……left leaning or right leaning? I think it is more right leaning-AIBU?

It’s definitely left leaning when you look at the levels of economic and fiscal illiteracy, and naivety on social discourse displayed by the most vocal posters.

There is endless amounts of money to be spent on freebies by the government.

The last Tory government were apparently right wing fascist despite presiding over higher ever taxes, public spending and highest ever immigration.

All the tens of millions on benefits claimants are genuine and everyone who claims to disabled actually is. No such thing as benefit fraud, ever.

Every illegal immigrant is a genuine refugee, there is no such thing as an economic migrant pretending to be a refugee.

Millionaires and high paying tax payer leaving the country in their tens of thousands is no problem at all, nor is the hundreds of billions paid out in welfare. And no one needs net contributors. Paying low or no tax is a virtue because, you know……feels and vibes.

Bless your delusion that economic and fiscal illiteracy are characteristic of the left.

The majority of the people are around the centre, but you get a lot of spam bots, trolls and journos on here that post a lot of far left/right stuff to get a reaction, so they can put it in the media and try and convince stupid people that everyone hates everyone else (not sure what this achieves exactly, as most people roll their eyes and ignore). People are genuinely wise to and fatigued with this sort of division now.

I can tell those who are genuine posters most of the time including the OP because they aren't very subtle about their intentions 🤔

I think FWR shows how many people who describe themselves as left-wing are very immature and (accidentally?) right-wing in their thinking.

What a very condescending, even ignorant statement.
I am a Labour party member and also strongly gender critical and I've found many other members agree with my stance, even in the highly liberal/left of centre university city where I live.

TheBeaTgoeson1 · 17/10/2025 20:39

Based on the gender critical chats, right. For sure.

I see and hear a dominant left tone most of the time. But as for the actual demographic, I don’t think that’s representative.

On MN, as in real life, you get the “shy Tory” syndrome. Left wing and radical people are almost always more vociferous and you can get a skewed impression from that.
