Political violence on the rise.

People are getting angry when people have Political views they don't agree with. Freedom of speech must be allowed not shutdown.

Tragic news of a young family man shot by someone today. Please remember he was a human with a family. Violence is never ok.

@TinyIsMyNewt So he claimed the man might actually be a gay lover? So by that he doesn’t deserve sympathy? It’s a bit of a reach. Again, I’ve never seen him incite violence.

And wanted someone to "heroically' bail the attacker out.

Wishing14 · 11/09/2025 05:57

@SewNotHappyyou get bogged down by definitions, which as you should know change over time. The far left is becoming an ideological view that forcefully opposes alternative views and hates freedom of speech. They are becoming the thing they hate.

The definition of the word liberal has not changed.

DdraigGoch · 11/09/2025 04:16

Your imagination is working overtime.

Better than having completely dormant brain cells. As is the case with people who are triggered by this.

Wishing14 · 11/09/2025 06:15

@TinyIsMyNewtso he deserved to die? So he’s an awful human?

spoonbillstretford · 11/09/2025 06:15

Pigeonpoodle · 11/09/2025 06:05

I’ve listening to him quite a bit and, whereas I’ve often strongly disagreed with him, I’ve never heard him advocating violence against those with different views.

Provide some evidence or you’re slandering a dead man.

A week after three children were killed by shooting Kirk said innocent civilian deaths were the unavoidable and necessary price for God-given freedoms like the 2nd Amendment.

Kirk also said "Empathy is a made up, New Age thing that actually does a lot of damage."

Wishing14 · 11/09/2025 06:16

@SewNotHappy it needs to and is starting to. Definitions are in books but you can actually see and experience what is happening

Pigeonpoodle · 11/09/2025 06:18

spoonbillstretford · 11/09/2025 06:00

Yes, in the UK you can be arrested and imprisoned for publicly inciting racial hatred or violence - freedom of speech comes with responsibility and limits.

This case shoss what happens when people incite violence. People get violent. Hence the law.

Yes, but the definition of incitement in Linehan’s case has been stretched to absurdity, and would result in most of the public needing to be arrested for harmless comments they’ve made during their lives.

He also arranged to go to Parkland school to talk about the right to bear arms just after 17 children were shot dead there, luckily this was stopped. And he said victims of mass shootings shouldn't be allowed to "use their emotions to manipulate."

To whoever asked, yes he was an awful human. No, I don't believe he deserved to die. Unlike him I'm not okay with anyone being shot dead.

SewNotHappy · 11/09/2025 06:23

Pigeonpoodle · 11/09/2025 06:12

It is, and I’d describe myself as a liberal by that definition.

The issue is that it’s become a term that’s been appropriated over the past couple of decades by the Left, and co-opted into their much more authoritarian and intolerant philosophy.

So you are a liberal. I mainly see it misused by those on the right, especially in the US, but the same people misuse the term left wing, they don't really have a left wing of politics in the US!

No, but I'm not having the narrative that the nasty violent left are waging war on the peaceloving right, who just want to have a civilized debate.

That’s no more advocating violence than saying innocent civilians deaths of Ukranians are the tragic but unavoidable price of Ukraine defending itself and not capitulating to Russia’s invasion.

You may disagree with his view on the second amendment, as I do, but if you think that’s “advocating violence”, you have a comprehension problem.

Wishing14 · 11/09/2025 06:25

@TinyIsMyNewtok so read comments in this post - https://www.instagram.com/p/DOcCj4RksUw/?igsh=MWR4cTJiMjA2YjZ3Mg== It shows a huge amount of intolerance and hatred, from the liberal left

DdraigGoch · 11/09/2025 06:25

Wishing14 · 11/09/2025 05:44

The radical left ARE the new facists. They have become the very thing they claim to hate. Reading any comments on dedications to Charlie Kirk shows just have low the ‘liberals’ have fallen. Just like when Trump was shot. It’s almost unnerving that they cannot see themselves

I wonder how Trump's ear healed so quickly without any scarring.

Wishing14 · 11/09/2025 06:28

@DdraigGoch do you? What’s your point? I’ve not been sitting up close to him to notice.

urmyworld · 11/09/2025 06:29

The problem in America is everyone needs a gun
now for protection of others with guns.

DdraigGoch · 11/09/2025 06:30

thebabayaga2025 · 11/09/2025 05:54

Yep. You can. As proven by this thread.

Fascism is an authoritarian ideology that prioritises state control, suppresses dissent and free speech, and uses violence and propaganda to enforce ideological conformity.

You mean like this AI slop the POTUS posted while threatening to send troops into a city who voted against him? That sort of propaganda?

Freedom of speech isn't tolerated by some

Of course the US has left-wing…. Looks at Bernie Sanders, AOC, and in particular, the likely new mayor of NYC, Zohran Mamdani,
who’s every bit as left wing as Corbyn.

DdraigGoch · 11/09/2025 06:32

thebabayaga2025 · 11/09/2025 05:57

No, he didnt. Link to your claim or stfu.

"STFU" from someone claiming to support free speech. The irony.

RealityChequing · 11/09/2025 06:35

The ‘poor Charlie’ brigade are championing free speech, whilst saying that some comments on his death are disgusting and unacceptable and need removing. Oh the irony. You can’t have it both ways.

Auroraloves · 11/09/2025 06:35

Whether you agree with him or not, the fact that he was murdered in such a prominent way for speaking his views is disturbing.

Be afraid that freedom of speech is being eroded

I wouldn't call any of them that left, they're all pretty centrist when compared to many European countries. Remember, the Tories took on some of Corbyn's policies!

Wishing14 · 11/09/2025 06:38

@RealityChequingthey can say what they want, but it’s very telling, that’s the point.

Wishing14 · 11/09/2025 06:39

He was killed for having an opinion people disagreed with. And some people are celebrating that @RealityChequing

Just seems a bit odd that after apparently being shot his ear was absolutely fine weeks later. Something fishy going on there.

Bernie Sanders is a centrist by the standards of any European country.
