Just that, they seem so deliriously in love in every picture I've seen of them.

More power to them if they are that happy, they've both hit the jackpot in so many ways.

But.. to still look so enthralled with each other after so many years??

Maybe it’s her that will run for president. She’s the brains of the outfit.

id love to see that!

She couldn’t run for President, you need to have been born in the USA,she was born in Beirut.

A lot of that absurd success is PR spin. She was just a junior entertainment lawyer pre-Clooney.

He's gay. She's a beard. The babies were carried by a surrogate. The rest is PR, arranged by the same fixers that brought her in to show he isn't gay, after the incident at Lake Como.

Are you honestly saying that she only has a career because of George clooney? She was an entertainment lawyer who has worked on trials at The Hague because of who she married? She’s in the Legal 500 and teaches at Columbia? All fixed? Do these gay messages boards say the earth is flat too?

Not sure what a lowly entertainment lawyer was doing at a meeting with Kofi Annan and Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin in 2012

Yes, that’s quite an astonishing deception.

silverygreen · 30/08/2025 09:03

Be that as it may, she majored in Entertainment Law in her one year at NYU.

Bambamhoohoo · 30/08/2025 09:07

Weepixie · 30/08/2025 03:36

Yet still you managed to downplay her professional achievements despite the evidence to the contrary.

How? You haven’t responded to explain why

That's not what you said though. You said she was "just a junior entertainment lawyer pre-clooney". That isn't true.

Why do you feel the need to rubbish her career?

Weepixie · 30/08/2025 09:17

And I won’t be explaining either.

The information needed to show your posts up for what they are is out there, they speak for themselves. End of.

Needmorelego · 30/08/2025 09:22

If there actually was "an incident" that happened in Lake Como do people really think he would stay living there?
Surely he would have left ASAP?

Bambamhoohoo · 30/08/2025 09:23

She wasn’t an entrainment lawyer and she IS highly successful.

being a barrister in a prestigious chambers is an incredible achievement that few make (although- not a unusual route from Oxford do) she is elite. But she’s one of many in London, and not the worldwide legal star some are portraying her as. As just some random person, I have 2 friends myself who are in the legal 500.

She’s pretty average in elite chambers, and you would expect to find a human rights barristers in The Hague, so again that’s not the achievement it’s being painted as.

that said, the professorships, and charity/ consultancy/ committee opportunities do seem to have come from her marriage. They were highly unlikely to have been offered based on her career before clooney.

I suspect from your post you don’t know what a junior barrister is and are offended on her behalf

YouonlyhaveonelifeGetagrip · 29/08/2025 23:38

Well there's no arguing with that. And you are someone who has the right to vote and to be on a jury.

Actually I’m not. Make of that what you will.

TartanBarmy · 30/08/2025 10:41

The description of her on her chambers website was likely written by her - that’s an advert. Like any other company profile.

I also know a few people in the “Legal 500” - it’s not as chichi as it makes out - one in particular is not a particularly good advocate but has charm and personality - by no means a great legal mind though!

Anyway. She has a good job but she is most well known for being George Clooney’s wife. I don’t think we’d have heard of her without that. And I think she’s as gay as he is! So there!

Needmorelego · 30/08/2025 10:46

Really though...
who cares?
They're married. So what? It's just a legal contract. There's no rules as to what sexual practices "must" happen in a marriage. That's up to the couple.
As long as everything that happens is legal then why does it matter?

RanyaJerodung · 30/08/2025 10:46

"so there!"
Really? Well, I admire any woman who got into Oxford and became a barrister.

Exactly. It obviously works for them, so good luck to them!

BadDinner · 30/08/2025 11:56

I would think knowing anyone who is in the 'legal 500,' is pretty rare.

And why the need to pour water on it and somehow dilute it's prestige? As if it's just a cut above someone working in a high street solicitors firm?

She's the only woman in that picture in the Kremlin that the pp put up above. Although it's a cropped picture so there may be others. But that's a massive achievement in itself and making pathways for women.

As women in law go, and certainly as Hollywood wives go she is elite. She would have been highly successful in her field without the Clooney name. Clearly it's boosted her profile and reach. Intelligent women in extremely advantageous marriages do tend to become more high profile if they carry on working and maximise their influence.

Has she got an OBE or any honours?

How comes she hasn't got one but Angelina Jolie has? That's interesting.

The “legal 500” is just a directory tbh, although it is of course prestige to be ranked and I very proud of those who I know who are.
But it’s not the 500 “top lawyers” -there are submissions for each discipline. Presumably she’s one of the top 500 human rights lawyers (in London)

Weepixie · 30/08/2025 13:28

A couple of interesting and factual link explaining the workings of the Legal 500

LesCigaresVolants · 30/08/2025 13:33

I know loads of people in the Legal 500. Including my husband, who has a god- like write up 😂. Many are average at best, they just have good PR in their firms and high profile cases/clients that make for impressive reading.

Wishimaywishimight · 30/08/2025 13:40

I think probably there are people who are a little jealous of what looks like an exceptionally charmed life - 2 good looking people, very rich and successful and seem really happy together - and try to make themselves feel better by saying it must all be fake.

NoSuchThingAsAFreeHoliday · 30/08/2025 13:58

Who cares about the 500. This is all semantics. By any reasonable definition she is a highly regarded lawyer and successful in her own right.

The desire to diminish this woman on this thread is startling.

I agree, she's well accomplished, there's no denying that.

And we need women like her to be in the room with the likes of Putin, Kofi etc.

In a funny way, Amal lost a bit of professional credibility by marrying George.

I was most surprised she changed her name.

Yes, my thoughts exactly. Especially pulling a woman of achievement down like that.
