To think Farage surely has to go

So Farage has some dodgy private company set up to avoid paying tax. Is he being pressured to resign as head of Reform? Of course not. Because he’s an entitled privileged man.

The double standards are incredible really. Here’s the story https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2025/sep/05/nigel-farage-uses-private-company-to-pay-less-tax-on-gb-news-earnings

While I think Rayner had to resign, why are the same standards not being applied?

Nigel Farage uses private company to pay less tax on GB News earnings

Exclusive: Reform leader’s use of personal services firm is a practice criticised across the political spectrum

The US ranks towards the top for the unequal distribution of wealth, it is awful because there is a minimal safety net.

There are still safety nets. In the UK we too used to the unaffordably cotton wool we wrap everyone up in.

Quite right. She's obsessed. I've worked in Sweden and they are more anti immigrant than we are here. It not all roses across the north sea.

You've worked in Sweden- yeah right!

Which wouldn't be needed so extensively if there was more of a balance in wealth distribution. Sadly, the Tories 14 years of austerity has done irreparable damage to this country!

Why?

Why is it not comparable ? Because it’s a tiny population and small economy in comparison to the U.K. and you’re claiming economic growth is due to high taxes. Growth % is easily squed by some billionaires or one industry. The high growth you’re taking about is less than 4%, it’s about 12 billion which is almost entirely down to wegovy.

I worked in Stockholm, I went every couple of weeks, I was an expert in getting the Arlanda Express. You don't believe anything that doesn't tie into your narrow socialist view of the world. I starting to think I arguing with bot set to disagree with anything that posted.

Highly odd that you've only just referred to that and I knew you were going to tell me you worked in Stockholm🙄, it really doesn't add anything to the fiction.

I'm worked across Europe. It's hardly a surprise that someone has worked for a bit in Sweden. The Swedish corporate world is pretty focused into Stockholm. I'm also worked in France, Spain, Italy, Germany and others. I even went to Copenhagen for one deal as you love Denmark so much. I used to fly every week. Maybe I just have more life experience so my view comes from a more educated place.

Did you mean to write, 'I've' rather than, "I'm worked across Europe." and "I'm also worked"? You may have lived longer than me, due to being older than me but that sounds about it!

Don't worry through. Everyone's a socialist when they are young. As you get more experience you'll understand why it not the way forward

What are you on about- the better standard of living is all an illusion, they don't have a strong economy because really the data is based upon a few billionaires and one industry! Other indicators of individual standard of living almost all exceed the UK so Human Freedom Index (The Cato Institute)Gross Domestic Product per capita (The World Bank),GDP per capita based on purchasing power parity (The World Bank)Life expectancy (The World Bank)Homicide rate (WHO, United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime)Mortality caused by road traffic injury (The World Bank)Corruption Perceptions Index.

No patronise me. I know the history. That is one of the reasons they always give in. Many unions members used to have to pay fees to the Labour party as part of their membership - fortunately that has reduced. It's only a matter of time until Reform will reduce the Union rights thank god.

Do you like having a 5-day work week? You can thank the unions for that.

PhuckTrump · 10/09/2025 17:41

Goldenbear · 10/09/2025 15:29

Do you want to emulate the U.S. where wealth inequality is extreme and many live in poverty akin to third world countries.

And you forgot to mention….there is ZERO right to maternity pay in the States. Zilch. Some employers offer a few weeks as a gesture of goodwill.

Oh yes, absolutely!

If you watch or have watched the documentary on Netflix, 'Katrina Come Hell And High Water' it really does demonstrate the huge problems that come with such wealth inequality.

30% of the population are saying they will vote for change at the next election. Real change not son of a toolmaker change which is it turns out was just a buzz word for more of the same. Last we find that the Deputy Prime Minister is kicked out for tax fraud, this week the first political appointment for US ambassador is going to get kicked out for cosy up to a child abuser. At the current rate there weren't be anyone left to fight Reform in the next election.

"Real Change" what, from the guy who brought us Brexit?

Fleetheart · 10/09/2025 18:22

it always makes me
laugh when people say they want a change! Oh yeah so you would move house to a place you know nothing about, where you don’t know what the rules are and how you will be treated - just because you want a change! Of course not, you would research a bit first. But people seem to go oh yeah I fancy a complete change let’s vote for the complete unknown which has not been planned out and there is no one with any experience in charge. Just for a change!

What are you on about

As a recap, I’m on about you writing ‘You can have strong economic growth, high taxes and strong Trade Unions,’ in reference to Denmark to justify left wing policies. I explained how you can’t really compare two counties with vastly different population sizes and economies, how small economies can be heavily influenced by small events and gave an example of the recent strong growth of 3.7% in Denmark being due to fat loss injections. Make sense?

It's just a different mind set. The difference between people who book the same holiday to Butlins every year because it might be crap but they know what to expect versus those who go Thailand one year, Mexico the next - they may like it they may not but at least they tried.

it’s absolutely not the same! - a couple of weeks holiday is very different from a government who affects every aspect of our life.

Well you can and the 'left wing' government in Denmark is not as you evidently understand it to be, it's a centrist government.

I listed all the other indicators of a economic prosperity that top UK every single time including GDP per capita, this has not only happened in the last year with Fat injections. I appreciate none of this makes sense to you though - evidently.

Yes you’ve gone off on a bit a tangent again about low mortality rates from traffic accidents in Denmark because of trade unions, it’s quite hard to keep up.

It's only 4 years. Just like with this Government we gave them a chance, they have failed in the most spectacular way in less than one. So we just cross our fingers and hope they don't fuck it up too much more and vote in Reform at the next election. If they fail we'll vote in someone else. It is going so badly, you could think of it as in a game of play your cards right, and we've been given a three, whilst it possible that if you vote higher you might lose, it could be a two, on balance your more likely to win. Alternatively using your moving analogy, imagine your current house is in Hull, you could more pretty much anywhere and it would be better, so exactly where doesn't matter too much.

I think she might be from the Danish Tourist agency - she's obsessed with Denmark.
