The cooler breeze is refreshing and the rain was needed.

I’ll still never believe a pumpkin latte makes up for 6 months of cold, rain dark though

Nor me. I bloody hate autumn. Christmas and New Year are OK but, otherwise, life doesn’t restart until March.

The end of March at that! March can be brutally cold. But at least it’s getting a bit lighter. I’ve depressed myself now!

Abracadabra12345 · 06/09/2025 17:59

I’ve loved getting up early and sitting outside. I hated the summer heatwaves and boring hot weather and was so relieved we finally had lower temperatures in August after months of on-off heat and brightness.

I feel at peace - even though it’s a warm weekend here. At least temperatures should drop after Monday

Scotland.

no heatwaves here. Not even a little wave.

🤣

Where in the country are you?! In the south east, we've had 4 heatwaves in 3 months!

The same in north west Scotland!

LaurieFairyCake · 06/09/2025 18:33

My favourite time of year this run up to Christmas, the light is so beautiful and it’s lovely and warm

That's not true, at least not of the whole of Scotland. I'm in Glasgow and we had an epic summer and also a glorious Spring.

MyIvyGrows · 06/09/2025 18:45

There’s something to enjoy about every season. Being miserable about it must make it so much worse - put a cost on and get some fresh air. Cold and rain won’t kill you.

VivaForever81 · 06/09/2025 18:49

No, I’m going on holiday in 8 days though for two weeks and the temperature will be 30 degrees plus, I can’t wait!

pinkbackground · 06/09/2025 18:50

Nope. I work outside and I’m a creature of warmth. Time to fish out the thermals soon.

Dramatic · 06/09/2025 18:53

No, I hate autumn/winter except for Christmas. My feet are like permanent blocks of ice from October to march 😭

Oldraver · 06/09/2025 19:09

I'm enjoying not sweating all night, our bedroom is so hot

I don’t think anyone has said they stay indoors? I’m out walking my dog for a good two hours a day in it… then out in it again watching kids play sport… but I can still not enjoy the lack of light, colder weather, wind and rain..

tarmacpheasant · 06/09/2025 19:36

Yes! Looking forwards to the first frosty but sunny morning and all the leaves changing. Winter can be a bit bleak where I live. Costal and rural, very grey and bland. So anything but that is exciting 😁

cobrakaieaglefang · 06/09/2025 19:59

I only enjoy 'proper' seasons..instead we tend to get wet, mild and grey from Oct to March, utterly depressing. This summer has been bloody marvellous. My dog didn't enjoy it, but lots of late walks and trips to woodlands helped and were enjoyable for us. The evenings drawing in are already lowering my mood.

Hedjwitch · 06/09/2025 19:59

We've had a glorious spring and summer in my part of Scotland. I don't want it to end. Love wearing shorts and being tanned and barefoot. Autumn can be pretty if its dry but it heralds winter and short hours of daylight and all the miserable dreichness.

Greenwriter76 · 06/09/2025 20:05

WafflesOrIceCream · 06/09/2025 00:17

Oh my god yes I'm enjoying the cooler weather. Autumn and spring are my favourite seasons.

Same.

GroovyChick87 · 06/09/2025 20:07

Yes, love it.

BrendaSmall · 06/09/2025 20:09

NO!!
Absolutely hate it!
Dark until 6.00 am and dark at 20.30 !
Soon the whole place with trees will start looking a real mess when the leaves start falling off!
Bring back long hot sunny days!!

Titsywoo · 06/09/2025 20:10

I love all the seasons but this year I am grateful for the break in the heat. Im very much peri-menopausal and have been struggling with feeling too hot constantly. Poor DH had to hide under the duvet as the bedroom was like a freezer with the air con on full blast.

Delatron · 06/09/2025 20:13

If I had air con I’d have been very happy with that heat. That was the only downside - I struggled to sleep. But still prefer that to getting up in the dark - my body clock hates it and it feels unnatural. Love bright summer mornings and evenings.

I get plenty of fresh air on the way to work and back in the dark, cold and rain thanks. Can't see any joy in that.

MrsRuthFisher · 06/09/2025 20:46

I love it from now until the end of November, then hate it until April.

I used to really like summer, but not how it's been this year! Many, many a night I've been in the garden naked, sweating my tits off. Menopause and heatwaves ARE NOT OK.

AliceMaforethought · 06/09/2025 21:17

I am so grateful for the nights drawing in and also the slightly darker mornings. Light all the time makes me quite anxious.

CalzoneOnLegs · 06/09/2025 21:20

It’s so much quieter

Same, I find it really draining. I popped out to the shop about 7.30 tonight and it was so nice to see the sun setting at a reasonable hour.
