Political violence on the rise.

People are getting angry when people have Political views they don't agree with. Freedom of speech must be allowed not shutdown.

Tragic news of a young family man shot by someone today. Please remember he was a human with a family. Violence is never ok.

Shame you didn't see Charlie Kirk celebrating a politicians husband being attacked by a hammer, isnt it?

If you're going to champion political violence, you can't really complain when you fall victim to it.

The radical left ARE the new facists. They have become the very thing they claim to hate. Reading any comments on dedications to Charlie Kirk shows just have low the ‘liberals’ have fallen. Just like when Trump was shot. It’s almost unnerving that they cannot see themselves

It's horrifying. It seems to be actual cult insanity. And, like most women on mumsnet, I voted left until a few years ago. They pretend not to believe that though. If you look up the BITE stages of cult indoctrination you will see that these awful, frightening savages fit the bill. The furthest right and the radicalised far left have met in the middle.

Imagine even thinking for one moment you should be pleased by a law abiding man who called for rational debate being slaughtered by a fucking maniac - and then having the actual nerve to smugly write that down in a post. JFC. They're terrible, horrible, frightening people.

You can't be far left/fascist and liberal!

If you're going to be happy that a completely law abiding man and father of young children who always called for rational debate was slaughtered by a lunatic it's actually quite safe - because nobody who is not a far leftist radicalised nutter would try to kill you for making those revolting fucking comments. Your cult is the danger.

We see you.

He seemed to be someone who wanted to shut down other people's free speech with violence.

Why are people so deluded that they think the far right = free speech? It just means that you are free to hear other people with the same views. They are fascists.

Only under a liberal society you get to hear a range of views.

I often disagreed with what Charlie Kirk said, but he was literally the opposite of that.

His whole mission was to discuss and debate pretty much anything. He always allowed the other person to put their view across, even if he was merciless in then countering views he disagreed with.

You may hate the Republicans in the US, but they are strong advocates of freedom of speech, more so than in the “liberal” UK when you can arrested for writing an insulting tweet as Graham Linehan discovered.

BollyKnickerz · 11/09/2025 05:51

YankSplaining · 10/09/2025 23:31

Yes, “literally nothing” like you. Because we’re not both democracies with similar judicial systems, and we don’t speak the same language, and we don’t consume each other’s arts and pop culture as a matter of course, and the US has become a completely different species - genus and species! - from the UK, merely 250 years since the original thirteen states were British colonies.

Quit making statements that are so hyperbolic that they make you sound more ignorant than I’m sure you really are.

What a horrible post.

We speak the same language as south Africans too. Funnily enough that does not make one culturally similar.

You do realise most of the world listens to US pop music and TV?

Who's ignorant again ?

You can't be far left/fascist and liberal!

Yep. You can. As proven by this thread.

Fascism is an authoritarian ideology that prioritises state control, suppresses dissent and free speech, and uses violence and propaganda to enforce ideological conformity.

His ridiculous views got absolutely roasted by any intelligent audience. And he did incite violence against those with different views.

Celebrating an elderly man being attacked with a hammer is rational debate, by your standards?

You don't see shit.

They are literally and genuinely just making shit up to try to make themselves feel better about having an orgasm over a young father being slaughtered by a maniac. They are fucking vile cultists.

He didn't. Find the link to your claim.

I see all the vile fascist cultists crowing and creaming their knickers over the slaughter of a young father who was a law abiding citizen who believed in free speech and rational debate.

Wishing14 · 11/09/2025 05:57

@SewNotHappyyou get bogged down by definitions, which as you should know change over time. The far left is becoming an ideological view that forcefully opposes alternative views and hates freedom of speech. They are becoming the thing they hate.

They have long since passed "becoming". Look at the arrest of Graham Linehan and now the crowing and joy over a law abiding young man being slaughtered by a loon.

@TinyIsMyNewti would be interested to see that link too.

TheSixthBestOption · 10/09/2025 23:44

Why do you keep repeating the same lies about a man who has just been murdered? He was a devout Christian who believed that all killing and violence is wrong. One of the reasons he became so well known in the US was because he would go to university campuses and debate calmly with people who disagreed with him, and often insulted and shouted and insulted him. He believed that people with opposing views should be able to sit down together and talk about their views calmly and that only by listening to each other's views would there be increased understanding and less violence.

Why the did he advocate for guns then, if all killing was wrong. And public executions?

spoonbillstretford · 11/09/2025 06:00

Yes, in the UK you can be arrested and imprisoned for publicly inciting racial hatred or violence - freedom of speech comes with responsibility and limits.

This case shoss what happens when people incite violence. People get violent. Hence the law.

Right. Anyway, I am out, just wanted these vile creatures to know that I know what they are. In fact, everyone knows what they are, I am not reading any more of this repulsive filth, listening to them excitedly pleased that a young father was slaughtered by a loony from their camp is just too revolting.

Look at someone arrested for inciting hatred and violence.

Look at someone murdered for inciting hatred and violence.

Hmm, I wonder why there are laws which limit freedom of speech?

Think on.

I’ve listening to him quite a bit and, whereas I’ve often strongly disagreed with him, I’ve never heard him advocating violence against those with different views.

Provide some evidence or you’re slandering a dead man.

And Liberalism is the opposite of that. Liberalism is a political and social philosophy that promotes individual rights, civil liberties, democracy, and free enterprise.

Wishing14 · 11/09/2025 06:11

@TinyIsMyNewt So he claimed the man might actually be a gay lover? So by that he doesn’t deserve sympathy? It’s a bit of a reach. Again, I’ve never seen him incite violence.

It is, and I’d describe myself as a liberal by that definition.

The issue is that it’s become a term that’s been appropriated over the past couple of decades by the Left, and co-opted into their much more authoritarian and intolerant philosophy.
