And for whatever reason didn't report it to the police?

Someone knows come on out with it

(Question inspired by the thread about lunatic men assaulting women for no reason cos they think nothing will happen to them)

How on earth do you know? I prssume you were there yourself to be that sure

That was astonishing. Both the push and the fact nobody was found.

nomas · 13/08/2025 12:12

I wish a motorist had followed him and called the police en route.

I wish a motorist had followed him and called the police en route.

After the incident he ran back down the other side of the bridge... The victim ran over and asked what the fuck he was doing and he totally ignored her and just kept on running.

All those CCTV cameras and multiple angles of his image in the media and nobody knows anything?

God knows who he has hurt meantime.

It’s always amazed me that this man wasn’t identified. The images of him are fairly clear…if this was your husband/partner/son (or even work colleague!) surely you’d know?

User56785 · 13/08/2025 12:18

I agree with you that someone must know who he is. He can’t know nobody at all.

Tubatuber · 13/08/2025 12:19

I agree it was shocking. I wonder if he was living in the area temporarily; maybe from overseas, that’s why no one recognised him.

Westfacing · 13/08/2025 12:20

I remember some unfortunate American chap was identified/accused on social media - he was able to prove he was elsewhere.

A terrible incident - thank goodness for the alert bus driver!

Yeah he looked really similar. I think he was out of the country at the time or something? The pictures look American. I hope facial recognition will stop just being sinister for no reason and start helping in situations like this.

Now also remembering the recent Knightsbridge stabbing. Wtf, London!

Superhansrantowindsor · 13/08/2025 12:27

The cctv was so clear. I’m sure many people, not necessarily on mumsnet, know who he is.

Keroppi · 13/08/2025 12:32

You'd think he would be back jogging this usual route, so in theory you could watch cctv of other days to see more images of him. Or you could watch and wait to see if he returned by now
I think about this case all the time!! It's disgusting they never identified him. They should try and push it on social media again

All the cctv in London and they couldn't trawl some local streets or known jogging routes around the bridge to see where he entered or exited and follow him

Westfacing · 13/08/2025 12:37

I've just looked at the video footage a few times - I'd forgotten just how extraordinarily deliberate the shove was. The pavement was wide and in no way was the women impeding his progress.

I hope the victim was able somehow to get over this trauma.

OneCoralCat · 13/08/2025 12:41

I can't believe I'd never heard of this, I just watched the video - horrific!!

The lady was very lucky to survive. But am also baffled that he hasn't been identified, surely London has enough CCTV to track his movements after this?!

EaglesSwim · 13/08/2025 12:43

Tubatuber · 13/08/2025 12:19

I'm certain of that.

I also wonder if he was identified and for whatever reason was unable to be extraditited from wherever he lives. Perhaps under those circumstances the fact there is a shrewd idea who he is isn't made public.

So weird that he ran back across the same bridge. Every aspect of it makes no sense.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 13/08/2025 12:48

I find it sickening that this investigation has actually been closed. Apparently they’ve exhausted every avenue. Well no they haven’t as the beast is still out there. I can understand cases being closed after many decades but not 7 years. Look at the bloke that violated and murdered a young woman back in 1967? He’s only recently been convicted.

RimTimTagiDim · 13/08/2025 12:49

I think you vastly overestimate how many people will read your post.

Westfacing · 13/08/2025 12:50

I live a few bridges downstream from Putney Bridge. Many of the bridges have pavements much narrower than Putney and I'm afraid to say that along with some cyclists, many male joggers think the surface is theirs.

They wouldn't think of slowing down or jogging on the spot for a second whilst a way is cleared - no they just keep to their pace and barge through.

It's noticeable that a man passed him a second or two before, but he didn't try and shove him under a bus!

Mumsnet has 8 million users. Not all will click on her post or see the post, but, yes a lot of people will see it if it happens to stay bumped in chat. It also used to skew very London centric though that's changed a bit on recent years.

There’s no way no one knows who he is. If you looked at previous CCTV you probably have him on other days on the same route.

The arrogance and entitlement comes from somewhere. I too think he’s got diplomatic immunity and someone high up has had it brushed under the carpet because as we all know it’s more important to protect a certain nationality’s liberty, no matter what they’ve done, than get justice for their victim.

No one died, so they probably didn’t take much persuading to cover it up.

Eight million visits a month to the entire site, not Chat. The maths just doesn't add up.

MrsMitford3 · 13/08/2025 13:03

I agree-I remember how clear the CCTV was and how shocked I was at the time that no one came forward- how could no one know??? I think now someone would have whipped out a phone and filmed him.

The paths over those bridges are congested and ppl do jostle-walkers, runners, prams, cyclists etc but it was a pretty clear expanse and very deliberate.

I can not believe someone who would do this in broad day light has slipped back into a life of calm virtue... So much anger and rage must boil over again

I'm not suggesting a conspiracy or a cover up.

AdaColeman · 13/08/2025 13:08

I remember at the time being baffled that they were unable to track him down in central London via security cameras. With all the camera footage available to them they must surely I have been able to follow his route.
