To be starting to worry that Reform will win next GE?

The polls have shown a consistent lead. Is there any realistic chance of Reform actually winning the next election?

I vote Labour, but it’s hard to see how they’ve managed to throw away such a lead in just a year, and it’s hard to see how their polling improves. The Tories maybe have more opportunity for improving, but we’re going to see a Reform government, aren’t we? Nigel Farage is going to be our next PM.

Labour won the last election because Reform split the Tory vote. I wonder if Corbyn's new party will split the left vote. I doubt it, it's a mess, but it's possible.

Labour won the last election because the country was sick and tired of the Tories and a lot of tactical voting was used to get them out. Hence the huge increase in Libdem wins and the wide and shallow majority.

I know I have said it before, but we have a bigger problem here that is more likely, and more destabilising. Some polls have shown that now that things are more fragmented, a possible outcome may be that no two parties are able to form a government. We need proportional representation before the whole system falls over.

Forty six months to go. At the same point in the last government https://yougov.co.uk/politics/articles/42448-voting-intention-con-35-lab-36-5-5-may

So you are just ignoring the 13% lead that Reform have over Labour now then 🤣🤣

Plus this is in light of Tories losing the last election 14 months ago. Labour should trouncing them in the polls.....wonder why on earth they aren't 🤔?

There’s definitely momentum now and every asylum seeker who is accused of criminal activity plays into their hands .

Shellyash · 04/09/2025 19:23

Any sensible party wanting to win will start noticing what the general public like about reform and begin to adapt some of their policies regarding what's national and British. There is an undercurrent of unhappiness in the whole woke thing, and in most European countries.

I don’t know anyone unhappy with ‘the whole woke thing’

Everyone l know supports it and is horrified by what’s happening.

your bubble doesn’t represent the general voting public though and it’s dangerous to think it does

there is a reason Reform are gaining popularity at a concerning rate and sadly the other parties do need to tap into this on some level

I don't know anyone that thinks it's a good thing. Young or old. But I'm not living in the south, perhaps things are different there.

Even you using Lefty Lot is an attempt at belittling and making fun off.

Tbf, though, we've had entire threads devoted to the men protesting outside the hotels. Lots of talk about gammons etc. There is absolutely more complaining about the right.

This is vile. Local guy speaks to Sky News about the impact of asylum seekers protests. Watch what happens and share widely

Just beat me to it. If anyone doubts how appallingly these people behave watch to the end.

Without meaning to be rude that speaks more about the company you keep. There's an entire subforum in here dedicated to the fight against wokeism. Specifically, woke people telling women they're bigots if they have an issue getting changed with naked men or being forced to compete against them in pro boxing/rugby etc.

It comprises half the feminist forum (having been created specifically to contain the overwhelming number of discussions on the topic) and is now may times busier than the general feminism subforum.

This is why everyone should be worried as parents with and child with SEND needs.

And yet 1200 women were sexually assaulted by Muslim men in one night, the majority of which were asylum seekers or recent arrivals. It's not an opinion, it's a fact. And it's far from the only incident.

Nobody wants to be singling out a particular demographic but it's impossible when the choice is us or them. By contrast, nobody is complaining about Sikhs or Hindus. Why might that be?

Papyrophile · 04/09/2025 20:59

I think Reform could win. Unless and until the mainstream political parties signal loud and clear that they are LISTENING to voters' concerns. And right now, voters really do not want endless third world migrants who want to ride Deliveroo bikes. Please go and fetch your own takeaway meals. If you are on a council housing list at number 01, and an asylum seeker with family reunification status qualification bumps you back to the bottom of the queue, then I think you have reason to be very angry indeed.

BurntBroccoli · 04/09/2025 21:10

I think Labour seriously need to start thinking of running the next election on a promise to rejoin the EU.

GingerPower · 04/09/2025 21:14

People often seem surprised that something like the Holocaust could happen in the last 100 years. However, when you start to witness the mental gymnastics people will employ to avoid cognitive dissonance it becomes a lot less surprising.

Like, somebody posted a quote above of a man talking about his wife and daughter being groped by a mob. The first reply was basically "well, that's for the women to worry about. If he's worrying about it then that's just another example of men policing our bodies."

Really? 😳 You can't see a problem with this incident? Can't understand why a man would (or should) have an issue with his wife and daughter being sexually assaulted in front of him?
