What do you think of the flags?

Apologies if this has been done already.

I live in one of the areas where the flags were started. We couldn’t understand what they were for until it popped up in the news. Apparently the councils are going to be taking them down.

I don’t really have much of an opinion either way but my concern is that they’ll soon become tatty, fall down and leave a mess everywhere. But it seems lots of people are loving them. They do look quite cheery at the moment.

What do people think?

Perhaps you could mention that to your flag shagger friends as they find it impossible to get by without insulting others, in fact that's their specialty isn't it? Their raison d'etre.

These threads are useful for exposing the fact that the right supporters lack a factual understanding of the issue, are unable to engage in discussion, lack critical thinking skills and generally just throw insults or tell you to ‘Google’ thing because they don’t understand basic law etc

I'm proud of my country for being so diverse and taking in people who are fleeing war and want a better and safer life. I'm not proud of the idiots who protest outside hotels and wave their flags because white skin is superior.

I think you will find your side made the insults and condescending with it .. Factual understanding is so gas lighting to the people who experienced visual evidence on a daily basis is beyond worrying

As far as I'm concerned these people are in the country illegally. And to make matters worse our taxes are paying for their accommodation and food. As a result it's likely our taxes will go up in the autumn budget .
We should either turn the boats round or deport them back to France ( a safe country) immediately they arrive.
And you are tying to persuade us that these people who wish to settle here are intimidated by our national flag.
