Charlie Kirk- and the reality

So here we are- they have a suspect.
The very little we know about his politics suggests he was likely to be right wing, and came from a family/ culture that supported Trump. He also is said to be an introvert, in to video games , and possibly quite mentally unwell.

So there we have it- fancy that - when you live in a context where people have access to guns and some minority of people are not well, people get shot.

Nothing to do with the evils of the “left”. Nothing to do with trans people or “trans ideology”. Just senseless violence, because people who are not well have access to guns.

So what are we going to take/ learn from this?

Nothing will be learned. If scores of five and six year olds having their heads blown off their shoulders didn’t work, nothing will.

These American gun law debates will still be going on when we're all dead and buried. It’ll never change.

This. There are powerful pro gun lobbies in the US like the NRA who will advocate that scores of five and six year olds having their heads blown off is the precisely the reason that everyone should be allowed to carry a gun.

Dannydevitoiloveyourart · 14/09/2025 09:33

😂😂😂

Do you really believe this? If so, you’ll believe anything. Papers will report what gives them clicks and views so long as there isn’t certainty of a costly defamation claim. Thats how they make money. It’s a balancing act between the ad revenue from the article and the cost of settling any potential defamation claim.

The Times don’t have a first-hand source and are simply rehashing second hand reports from less credible press. The fact the Times does not appear to have named which news source the allegation originated from, but simply says “there were reports”, suggests it knows those news sources are not credible sources but does not want to miss out on its share of ad revenue generated from reporting he had a trans partner.

Edited

The New York Post claim to have the direct source, and I think Fox News independently. Now obviously you are free to think they are lying, but that’s the claim.

Did this really need yet another thread ?

Exactly. There’s been dozens of threads on this OP. The truth will come out eventually as to the political leanings of the murderer.

KimberleyClark · 14/09/2025 09:39

Gloriia · 14/09/2025 09:22

He was religious and a patriot. He didn't believe that kids should get 'transitioned'. He wasn't a big fan of people getting ahead because of DEI initiatives and wanted to control immigration.

He believed in free speech and was able to listen to opposing views and challenge people respectfully.

Nothing 'awkward' about it. He had a massive following he clearly struck a chord with many Americans.

He was a racist who talked about “prowling blacks” and said he wouldn’t get into a plane with a black pilot. He said he wouldn’t let his 9-10 year old daughters terminate a pregnancy if they were pregnant through rape.

Gloriia · 14/09/2025 09:39

Tandora · 14/09/2025 09:29

He also believed that men and women have “biblical roles” in marriage and that women should “submit” to their husbands. How on earth people in 2025 Britain are trying to present this man’s opinions as moderate and harmless I cannot understand. His ideas were dangerous, and that’s before we even start on the justification/ rationalisation of gun violence.

Edited

Lots of religions have views others find weird. We can't call it dangerous otherwise it sounds phobic/intolerant.

Many Americans support gun ownership. Are you American? That is their choice. He recognised that people wanted the right bear arms and that sadly innocent deaths would occur due to that. He wasn't 'justifying' gun violence.

EdithBond · 14/09/2025 09:40

AnotherFive · 14/09/2025 09:14

Indeed, people insist he is right wing because they don't believe left can also have extremists. Extremists on both sides are possible

IMHO his views are irrelevant. What’s relevant is the urge to kill and how that could have been prevented:

  • how he came to think it was OK to kill someone
  • if he knew that meant he was probably quite unwell
  • what safe, non-judgemental help was easily available to him when feeling like that, and
  • how he obtained a weapon to do it.

It’s perfectly possible for people to have what are considered to be extreme views and not cause any harm to other people as a result of those views.

For example, you can have the view that abortion should be unlawful. But if you stand outside a clinic harassing women and staff, you’re causing them harm.

If you speak in an hateful way about other people, just because of who they are, how they choose to live or what they believe, you’re causing them harm.

If you do this as a person of influence (e.g. politician), you have to expect some people will respond to that hate by physically harming or intimidating people. It’s irresponsible.

Insanityisnotastrategy · 14/09/2025 09:40

The reality is that a lot of people were celebrating his death. Not on here particularly but a lot on Tiktok etc. It's the reaction to his death that is most disturbing, not the identity or affiliations of his murderer.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 14/09/2025 09:40

Yes. They are all over what appears to be his social media. People are free not to believe it’s him of course.

