Reads like an April fool.

I've never heard of this tribe?

Also why should she be left alone. Imagine a brit trying to live in the US. Although can't blame her for leaving tbh.

Missing Texas woman found living among lost ‘African’ tribe in Scotland

Texas native Kaura Taylor has been found with the Kingdom of Kubala, a group living in a forest in Jedburgh.

I mean, tbf, I'm not sure fully signed up members of crazy African forest cult in Scotland are going to have the most rational arguments.

InterestedDad37 · 21/08/2025 10:38

😂😂😂

YourFavouriteFalafel · 21/08/2025 10:43

TIL Jerusalem is in Scotland

Kubricklayer · 21/08/2025 10:44

You've probably never heard of it because it's an almost overnight thing started by a couple of poeple. I live not far from Jedburgh and initially thought how have I never heard of this? After reading the article sounds like they've only landed there recently having been loitering around similar forests in the North East.

Scottish Borders Council says it is “working with Police Scotland” to manage the situation.
“This has included the provision of advice and information about housing options and other support services”.

God, I don't envy them 😂

TwelvePercent · 21/08/2025 10:50

I'd imagine some pissed off Scottish farmer has a less grand tale to tell about 'sex maniacs, shitting all over his woods' or something.

I shouldn't imagine sleeping in an open sided tabernacle will be great in Scotland in January? I hope there's no kids with them.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 21/08/2025 10:50

Grin Many thanks for this. Chancers or nutters, take your pick. Probably a bit of both. They'll find living in a tent without walls in Jedburgh a bit chilly as winter draws near.

I'm more baffled about how the African tribe arrived in Scotland??? Surely they didn't just hop on an Easyjet flight to Glasgow?! 😂

While thinking 'God, these twats have got themselves into the national news. We're going to have journos and wannabes crawling all over. Still, they might spend some money in the pubs.'

Their grasp of Scottish history appears to be tenuous, and there seems to be a hint of Freeman on the Land about them.

ThePhantomoftheEcobubbleOpera · 21/08/2025 11:22

I'd like to know how the Scottish stole the land from these poor, displaced African ancestors.

Well no. To get to Jedburgh a flight to Edinburgh is more convenient.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 21/08/2025 11:28

As the old boys in the village would say, they have been smoking too much wacky baccy

smallglassbottle · 21/08/2025 11:31

I think it's a bit sad that people who feel the need to live in the wild can't do so. I don't know why they chose the UK though, as it's so crowded and every inch of land is accounted for. There are no wild escapes. Some people tried in Wales, but they were found.

These people would have been better off going to Canada which has more remote places. I also don't know how they expect to survive with no mainstream foods, as it's impossible to live off wild food, unless you're planting your own crops.

ThePhantomoftheEcobubbleOpera · 21/08/2025 11:31

Reading more on NYPost, apparently the Texan woman gave offerings to the 'king' - of Iron Bru and shortbread. That just cracks me up. 😂

isthismylifenow · 21/08/2025 11:47

It doesn't say how many are in the tribe 'group' On another report it is suggested it is just the couple, and the American woman.

As an African dweller myself, I do have to wonder if they have thought out living in a forest in Scotland, in winter!

I am also quite sure tribes are not just made up willy nilly. I would hazard a guess that this started out as a bit of a joke. Still might be actually.

ThePhantomoftheEcobubbleOpera · 21/08/2025 11:54

Oh, well this took a dark turn. I suppose it's only a matter of time before there are further children dragged into this delusion then and now they'll be out of sight from the authorities.

You do have to wonder how long they will be able to stick this out. Sounds like they usually have housing and now they'll be getting through winter in tents without walls when it is fekking freezing and it's dark not long after three.

OrangeCrushes · 21/08/2025 12:03

So she's joined a cult

There are much more remote places than the Scottish Borders. Although, if they're trying to reclaim 'stolen land I don't suppose they can choose where it is. I read a comment on the newspaper story about Elizabeth I and black Jacobites so their grasp of history is pretty poor.

The 'tribe' is actually a couple who have had 7 children removed by Durham social services and have now chosen to exclude themselves from mainstream society. No idea how the Texan woman fits into any of this
.https://jeangasho.com/2023/05/12/atehehes-response-to-durham-county-council-for-the-final-hearing-case-number-ne21c50256-at-newcastle-family-court/

From that photo they don't look like they're cut out for living through a Scottish winter in a tent.

Shewasafaireh · 21/08/2025 12:48

I’ve been laughing about this all morning. Tribe? Ancestral home? Scotland? Next up, Iceland.

Obviously the woman is mentally ill and got sucked into this cult behaviour.
