Just that, they seem so deliriously in love in every picture I've seen of them.

More power to them if they are that happy, they've both hit the jackpot in so many ways.

But.. to still look so enthralled with each other after so many years??

He’s definitely gay. I can’t imagine him being straight

Now you mention it…I can’t either.

Bambamhoohoo · 29/08/2025 22:05

Duh, I mean obviously it must’ve been kylie

Ah, the tiny temptress has been the unmasking of many a famous man.

Why, once our own Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar, was scandalously revealed to be a devotee, even attending concerts, and had it not been known even to the dogs in the street that he was thoroughly glad to be gay, someone might have asked a question (probably about his not instead attending a Dubliners tribute band in a pub. Get out the national flags!)

SENMum1727 · 29/08/2025 22:52

Why would GC need a beard at this stage of life though? Any rumours circulating about him didn’t hurt his career when he was a leading man. Now he has businesses, tons of money and produces films, he really doesn’t need a fake marriage if he’s actually gay.

Agreed. He spent all his acting career as the eternal bachelor (which probably is connected to the gay rumours) and yet married much much older when he was winding down his career. Why would he bother at that point?

Bambamhoohoo · 29/08/2025 22:28

Why on earth would any of this work colleagues know whose sperm was used in their IVF?!? It’s not the sort of thing that gets out at work, is it?!

Eww…I sure hope not!

We’re talking about someone who could potentially marry a leader from the international courts, the UN, a political power or law maker from anywhere in the world. Someone who has some vague indirect influence in one of the political parties in the USA is a pretty marginal power compared to the people she meets.

Do you have any idea how much money it takes to get into those positions, who is raising that money and on what terms it is handed over? There’s nothing vague about the influence of the money men behind politicians.

Yes of course I do. That’s not related though is it? Amal could’ve married someone with real worldwide power that she could use. There are thousands of men as rich and much richer than GC who donate to political parties

YouonlyhaveonelifeGetagrip · 29/08/2025 23:08

Those insisting that he's gay, it's a fake marriage, IVF etc. Provide receipts...You 100% won't be able to. Because you are wrong. They really don't care that you post this crap. I care that so many people are happy not just to buy into fake news that suits their petty narrative but also to actively spread lies like this about something they know absolutely sweet FA about. It doesn't have consequences for the 0.01%. This ignorant approach and resort to "alternative facts", however, has very real consequences for everyone else.

Caplin · 29/08/2025 23:12

I’ve met them, they are both lovely, she is just so impressive, he clearly adores her, and he is incredibly charming whilst she is more shy.

Caplin · 29/08/2025 23:16

George has an incredible charity (The Sentry) which shuts down illegal money flows from Nigeria, guns, drugs, by closing down the bank accounts of gangs.

Together they have an incredible charity (Clooney Foundation for Justice) to help political prisoners like Nazanin Zahari Radcliffe. They are both doing a huge power of work in areas that they can’t really talk too much about due to security reasons.

Invinoveritaz · 29/08/2025 23:19

I’m pretty convinced she’s his beard. There have been so many stories for years and years about him on Popbitch. They were right about Jimmy Saville - obviously not comparing GC to JS but just saying popbitch are usually onto something when they do their stories.

abracadabra1980 · 29/08/2025 23:20

Wtf does beard mean in the context it’s been mentioned?

2021x · 29/08/2025 23:30

Honestly who cares.

There have been many political marriages (it’s a contract after all). As long as no one is being abused does it matter?

Someone paid to be his partner, to hide the fact he's gay.

It doesn't mean there isn't some kind of relationship going on, in the sense of.affection and trust

Well there's no arguing with that. And you are someone who has the right to vote and to be on a jury.

YouMightThinkThat · 29/08/2025 17:24

Lazy and not particularly well thought out comment.

GC is massively into human rights over the whole spectrum and the idea that someone of that mindset would go that far to keep himself in the closet is beyond absurd.

Not heard of the poor Italian boy, then.

Popbitch has also been very wrong about people and successfully sued by Max Beesley and Paddy McGuinness among others.

If you are a human rights advocate with a long term agenda for world wide change, do you marry,

  1. A transient politician, just the one, with a limited shelf life and influence, who could be out of his job within a few years and completely forgotten; who has to act/make policies that won’t piss off his big donors and at least attempt to observe the interests of the people he serves, both of whose interests may lie in very different places to that of his wife, and in fact whose interests may be the opposite of his wife’s HR agenda; and in fact, working with his wife’s agenda in mind could result in a direct conflict of interest and could be seen to be completely unethical and undemocratic, which would actually reflect pretty badly on both him and his wife, especially if she is involved in active legal cases that conflict with or even involve the government as a litigant, as many HR cases do; or

2 A massive, global star known for 30 years to have an HR agenda to the point of being seen as an expert in the field; who has used his interest in that agenda to influence successive leaders and would be leaders from one of two major parties that produces the most powerful leader in the world once every four years, and when one is done, he can just move straight on to the next one; all the while, he himself remains unfettered by conflicting interests, to do and say exactly what he wants to do and remain single mindedly focussed on the agenda, because he is a private citizen not accountable to an electorate; and as such, is absolutely willing and able to push his clever wife’s agenda free from conflict or question over his ethics - as is she, free from the taint of whatever a politician husband might have to do to remain in power. And he’s part of the Hollywood elite, that every would be leader wants to be cosy with, because they have the sort of soft power and influence and money that nobody who has come through politics via the traditional routes can possibly have. And on the side, wealthy (probably billionaire from all his non acting interests) husband can set up a foundation that can wield even more influence in your chosen field of HR influenced philanthropy, something a politician husband on even the most well paid public salary wouldn’t be able to fund.

My friend has met them. She applied for a post as their nanny. She said they were smashing. George answered the door himself and, frankly, if that’s not a banging start to an interview I can’t think what would be better.

Did she get the job?

Ok yes you win, George clooney was the only and ultimate political powerhouse option for marriage and we can see now how politically powerful Amal has become thanks to that.

silverygreen · 30/08/2025 00:07

daleylama · 29/08/2025 21:28

There is no record of a boy falling out of a window at George Clooney's Italian house in 2013 or any other time. But like all good scuttlebutt, why do some basic searches and spoil a good bit of implicit libel

Edited

He didn't fall out of a window, the story is he fell off a cliff either running away from or being chased by 'someone' at Clooney's villa in Lake Como.

That was in 2013. Then, the story goes, Amal was hired by fixers to be George's wife.

Well yes, she’s a household name now. How many other human rights lawyers can your average non lawyer name? And yes, together with her husband, she is massively influential amongst those who fund politicians.

If there were other marriage options who wielded more power, she didn’t marry them, did she.

Honestly, maybe theyre just in love! My husband and I are really quite loved up too, and it's kinda sad that people think there might be more to it haha

But a loving relationship cannot be allowed to go around unchallenged!
There must be stamping of feet and gnashing of teeth, and a crusading zeal to sniff out just one tiny iota of hypocrisy or bad faith there, so that the whole enterprise may more satisfyingly be mocked and made dirty by ravening observers.
What a time to be alive, to be sure.
