Ours works out as around £55-60 a month extra after tax, I know it's better than nothing but bills, mortgage , transport etc. Will outweigh it..
Anyone else?

Local government. We haven’t had it yet, but always get one. A piddly amount that I don’t even notice. I think it’s about 3.2% this year.

It’s really only the public sector that get pay rises.

I don't think that's the case. I work in the private sector and apart from last year I've had a pay rise every year for the last 20+ years. Didn't get one last year as I'd handed my notice in.

HappierTimesAhead · 08/09/2025 17:31

Nope. Might get made redundant. Husband might get made redundant. It feels like we are in a recession.

FuckoffeeBeforeCoffee · 08/09/2025 17:34

I got 1.5% earlier this year. No car allowance increase. September is usually bonus month and I doubt it’ll be much, if anything at all.

SimoneHere · 08/09/2025 17:35

10% as part of a promotion that I have been working towards for 3 years.

It sounds good, but inflation over that time has been 14%, so in real terms I’m getting less that when I started 🙄

LuckysDadsHat · 08/09/2025 17:36

1.8% currently which is fuck all.

CountessCecily · 08/09/2025 17:39

I got a 2% rise in April. The same day my HA landlord who is also my employer increased my rent. So along with all of the other increases in bills from April, I'm now taking home less money than this time last year.

Local government. 4%.

TartanMammy · 08/09/2025 17:56

Union are still negotiating, have asked for 5% we'll be very lucky to get even half of that.

DP got 4.25%, NHS, with 3.75% next year.

Ok I will change it to ‘mostly’ public sector.

NuovaPilbeam · 08/09/2025 18:00

No. Private sector company, we had redundancies. The lowest paid staff got an inflation based uplift, anyone on a higher wage got nothing unless promoted.

daffodilandtulip · 08/09/2025 18:01

Nope. On some days, I don't even get minimum wage 👍

I'm a "free" childcare provider, being hated and scammed by the government on every level.

ovalisinvincible · 08/09/2025 18:01

7% for us this year

Audiwannabe · 08/09/2025 18:05

No, work in hospitality so absolutely no chance either.
Few pence above min wage for a lot of responsibility.

But I'm always reading how people say using hospitality is a rip off and they don't want to pay more so I've got absolutely no chance until min wage catches up or exceeds my wage, because people can't afford to (I certainly can't) use hospitality services, or won't because they don't like paying what it costs if they put the prices up so I can get one.

Of course all my bills are going up, rent, insurance, utilities, shopping.

Hey ho.

Kitchenbattle · 08/09/2025 18:09

Private sector. 4.5% and 8% bonus each year.

WinterNightStars · 08/09/2025 18:10

Nothing last year, nothing this year

MyLimeGuide · 08/09/2025 18:41

Im a teacher we all get 4% this month - teachers are favoured by labour because of the unions.

caringcarer · 08/09/2025 18:43

Foster Carer 5 percent. Most of it goes on increased food and electricity prices.

Chester23 · 08/09/2025 18:47

2.3% but we didnt get one last year. we lost our bonus last year and won't be getting one this year. Also lost a £50 voucher they give to everyone at Christmas.

KaitlynnFairchild · 08/09/2025 19:03

I work in the private sector and we get a rise every year usually around 3% though we got 9% and 6% the last couple of years because inflation has been so high.

Amba1998 · 08/09/2025 19:07

Private sector professional services think accountancy / law firm type

11%

had 9% most years for last 5

Sundaymorningcalla · 08/09/2025 19:09

3.75% + 1.5% performance based increase

Private sector, FTSE 10 company.

mcmen05 · 08/09/2025 19:20

No, I asked and was told your on top wage for your role but my contract has different title to his reply email and says wage will be reviewed yearly so the word reviewed doesn't necessarily mean an increase.
I had to cancel my pension payment thought they would give me employer part but no.
All male staff seem to get more than female and it's so annoying but I can't comment on other people as that would look unprofessional as I do wages.
My contract has Management Accountant but the Accounts assistant left was not replace work split out and he now called me the accounts assistant if I complain I just get silent treatment and no Hr dept to speak to.
Feel I have no were to turn to.

ratatouille99 · 08/09/2025 19:23

Charity sector. Haven't had a pay rise for 4 years.
