DS middle name is after a character in BBC TV show that aired for 5 series and ended in 2012 just before he was born. The actor who played the role in question is still my favourite and I go to see him whenever he is on stage.

DS is named after the heroes of practically every book I ever read as a child.
It was also the name of a character on one of my favourite sitcoms from the 70s, although with hindsight he was a bit of an arse.

Yes, I have a Gina from the song Living on a Prayer. Also one named after Sinéad O'Connor. Another after Enya. They all suit their names.

When she was born in the early 90's, DD was named after a male actor. It was a name that (other than said actor), I had never heard before and growing up she was the only person in both primary and secondary school with that name. It's used more now and seems to be viewed as a girl's name.
