The cooler breeze is refreshing and the rain was needed.

Nope. I loathe autumn. I feel like I’m just waiting it out between October and March until spring.

NuovaPilbeam · 06/09/2025 07:25

Yes I love it!!

xSideshowAuntSallyXx · 06/09/2025 07:26

I love our seasons, I love hot sunny weather, but I love Autumn and feel it's just about time for a change.

However this week I was wondering if it was ever going to stop raining. Yesterday was lovely, I sat outside with my laptop with the warm Autumn sun on my face.

MidnightPatrol · 06/09/2025 07:27

As we have had such a fabulous summer, I am able totally take the autumn weather with good grace and enjoy the crisp mornings.

Not so keen on the rain though… after 4-5 months of ‘let’s go outside’ as the default activity, having to consider the weather again is a bit annoying.

Gettingbysomehow · 06/09/2025 07:34

I lived in the tropics for several years and the thing I missed the most were the beautiful seasons. When its just boiling and sweaty 24/7 you long for crisp autumn days and hot chocolate in front of the fire.
This thread must have crept into my unconscious, I dreamt last night it was late autumn and I had a stinking cold 😂

Sourisblanche · 06/09/2025 07:36

I’m a spring and summer person through and through and usually dread autumn and winter. But this year I’ve been enjoying the change to cooler days and rain. I’m even looking forward to getting some pumpkin decs out. I don’t know what’s come over me!

DashboardConfession · 06/09/2025 07:37

Yes. I went for the most gorgeous run yesterday. 6am, clear sky, nip in the air!

Elbowpatch · 06/09/2025 07:38

No. I want the 30 degree warm winds back please.

TalkToTheDog · 06/09/2025 07:48

I’m loving the cooler weather. I can enjoy running again and our animals are much happier. We will be putting the autumn decor out this weekend. 🍂

ChickalettasGiblets · 06/09/2025 07:56

Urgh no I hate autumn and winter. Bring back summer!

Me too. The endless months of cold damp weather can just get in the bin.

mickandrorty · 06/09/2025 08:02

Oh yes that and the return of mens tops!

gallivantsaregood · 06/09/2025 08:09

No! Bring back Summer!

Haruka · 06/09/2025 08:11

Not really.

The darkness and humidity affect my mood and I can suffer quite a bit from SAD that my lamp can only do so much to keep at bay.

It makes a lot of things harder - drying washing, upkeep of the garden, more moisture and colder temperatures hasten decay. My hair is practically unstylable most of autumn and winter because even a tiny bit of moisture get it frizzy.

People are less friendly, and, crucially, far less likely to pick up their dog shit - a particular issue around here.

Outside events are less likely to be enjoyable in the drizzle.

Saisong · 06/09/2025 08:12

Me, me, pick me miss!

Loving being able to go in the garden and not feel like a stuck pig within 5 minutes. My lawn has completely died and I have spent all my gardening time just trying to make things survive. Finally I can do something more creative in it.

My hair won't be constantly sweaty, I can use a duvet, no one will have to suffer my pasty legs, and I can open the curtains and windows during the day.

I love autumn!

I lived and worked in the Middle East for a few years. Seasons were hot and hotter with a few sandstorms.
I love all seasons and enjoy the changes.

SomeLikeitSnot · 06/09/2025 08:16

Yesss I love autumn. Love being more comfortable love wrapping up. We’ve had such a lovely summer which I’ve adored so I feel so ready for some snugglyness!

butterpuffed · 06/09/2025 08:35

Autumn's my favourite season . Heatwaves mean more freckles and bright red skin, have never tanned.

itsachickeninnit · 06/09/2025 09:12

Yes, I had my old lady blanket over me watching tv last night 😁

I live on a small island in the far north west. Our highest temp this year was possibly 21c. Am I looking forward to months of bad weather and cancelled ferries? Autumn is certainly very brisk here. I would love for all the autumn lovers to come here with their stylish coats and boots for a weekend and see how others live

Or you could move somewhere with a more congenial climate.

AliceMaforethought · 06/09/2025 09:24

I love it. Autumn is my favourite season, followed by Spring. It's not just the cooler temperatures, it is the quality of the air and the way the air smells different. I love walking through the crisp leaves, as well.

That sounds like a nightmare. I don't understand all these people who love living in Arrakis.

Yep! My favourite time of year, cannot wait for the leaves to start changing because the colours are beautiful.

As someone who works in education though, I am slightly devastated the summer holidays are over 🤣

SushiDisco · 06/09/2025 09:33

I love all the seasons and the transition from one to the other! It always feels like a fresh start and nice change.

louderthan · 06/09/2025 09:57

I love autumn weather but dread Christmas, so I have mixed feelings tbh…!
