If you plead guilty, as Connolly did, it’s pretty obvious that you go straight to sentence. What do you expect to happen? A jury of 12 people found Jones not guilty. It’s quite obviously not the same.

The video shown online was a small clip from a longer one. The longer video provided context. The jury at the trial will have had sight of the full video.

Apart from that, are you suggesting that we should abolish the jury system because it's returned a result you aren't happy with?

Then you also do not understand how juries are chosen in the UK. It's completely different from the process used in the US.
