to stop.

Which immediately is political by describing it as genocide, not killings (which may or not be a byproduct of a war against hamas), or starvation (which may or not be a function of Hamas having previously appropriated and controlled aid to the people).

And does not include anything about IDF soldiers dying, or hostages suffering.

Etc.

You cannot see how heavily you are invested in the agenda that this is all Israel's fault and somehow Hamas are.not complicit in what you insist is genocide.

Everyone with eyes can see it’s a genocide, there’s no agenda there.
Unless you think everyone in the world is having their eyes replaced

This. To add, the UN commission of inquiry is now declaring that Israel is committing genocide. What more evidence do you want?

‘Support’ when he has been supporting and supplying weapons for a genocide for two years.

Recognising Palestine is meaningless when they don’t have secure borders, are occupied and almost the entirety of Gaza has been destroyed. Stopping arms sales, sanctions and serious pressure on Israel is what is needed. Not empty words.

Mumsnet really is the most genocide supporting place on the internet.

wrongthinker · 22/09/2025 07:29

Here's a really excellent article, with plenty of scholarly and journalistic evidence, about how the idea of genocide has been pushed on people, when there is in fact no genocide.

No one's free until we all are.

I stand with Palestine

But the hostages and the 1200 slaughtered in the kibbutz? Shouldn’t they be free?

People seem to conveniently forget what started this.

You won’t forget when the threat turns your way, which it will. Hamas are terrorists. Seems it’s fine for terrorists to exist as long as it’s not in our space - absolute hypocrites.

Israel just hold people in prison indefinitely with no charges where they starve, torture and sexually assault them. Totally different.

Thank you for taking the time to respond to this because I was lost for words for a while that anyone would have the audacity after everything we have seen and heard to type that out.

I’m not sure it’s been mentioned on the thread already, but how come no debate in parliament about this move by Starmer?

You’d think it would be worth a formal debate, even withstanding Starmer being incapable of answering a direct question.

How? How is that different to what Hamas are doing to the hostages? Hamas murdered innocent people too but you seem to be forgetting that. Why?

I haven’t been following this anymore but did they eventually let independent UN investigators in to see what happened on that day?

There were claims about beheaded kids and brutal rapes that were then back peddled on because no evidence was forthcoming ? There was a court case started by the settlers families saying some of the injuries were caused by weapons only the IdF had access to. Just wondering if you had the latest on that?

Why is it audacious to remind people Hamas are still holding innocent people hostage? Do you think the hostages deserve it? Why? Hamas murdered innocent people m. Why is what they did different to what Israel are doing apart from Isreal are doing it on a larger scale.

No evidence of brutal rapes and dead kids?

Have you not seen the videos?!!

I don’t think you need a UN investigation, just watch the footage. Hamas filmed it with glee.

Whats happening in Gaza is genocide. And Israel is committing this genocide.

But that’s not why Starmer has done this. He’s done it because his far left Marxist Labour Party are a bunch of anti semites and like to hide behind Muslims to pretend that they care about Gaza. Most far left Marxists latch onto causes just to get their anti semitism out of their system. Gaza is just a convenient vehicle. What a shame for the people suffering genocide that they are being used by Marxists.

😂😂😂

Starmer is about as Marxist or far left as Hitler was a real humanitarian.

What is most hysterical about this is that many of Marxisms greatest figures were Jewish, and one of the greatest anti-semitic lies is the Jewish Bolshevism conspiracy theory which was used by Hitler to justify his final solution. Marxists are bothered about Gaza because of the genocide, and that includes Jewish Marxists. None of which are likely to be members of the Labour Party.

Can I ask why when videos of Gazan children come out (horrific videos) its propaganda, AI, fakes turfed out by Hamas, but when its on the other foot and it’s horrific videos of Israeli children some never question the video’s validity? It’s just simply believe ti be true, why is it not Israeli propaganda? There’s always a double standard whats real and whats not. From what I have read the claims of beheaded babies was debunked no?

Namelessnelly · 22/09/2025 07:48

@BluntPlumHam do you’re also condemning Hamas for holding innocent people hostage and killing innocent people including children. Gotcha.
