Be absolutely honest, would you consider only fans/sex work if it guaranteed you’d be rich?

If you were being 100% honest hypothetically. Would you consider sex work/only fans/webcam work if you could guarantee you’d become rich.

Obviously completely hypothetical because in reality most of us probably wouldn’t be able to make much money, we’ve probably got children to consider, you might already be well off.

But if it was the difference between working in a job you hate until retirement, or doing sex work for 10 years and then being able to retire a millionaire, if it was safe and you only had yourself to please. Could you forget your morals and do it? Do you think you could live with it?

Yabu - no
Yanbu - you’d consider it.

If you would consider it, do you think you’re a highly sexualised person anyway, maybe multiple sexual partners, able to separate sex from emotions.

If I would make a decent amount of money and it wouldn’t affect my future job opportunities I’d definitely do it.

Love13 · 04/09/2025 15:46

It’s interesting that there are people who say a flat no. Not for all the money in the world. Then others say they’d consider certain things.

I’m definitely in a camp of ‘I’d do certain things’. Like I said it’s totally hypothetical.

If Only Fans had been around when I was young I think I’d definitely have considered it. I think I could quite easily forget my morals for large sums of money.

It’s a bit of an unsavoury topic, but it fascinates me what separates those that would/definitely wouldn’t,

Yep 👍 would have no issues as long as it was solo or with my husband or videos only. But then I made quite a lot of money working as an escort in my late teens / early twenties and have no issues separating sex / feelings.

DaisyChain505 · 04/09/2025 15:46

No. Never.

I’d rather have less money, less lavish things and keep my dignity and soul.

Getting my bits out on camera and shoving things inside me for the pleasure of anonymous dirty men will never pay enough for me to consider it.

TheNinkyNonkyIsATardis · 04/09/2025 15:51

I have no moralistic objections to truly voluntary sex work, but I also happen to be very basic in my wants and don't want to be a sex worker.

I can make money in more interesting ways - I've found a good but slightly boring niche and I'm happy enough with that

unsevered67 · 04/09/2025 15:53

No. I don’t want to encourage men to continue to see women as sexual objects. And the thought of the kind of men I might be exposing myself to would turn my stomach.

Ihaveoflate · 04/09/2025 15:54

I did some glamour modelling when I was younger in the days when it was still print magazines. I don't regret it but I'm bloody grateful it was the days before the internet took off. I wouldn't want it coming back to haunt me.

I also did escort work in my early 20s alongside a professional career. It didn't make me rich but with hindsight, it really damaged my relationship with sex. I can separate sex from emotion but that hasn't been advantageous in my life overall.

Unicorn34 · 04/09/2025 15:57

A friend of mine tried Only Fans a few years ago, basically pics of her from behind so you couldn't see her face. She did get a few hundred for the weekend but gave up after 2 days as the messages and requests were relentless! Said it really wasn't worth the hassle unless you are willing "to be available" for more time than a full time job.

MsOlive · 04/09/2025 15:58

I couldn’t, and wouldn’t. My body is mine and I only want to share it with one person of my choosing .
Men who “use” sex workers, to me are revolting. Women who are sex workers, I understand they have a choice, but I think that the reality for many is that their choices are limited.

That’s interesting. I have never done anything like that.

However I did start having sex quite young and not in nice circumstances. I felt quite sexualised very young and I couldn’t wait to have sex for the first time.

I wonder whether it’s experiences that make you detached from sex or whether you’re just like that.

Im not saying that I’m detached from sex but I certainly could be if I needed to.

No. Not in a million years!

SardinesOnGingerbread · 04/09/2025 16:03

No. Not unless it was the only way of feeding my children (assuming no access to welfare state).

flopsyuk · 04/09/2025 16:04

No, I used to get stopped by men in London and ask to pose for photos. Offered good money.
Was also pestered for sex when waiting for a taxi or a bus.
The men were so sleazy. There was no way I could trust them even if I did want sex work.

Rickyrainfrogcroaks · 04/09/2025 16:14

If I had a perfect body
Yes why not

welcometotheblackparadee · 04/09/2025 16:18

I’d do it in a heartbeat if I could guarantee a stable, decent income out of it.

As it stands, it’s an oversaturated market and for the hundred odd quid a month the average OF creator makes, I wouldn’t be able to look my dad in the eye. 20 grand a month and I could, especially knowing I’d be able to look after my family and make their lives a little easier.

LaughingCat · 04/09/2025 16:22

Abso-bloody-lutely. I just can’t be arsed buffing my cellulite-laden thighs, painting my nails, buying lingerie or all the personal marketing you have to do. Feels like a lot of work and for the vast majority, little return. If I was guaranteed to be rich though, I couldn’t care less what the world thinks of me, I’d be on there selling premium photo packs or whatever they do on there like a pro.

Pricelessadvice · 04/09/2025 16:22

Feet pictures- absolutely!
I actually have really nice feet but no idea how you market them on those sort of sites.

Life’s short 😂

ElaineParrish · 04/09/2025 16:23

For those who would do it, remember that the photos/videos will be circulating for the rest of your life and beyond!

savethatkitty · 04/09/2025 16:23

Probably. Money talks.

mumofoneAloneandwell · 04/09/2025 16:26

Yeah why not but

As long as I was guaranteed anonymity and got to fuck clean and wealthy men, why not

Agree with pp, rich for me would be:
Owning a central london flat
Owning a flash car
Trips around the world paid for
School fees etc paid for

I wouldnt be on only fans or walking streets (I don't judge those who do) as I would need to be respectable

KimTheresPeopleThatAreDying · 04/09/2025 16:28

I look like the back of a bus but if in some alternate reality I made a ton of money from it then maybe. We all sell ourselves one way or another.

ChaToilLeam · 04/09/2025 16:32

Not worth it for the damage it would do to my peace of mind.

And? I think you have to care what people think for that to be an issue. But then, I used to DJ in a strip club and was friends with all the girls - they were not ashamed of what they did and weren’t upset if their child/bank manager/mum/neighbours knew. They still don’t care now. Paid a heck of a lot more for them than stacking shelves or slinging coffees. A lot of them did topless/nude modelling and/or escorting as well. The only reason I didn’t join them was because I’m dyspraxic and no-one wanted to see my clumsy arse attempt to shake my booty 😂

I think you either care about this stuff or you don’t - if you want to become a teacher, police officer or high-ranking diplomat - probably don’t do it, as it will be impossible to find work. If you’re not going into a field where it would impact your job security and you genuinely don’t worry about how people will view you, then it’s fine.

Coffeebeforechaos · 04/09/2025 16:35

Actual sex with randomers, no.

Only fans if I was guaranteed anonymity and it would make me rich, yes.

If I cant be anonymous then no

OtherS · 04/09/2025 16:51

If there was definitely no way anyone I knew would ever know, then definitely. If there was a good chance friends and family could find out then it would need to be an awful lot of money. I would only have sex for many, many thousands though. But if I could just show bits of body without anyone knowing, then yeah probably a couple of grand would convince me!
