Am I alone in seeing this as one of the darkest days in UK history?

Never before did I think I’d end up living under a government who reward terrorism.

Starmer and Labour are grotesque. History will not be kind to them. They have now empowered all terrorists and their supporters.

We deserve such better than this reprehensible government. They disgust me.

There's no genocide in Gaza; you have it back to front. Hamas want to eradicate the Jews. The genocide is happening in the same direction it was always happening in.

There's plenty of aid getting into Gaza and if people are starving there, it's because Hamas is stealing aid from the people. They are utterly corrupt.

Do I think Israel is perfect? No, of course not. But I think they have the right to defend themselves and I hope to God they win this war.

I don't hate Jews at all. The Israeli government do not speak on behalf of Jews in general. Nor do they act on behalf of all Jews.

I am critical of the Israeli government because of their extreme violence and killing of thousands of innocent people. Just as I am critical of Hamas for their horrific violence against innocent Israelis.

I don't hold Jews accountable for genocide at the hands of the Israeli government. I do see the Israeli government as responsible for their own actions.

You can be Israeli and have this view too look at the conductor Ilan Volkov at the BBC proms and his passionate speech for peace.

I'm completely for real. Hamas are genocidal and want the complete extermination of the Jews - they state this openly. Israel, on the other hand, are sending in aid to the Palestinians. They allow Palestinians into their towns and cities and allow them to work and live there. Do you think a Jew could go into Gaza and get a job? You have been duped and lied to, I'm sorry.

I think you need to study some history of the region.

From 1949 - 1967 Gaza was under the control of Egypt. They were not "blockaded" during that time.
Nasser allowed students to come into Egypt to study at universities there and even offered scholarships for them
Israel took control of Gaza in 1967 as a result of the 6 Day War.
In 2005, under international and domestic pressure, Israel withdrew around 9,000 Israeli settlers and its military forces from Gaza, leaving the enclave to be governed by the Palestinian Authority, which also controlled parts of the occupied West Bank.
That is when Hamas took control.

The West Bank was controlled by Jordan from 1949 -1967 when it was taken over by Israel after the Six Day War.
Unlike any other Arab country to which they fled after the 1948 Arab–Israeli War, Palestinian refugees in the West Bank (and on the East Bank) were given Jordanian citizenship on the same basis as existing residents.

So to say they were blockaded for decades is arrant nonsense.

He should be rotting in a cell at the The Hague, and the sign above the door should say Shatilla, Sabra, Bourj El Barrajneh. He will do anything to stay in power. It’s disgusting OP. I’m thoroughly ashamed of our government currently. It makes my skin crawl to think that he’s basically giving a green light to terrorism. I hope this gesture doesn’t result in the government having to sit down at a table with their leaders, Hamas. Because that will be a very shameful day for our country. By recognising a Palestinian state, you are also recognising their regime.

Just another terrible and weak decision from Starmer in a long litiny of terrible decisions.

Of course I have compassion for innocent Palestinians; I can have compassion for their suffering without agreeing that they are victims of a genocide. If it's a genocide, then why are Israel sending in food aid? If there's a genocide of Palestinians, why aren't Jordan or Egypt taking any refugees? If there's a genocide, why didn't Hamas give up their hostages in exchange for peace when Israel offered it? Why did Israel offer it? Why did Israel release Hamas prisoners back to Gaza? If it's a genocide, why would they do that? Make it make sense.

Let me ask you: do you have any compassion for the hostages, the families of the hostages, the babies and children raped by Palestinians, the people starved and forced to dig their own graves, the women whose breasts were cut off, the women who were dragged into crowds of Palestinian men to be raped to death... I could go on. But I won't because it's fucking terrifying, and terrifying that THIS is what you support.
