To be alarmed at the number of women who are throwing support behind causes that are clearly anti-woman?

With the recent threads about flags/immigrants and Charlie Kirk etc, there seem to be a bewildering number of women supporting causes that directly go against their own interests, and it’s baffling and frankly a bit disturbing.

Reform have voted against tougher laws on stalking, sexual harassment and upskirting, against clamping down on revenge porn, and against further protections in the workplace. Farage cited Andrew Tate as “an important voice for men”.

Then you have Trump, who was found to have committed rape, forced himself into changing rooms where teenagers were undressing, made sexual comments about his own daughter, not to mention 34 other felonies, and that’s before we even get to the Epstein files.

Charlie Kirk said that women should only vote if they were voting for the candidate chosen by their husband, that women shouldn’t go on to higher education unless it was to find a husband, that women should have to submit to their husbands, and that little girls as young as 9 or 10 including his own daughters should be forced to give birth to babies conceived as a result of rape.

What has happened to us that there are so many women willing to endorse attitudes like this? And how do we fix it?! How have we sunk so low that there are women who think this is what we all deserve? It’s terrifying.

I personally wouldn’t vote for an odious man like Trump who goes against all my morals and beliefs, just because he backed one issue I cared about. Trump does not care about women’s rights, it’s a political move for him and it’s sad to see women falling for it. There absolutely does need to be better political representation for women and issues that affect them. That is very clear.

Of course Trump doesn’t care about women’s rights. But neither does Kamala.

There were only two choices for women in the US: I’d say Dumb or Dumber, but perhaps Shit or Shitter would be more apt.

There wasn’t a good choice available.

Well. He clearly doesn't need your vote anyway!

Another brilliant contribution from you, thanks 👏

Because the alternative are going along with the trope that men can become women and want to give away women’s right to sex based spaces and sports.

This has been established many times in this thread but seeing as you brought it up (thought you weren’t going to discuss ‘trans’ issues?) It’s a male issue actually, no one is bothered about females who identify differently.

How is being sneery about women who don’t want to share certain spaces with men with special feelings help anything?

Yes, this isn’t an issue with trans people. It’s an issue with MEN. Males in female spaces - where they shouldn’t be. Very few people are worried about trans men being in women’s spaces as they are biologically female and as such pose no extra risk.

Imagine that being our choice. You can have abortion, ladies, OR female only sports. Pick one. You can have basic safeguarding OR you can have equal pay. No wonder women aren't voting.

In a sense I agree with you but it's all distraction. The vast majority of woman won't be attacked by a transgender person using the ladies toilets. If someone wants to be violent against women they will be no matter what the setting. But having your rights to have an abortion will effect thousands of woman etc. I know it's more nuanced than that but people really need to look carefully at all policies before voting rather than hearing one thing that they agree with without educating themselves on all the other things that that will entail. It would be great if all voters had to watch a video or something that truthfully and clearly outlined the policies, pros and cons of each party.

Actually the vast majority of women and girls WILL have their right to not undress in front of a male attacked by a transidentified male entering their changing space. Many simply do not wish to undress in front of men whether he touches them or not! They don't want him to look, see, intimidate or attack.

More women will need to undress in public places than will ever need an abortion.

Your own post is a distraction itself

The vast majority of men wouldn’t attack you in a toilet. You don’t do away with basic safeguarding because a small minority feel and want to present differently. If you include males in a women’s space it becomes mixed sex and the word ‘woman’ meaningless in definition if it includes some men. If you can’t properly define ‘woman’ you can’t tackle the issues that affect women. It’s not a distraction, it’s a fundamental issue to lots and lots of women.

Edited to add - it’s not even about being physically attacked. It’s about privacy and dignity too. I don’t want to get changed in front of any man. The ones I know who are nice like the majority of men in my life, the arsehole ones, the trans identifying ones. All men. Entering those spaces they are pushing a boundary.

If more people understood this they’d understand why many women aren’t voting for the likes of Labour, SNP etc. The Greens have forgotten about the environment and seem to be just trans activists now.

She never said they did. The poster reserved the right to make her own mind up rather than have other people's views forced on her whether by the late Mr Kirk or by you.

And I agree with her.

please do go ahead and point to where I’ve said she can’t have her own views? My question was about that specific set of views that clearly go against their interests.

Or that they’re voting for misogynistic bigots like Trump, because of the trans issue.

I agree it’s a massive problem.

Remember that Trump was able to secure all those votes because Kamala Harris's policy was to provide state funded sex reassignment surgery to federal prisoners including rapists and murderers. If you don't want women to vote for Trump, maybe don't have policies that enable rapists and murderers to conceal their identities and express their fetish courtesy of the taxpayer.

Regarding abortion, Clinton was elected for 8 years with a mandate to bring in Federal abortion laws. Did nothing. Obama had federal abortion policy as part of his manifesto but decided not to pursue it as it wasn't a priority. The Democrats were in power between 2020-24 and still no action on abortion. Ruth Bader Ginsburg - a Democrat - refused to resign (in her 90s) from the Supreme Court during the Obama period when he could have appointed a pro-choice replacement instead dying in the Trump era so he got to choose who replaced her. Please do not tell me Democrats give a shit about women's reproductive rights.

Happyjoe · 14/09/2025 10:27

Personally speaking, calling people thick, racist whatever is the truth. Because when you gently point out facts and truths to people like this they don't want to hear it anyway. They have made up their minds and nothing will shift them from that. I have had a few conversations in real life and online to show me that it's a waste of time.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 14/09/2025 10:28

You are deciding for other women what their interests are. As demonstrated in this thread, different women have different priorities and motivations for voting.

Many have pointed out to you that different women have different interests, views and morals.

And to make it clear, this is not just about men in women's changing rooms and toilets

It's men in women's prisons, rape counselling, domestic violence shelters, single sex hospital wards, sports. It's about men taking women only places on boards/awards. It's sick and disabled women not being able to request single sex care for their intimate care needs.

If you have never had cause to worry about any of these things, lucky you. Unfortunately other women have.

That’s the thing, people on this thread, including the OP, just want to sneer and look down at other women. That’s not likely to make them want to vote for your preferred options, or make them feel like you have their best interests at heart.

Is it in ANY woman’s interests to have her rights taken away?

Exactly.

If you go into a women’s changing room with your young daughter and there’s a bloke in there naked, looking at your young daughter while she’s getting changed, how do you get him removed - or charged - if males are allowed in there if they say some magic words?

Before all the nonsense where men’s feelings were prioritised over women’s rights and safety, we previously used to swiftly and accurately be able to identify a man in the ladies as a flasher or a Peeping Tom. It was never in our interests ro move away from this.
