For those of you who think the flags and roundabout paintings are tacky...

What do you make of this house?

But one flag is the flag of the country on which the flag is being flown. The Palestinian flag is a flag of terrorist rulers. I’d say it’s easy to draw the distinction

It’s also a flag of oppressed people being murdered in their tens of thousands.

Are you claiming October 7th was entirely isolated from anything which had gone before ?

Rapre is not a weapon of resistance. Some people are so addled by their own misguided sense of righteousness they are lost beyond redemption.

Nor is it a weapon of oppression. Some people are so addled by their of misguided sense of entitlement that they are lost beyond redemption.

I genuinely don't get what that report is supposed to say. Rape is wrong whoever does it. I know male PoWs are generally stripped as a safety precaution because of weapons, that's standard AFAIK so I'm not surprised Israel does it too. Of course childbirth is harder in a war zone, Palestine started the war and won't surrender so I'm not sure what can be done about that, at least aid is going in which is more than be said for the many places around the world which are experiencing far worse. October 7th was a terrorist atrocity that Palestinians celebrated, there's no getting past that.

Ah, apologies I should have highlighted the part where the UN reports that Israeli soldiers did rape Palestinians including under explicit orders. Explicit orders of a modern first-world democracy.

And as you mention celebrating atrocities, well Israelis do that plenty too.

How do you feel about the Palestinians raping and torturing and murdering in the most grotesque ways civilians, women children and babies on Oct 7? This was purpose of the Palestinian attack on Israel

Raping of women in times of war by Israeli soldiers means those soldiers need to be held accountable if found guilty

HangryLikeTheHulk · 03/09/2025 18:39

It’s all abhorrent, but it’s wrong to describe what’s happening now as though it were isolated. The entire population of Gaza has been held hostage for years.

@ExtraOnions there are a number of threads on Mumsnet where people are objecting to the England and Union flags being flown on private property, one this week was started because the poster had asked their neighbour to remove it from their own land.

I live in an area absolutely festooned with Palestinian flags (mostly on public property) so lucky you,

To be fair I haven’t seen any of those, only ones like like this with a faux naïve opening post & pages of disinformation & arguing! There are plenty of those!

That's amazing tbf. It's football related, rather than having racist connotations. We wouldn't have decent football teams or the amount of good British boxers, if it wasn't for immigration.
On a seperate note, I'm watching King and conqueror and the way, Edward the Confessor, is being portrayed is diabolical. He was our patron saint before St George.

Edited

Weirdly St Patrick was born in Britain (either South Scotland or Wales or England, but either way he was a posh British bloke). Not really relevant just Saints are weird. I think St David was actually born Wales so that's something..