Exactly. I find it baffling how some people just don’t seem to be able to grasp this. Being shocked at a man being shot on live stream at a university campus doesn’t make a person “right wing” and being shocked at the celebrations over it doesn’t either. A lot of leftists have lost their jobs over it too, in the reversal of “cancel culture” that I talked about on the FWR thread.

Dannydevitoiloveyourart · 14/09/2025 09:44

MyHeartyCoralSnail · 14/09/2025 09:23

If you read US media it appears this information came from a law enforcement source which various news outlets like the New York post have had confirmed to them. This is the way most journalism works.

There is zero evidence that the shooter was right wing. Lots of evidence to indicate the contrary. Therefore, on the basis if the information that is available the OPs statement is incorrect

A law enforcement source also told the Wall Street Journal that the bullets found had pro trans ideology on them. Which has since proven to be false

Engage your brain please. Mud sticks and the truth won’t matter if people already believe the lies told when the news was hot. E.g many Americans are still convinced Obama is not American because of Trumps birther movement, even though it’s been proven to be false.

You need to realise that you are being manipulated and American law enforcement is as corrupt as they come. Read the book “Just Mercy” if you want to get an idea of the lengths the American justice system will go to prevent justice if the truth doesn’t serve their agenda.

His comment about pilots was due to DEI initiates and are canditates chosen due to their ability or to fulfil quotas.

The answer to the hypothetical question about his daughter was of course wrong in most people's opinion but that's the thing, he would welcome you opposing his opinion without shutting you down with abuse and hysteria.

You didn't have to agree with him but he had strong religious beliefs as do many.

The left exaggerate and twist his words so they can criticise him because he was an influential voice on the right. It’s a shame he isn’t around anymore to respond. I listened to a few of the debates Kirk took part in, and he always came across as very reasoned. And unlike a lot of the hysterical screaming and aggressive voices on the left, he was always polite and respectful.

EvangelicalAboutButteredToast · 14/09/2025 09:44

Tandora · 14/09/2025 08:38

Of course not- I don’t even particularly like the guardian. I will accept any mainstream news source across the political spectrum . Although even those can get things wrong - (for example the bbc retracted their initial statement that Kirk’s wife and kids were present at/ witnessed the murder -) they are more likely to be cautious about what they report and to quickly correct unverified info.

I’ve asked AI for you and it tells us the following.

Yes, according to law enforcement and media reports, Charlie Kirk's alleged assassin, Tyler Robinson, was living with a transgender partner named Lance Twiggs in St. George, Utah

Details of the relationship and investigation:

  • Relationship and residence: A law enforcement source confirmed to the New York Post that Robinson was living with Twiggs, who was in the process of transitioning from male to female. Public records also show that the two resided at the same address. The FBI has confirmed they were in a romantic relationship.
  • Cooperation with the FBI: Twiggs is fully cooperating with the FBI investigation and, according to senior officials, was unaware of Robinson's alleged plan to kill Charlie Kirk.
  • Evidence collected: The FBI has collected additional evidence from the apartment the two shared, including computers that were sent to Quantico for review. Twiggs also shared key evidence regarding bullet casings and the location of a rifle.
  • Twiggs' family comments: A relative of Twiggs confirmed to the New York Post that they were roommates but declined to speculate on a romantic relationship. Twiggs' grandfather also confirmed to the Daily Mail that Twiggs had been in contact with police.

Apparently as many as possible about how he was obviously indoctrinated into evil leftist Marxist anti-freedom trans ideology, but complete radio silence and no further discussion once it's established that that's complete bullshit.

Nothing productive ever comes from these ‘discussions’. People so so entrenched in their views.

Tandora · 14/09/2025 09:45

meeleymanatee · 14/09/2025 09:34

Do you feel the same about traditional Muslim views? And in particular from those cultures where woman are forced to ‘submit’, marry men they don’t want to. Not have job. Ect. Do you think they are dangerous?

those cultures where woman are forced to ‘submit’, marry men they don’t want to. Not have job. Ect. Do you think they are dangerous?

Of course!!!! If you don’t , I find that exceptionally disturbing. Forced marriage is a form of violence against women / girls and a violation of basic human rights , and forcing women to submit to , and be financially dependent on , their male partners creates the conditions for domestic violence, which is a very serious and dangerous problem .
