To think this is a stonkingly good summer?!

Admittedly I’m in the (lovely)) south east and we are blessed with pretty decent summers generally but so far this summer has been amazing!

9am, and I’m out in the garden, having my coffee and planning trip to beach with my teens for the day. And the sunny warm weather stretches in to the future forecast for days.

Bliss

Yes it’s gorgeous when you live near the beach and don’t work

If this is what climate change looks like, I'm all for it!

Will the next generation, feel the same though😬

It was indeed unpleasantly hot at times. I enjoyed having a break with my family despite the heat, not because of it.

South of France…an odd choice in July if you don’t like hot weather

I don't consider temperatures in the late 20s for a few days extreme heat.

Nor me. Many years ago, I unwisely chose to come back to the UK from a tropical country - it had problems, but the climate wasn't one of them! I've been unwell most of this summer so not making the most of the British sunshine, but I'm still loving it. Outdoors smells so nice now, especially at night and in the early mornings.

Yes, yes, I know it's a harbinger of doom and we'll never be tropical unless we change latitude (which would be even more cataclysmic than planetary warming). I'd still like it to be summer all the time, though.

Stunning summer we're having this year. These guys are loving it.

Meaningless without any information. For all we know they’re taking a siesta

Other people in my family also have a say in where we go on holiday!

Just cry over this photo of Ireland totally ‘ruined’ by rain

Stock photo off bbc website from…. over 5 years ago 😜 @AirheadinCuteShorts

And do you wang on to them as you did on this thread about climate change when they say they love hot weather?

@Someiremember so if it was a photograph taken for instance …an hour ago would it be more ….or less ‘ruined’ by the rain ? Genuinely confused as to the point you are trying to make, like are more recent photographs going to show the cows standing up to their necks in water or mudslides ? Perhaps one of our Irish residents can confirm . Or maybe I can find a webcam

Just funny that the photo you post was on bbc website from half a decade ago
a Getty image… so who knows how long ago

you didn’t have one taken yourself showing it bathed In glorious sun?

@Someiremember you’ve not answered my question

AirheadinCuteShorts · 13/08/2025 20:27

@Someiremember you’ve not answered my question

all I was doing was chuckling at fact that the photo you posted showed a moderately sunny image that was a stock photo taken at least five years ago

and I’d have thought you might have posted a personally taken photo of Ireland bathed in sun

seeing as that was the entire point of your only contribution to the thread

have you been to Ireland?

OP posts:
AirheadinCuteShorts · 13/08/2025 20:48

@Someiremember yes I have

apologies still confused as to the ‘time stamp’ regarding the photograph despite how your detective skills have made you feel so clever, it’s irrelevant because
it’s a lush, verdant pastoral landscape which likely has not changed in quite a few years. My point is Ireland is far from ‘Ruined’ by rain. The rich pasture is what makes Irish butter so yellow.

EchoedSilence · 13/08/2025 20:53

Beautiful sunset here tonight, Am I going to get told off for enjoying the pink sky?

Mh67 · 13/08/2025 21:06

I'm in Glasgow and work as a school crossing patroller. Since January I've only had 1day that I've had to wear waterproof clothing. It's been a good year

Enjoy the sun tomorrow

It’s a scorcher! 🥳

Maybe share a photo of when you were in Ireland experiencing it bathed in sunlight

rather than an old Getty photo plucked off google off a mildly sunny day from many years ago…

but no problem if you don’t have one!

Bet they flew there too

BourgeoisBabe · 13/08/2025 22:34

I'm loving it, but I do worry about climate change.

StevieAnnSENMum · 13/08/2025 22:57

YABU, for liking disgustingly hot weather (only joking! I'm glad you're enjoying it)

However, I hate this weather. Makes me want to rip my skin off.

OneFunnyPearlTurtle · 13/08/2025 23:08

I’m not enjoying it at all but that’s because I was really ill earlier in the year and medication has made me overweight and sun sensitive as well as putting me straight into menopause, but it is nice early morning and late evening sitting in the garden

FortheloveofCheesus · 13/08/2025 23:10

Its a bit hot for me. I struggle to sleep.

ghostyslovesheets · 13/08/2025 23:16

Lovely if you can enjoy it - hot, tiring and a bit shit if you’re working though- as I am

Aldo DD1’s football training has been harsh

West Mids here and we’ve had a bit of rain in the last few weeks but my garden if not blooming and my grass is brown

Indeed the rain is what makes it so green and beautiful.

@Natsku
Glad you saw the point ! which has been spectacularly missed by the hard of thinking 🤯
