Would be interested to know how someone takes lots of cash out of a business without declaring it. As someone who has been seft employed for a long time and who also prepares company accounts I have no idea how this would be possible.

They took cash in hand and didn’t all of declare it. Accounts were always negative. Dodgy accounting maybe? Also, had an overdrawn directors loan account which was written off. I really don’t know much more but some business owners do cash in hand to avoid tax?

My sister in law claims as single but isn't.

Annoys me less than the friends I have who rent out second properties and don't declare it as taxable income.

If you don’t have a mortgage and don’t use a letting agent, and your council doesn’t have compulsory registration of landlords, there is literally nobody you officially need to tell about a rental property.

The self assessment tax form asks only how many properties, it doesn’t ask for addresses.
I have heard of people openly admitting that they don’t declare rental income. I’m sure it must be rife,
High time there was a crackdown, and I say this as a Ll myself.
