To think Farage surely has to go

So Farage has some dodgy private company set up to avoid paying tax. Is he being pressured to resign as head of Reform? Of course not. Because he’s an entitled privileged man.

The double standards are incredible really. Here’s the story https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2025/sep/05/nigel-farage-uses-private-company-to-pay-less-tax-on-gb-news-earnings

While I think Rayner had to resign, why are the same standards not being applied?

Exclusive: Reform leader’s use of personal services firm is a practice criticised across the political spectrum

Again though, what are their policies?

Strip everyone of their rights, get rid of the rule of law (cause that's just for libtards, innit) and finally deport anyone who's a shade too brown (passport and status irrelevant). Job done. Pint anyone?

Unfortunately, not satire.

Oh yes, I remember now, cuts to benefits, they're big on that aren't they so big on taking more money off the poorest in society.

What is the impact on the economy of leaving the EHCR? I'm all ears.

Benefits of leaving ECHR? At least as good as Brexit 😅

doubleshotcappuccino · 08/09/2025 12:22

I cannot believe anyone with any basic grasp of humanity or facts vote reform -you can see from the protests who is their core voter

HRTQueen · 08/09/2025 12:22

I think it is a more sensible idea for the other parties to work at gaining confidence from voters and at the time of the election if Farage is still looking like he could win or become the opposition voters have to be encouraged to vote tactfully

He isn't going anywhere he will have lawyers around him advising him of how he can avoid taxes

The one thing that may hold Farage back is himself, he is a campaigner, and unfortunaly a good one. The day to day work of politics I think bores him and he may just get bored and step back, but that's not to say he won't suddenly pop up again at the right time

It’s not a game. You’re asked what Reform’s policies are - the ones that will yield a landslide victory the year after next - and you link to its 2024 manifesto. The one that gave them five seats. Surely it’s not unreasonable to ask what’s changed?

Convenient as you know nothing about it presumably.

What are Reform policies, what are we voting for? All I hear from them is what they aren't going to do i.e. what the government does, what is their plan? They seem very good at criticising but completely lack answers and substance.

Well, voters have seen the all promise and no substance with Labour. I guess they reckon they've got nothing to lose.

Apparently Labour couldn’t tell anyone before the GE as people would steal them or something.

I wouldn’t bother it’s just Labour hounding. Mn is out of step with voting intention anyway.

It certainly is out of step. Rayner has helped Reform. Nice one Ange 👏

Sadly I think that the negative impact of a Reform government will absolutely dwarf that of Brexit. If ever there was a fight for the future of the UK, it's this one. I know it sounds dramatic but I am following what's going on in the US pretty much in real time. MAGA, Reform, same difference, and we do not want that shit here. Plus, we're not equipped to deal with such nonsensical 'policies' in the way the US is (we're a much smaller economy to start with, and we're not a federation). It would be an utter disaster.

Again, a vague response that doesn't tell me anything about what Reform stand for.

I think you are very wrong here

Not all reform supporters will go out and protest

If we think this is only who he appeals to we are in seriously trouble

Many were shocked at Brexit, but it really should not have been that much of a shock its just that many interested in politics often stay in their echo chambers and many MP's are out of touch with voters

They stand for not being Labour or the Cons. Its quite simple really.

I don't know anybody who are intending on voting for Reform, none of them are on Mumsnet!
