to think my colleague should just admit she is on weight loss injections?

At work we have all noticed Sally has lost a lot of weight in the past few months. She is always talking about diets and what she eats and does not eat anymore and makes a big deal about avoiding the biscuit tin in the kitchen. She keeps saying it is just willpower and cutting out snacks.

Last week I walked past her desk, her bag was open, and there was one of those weight loss injection pens in plain sight.

Now I cannot unsee it and every time she goes on about her self control it feels performative.

I am not saying she has to announce it to the whole office, but when she is preaching about anyone can do it if they just try it feels a bit dishonest.

AIBU to think she should either be upfront or just stop making a song and dance about how she has done it all naturally?

OP, does your colleague have a good salary? If not, you might see the weight pile back on soon as there is going to be a HUGE price hike on weight loss injections next month.

@NeuroSpicyCatwhat variety of neurodiversity are you impacted by?

Bollocks.

A family member is on it and it has to be refrigerated.

No one is leaving it hanging around in a bag in the summer heat.

Oh and the pen looks identical to the diabetes one another family member uses

I believe it’s referred to as Vile Twat Syndrome but as far as I’m aware it’s not yet in the DSM-5.

Mounjaro only has to be refrigerated until first use. But l agree - no need to carry it with you, and many of these injection pens look similar. I have one for arthritis and it looks very similar to insulin pens.

The same poster is hopping on every single weight loss injection thread full of glee that people are having to stop. Best to just ignore!

Do share the link to your information about the price increase.

You sound very gleeful about it, are you a manufacturer?

I suspect overweight, doesn’t qualify for weight loss jabs on the NHS, can’t afford to buy them , so can’t stand the thought that others can.

They can be reported as not a genuine poster with a little note added to the report explaining why you’re reporting them. That way the mods will look at the comments they’re making and see a pattern after a few posts even though they’re very good at being vile in a way that they may fly under the guidelines. Should we ignore them? Well we can but I’ll always still report them because there are people here who aren’t robust enough to ignore what they’ve read and it can play on their mind.

What this person deliberately went out of their way to do on another thread a few days ago, just after the news about the increase was announced was very cruel and frankly I think there’s something seriously wrong with them. They’re not going to stop their vile behaviour.

Edited

I did this on a thread a few days ago. One poster was jumping on various comments and constantly tagging a couple of posters with really unpleasant, goady comments, but designed to get under the radar for deletion. One post went too far and crossed into personal attack, and after reporting it with a note to MN to ask them to look at the poster’s history on the thread, most of them were deleted. The mods are usually quite quick with these things.

Yep, I’ve been reporting them when I see them. Unfortunately they’ll just name change and go on their merry way, but ideally it’s best to ignore them, though I admit they’ve wound me up a bit in the past.

Quite!

Sadly there's no treatment for it so I guess they will never be in a position of being unable to afford their medication
