Not on her she looks amazing but for lost of us lesser beings its a very hard look to pull off ?

OP posts:

So how does that work exactly ? Genuinely give me examples of things that make you look the 'best' that are not indicators of youth?

Things I think make me look better:
bothering to blow-dry my hair
wearing some tinted moisturiser (I used to wear full-on foundation but have weaned myself off it)
wearing colours that suit me
wearing styles I like
bothering to iron my clothes if they need it
buying fewer, but better quality clothes mostly made of natural fibres
wearing things that suit my shape (not age-related - I have always been this shape)

I'm 53. When I look in the mirror, I'm hoping to look put-together, non-scruffy and, I admit, a bit slimmer than I think I am. I'm not thinking about age. Honestly. Not everyone bases their desired look on youthlfulnness (or slimness), though many do.

Glitchymn1 · 10/08/2025 15:59

I agree. She’s looked so much more glowy with light make up and longer hair. She’s gorgeous.

She seems like a lovely lady, loves animals.

DiscoBeat · 10/08/2025 16:00

It's such a breath of fresh air, to see someone famous pushing the natural look. Good for her.

Pinkissmart · 10/08/2025 16:04

Chris, the woman has been objectified for 30 years. No matter what she does, everyone only talks about her looks. As per this thread.

MarvellousMonsters · 10/08/2025 16:05

She looks her age. Why is that a problem. I’m so sick of this quest for eternal youth, and as @redgingerbread says, it’s better than dying young.

CunningPlanMaster · 10/08/2025 15:07

HAS NO ONE READ THE OP??

OP is saying Pamela looks amazing! What’s she’s saying is that the look is hard for everyone else to pull off that doesn’t have great bones etc? Us lesser beings with no make up and bobs can’t pull it off

Edited

YEA!! WE ALSO READ THE THREAD TITLE TOO!!!!

Hilarious that half of the commenters haven't read the actual body of my post, but hey ho. I don't think I said anywhere that it's awful to look "old," but I'm not sure that many of you virtue-wagers would intentionally choose hairstyles that make you look older. I could be wrong.

The bob and how it's styled could be very 80s nan if you do not have PA's bone structure, and style is mostly what I was thinking.

Keep digging! You are still making comments relating to age though no matter how you are trying to reframe it. So Pam can age how she likes because she looks good but the rest of us old crones couldn’t get away with it you mean?!

Radiowaawaa · 10/08/2025 16:10

The title of your post doesn’t match your post.

AIBU to think that no make up and that bob on Pamela Anderson is aging

But then you say that she looks amazing but others couldn’t carry off the look.

So yes, yabu to think that no make up and that bob on Pamela Anderson is aging. She’s aged, like we all do.

Plenty of people look equally as lovely.

BeaLola · 10/08/2025 16:12

I am happy in my skin (I'm more plain Jane than supermodel) but it doesn't mean I don't like lipstick, balm or gloss - I like what I like

Katemax82 · 10/08/2025 16:14

I dont wear make up but if I had a bob i would look bloody awful

CatsMagic · 10/08/2025 16:17

JackGrealishsBobbySocks · 10/08/2025 14:45

She looks great. Her age is what makes her look older.:)

Damn straight.

Why are we so afraid of women looking their age ?

JambonetFromage · 10/08/2025 16:18

KimberleyClark · 10/08/2025 15:23

I have very thick hair. I wear it in a soft bob, doesn’t look triangle like a triangle at all.

How how how? I have v thick hair and have never managed a bob without it looking triangular! Anythi g between a crop and shoulder length is a nighmare.

Glitchymn1 · 10/08/2025 16:19

A Bob will probably only suit certain face shapes? If you have a long face, big nose - not great I’d imagine.
No doubt she’s also back in the public eye, has a movie to promote and her new look is causing a stir, don’t underestimate that move!

DelphiniumDoreen · 10/08/2025 16:19

She’s no less self obsessed than she was. Before it was tits and tan. Now it’s bare faced and wide eyed.

Look at Amanda Holden. She has a stunning figure but what a bloody self obsessed arse she is. I guess it goes with the territory.

It’s a good job I don’t work in TV!

Vintagenow · 10/08/2025 16:19

Agreed. Pamela is gorgeous with lovely skin. The rest of us mere mortals with our less than perfect complexions need a little help! Although my 58 year old friend never wears make up and has the skin of a 20 year old, it's like she's reverse ageing. She does have very long, not bobbed hair and got rid of a huge weight recently in the form of an arsehole bloke, so that might have something to do with her glow.
My teenager begged me never to get a bob, also have very long hair in my 50's, which my mother hates, so it shall be staying long 😂
The only downside to long thick hair is it's bloody hot in your 50's. I've felt like shaving it off on many a hot night!

Fleur405 · 10/08/2025 16:21

I think the thing that is ageing is… time. Pamela Anderson is almost 60 and has now decided that she does not give a fuck what people think about the way she looks. And good for her!

WonderingWanda · 10/08/2025 16:21

JackGrealishsBobbySocks · 10/08/2025 14:45

This!

Her hair cut and lack of make up isn't making her look older it just that celebrities (and let's face it many of us too but we don't have the same budget so have more limited success) are usually obsessed with looking unnaturally young for their ages by using any artificial means they can come by. She looks normal.

DappledThings · 10/08/2025 16:23

Nope, some people want to use various items to help them achieve a particular look. They only need it if that particular look is important to them. I have a far from perfect complexion. Doesn't mean I need anything on it because I'm happy with it and I don't think that makes me any different from Pam particularly!

TheodoraCrumpet · 10/08/2025 16:27

She's a beautiful woman, and clinging on to the blonde bombshell look in her late fifties would probably attract as much criticism as the natural look she's chosen.

I get lots of compliments for my thick bobbed hair. It suits my face and it's in great condition. I don't know if it makes me look like an 80s nan. I'm old enough to be a nan, so not bothered either way.

ThatSchoolOfficeLady · 10/08/2025 16:29

She looks great and she's doing a real service to women in general with her natural look. She comes across as thoughtful and authentic in interviews.

slightlydistrac · 10/08/2025 16:36

NuffSaidSam · 10/08/2025 14:46

What's wrong with something being 'aging'?

I agree with you - nothing wrong with it at all, however I'd much prefer 'ageing'.
🙂

Alexandrine · 10/08/2025 16:38

I think she looks amazing, especially the old Hollywood style bob and dewy/fresh skin and little makeup. Possibly the only thing I’d change is to have slightly fuller brows - I understand her thing is now a “no makeup” look so that’s consistent with her brows too, but I do think there is a happy medium between the currently fashionable strong/heavy ones and the hardly there. Having said that, she’s always had thin brows, but I just think it can look a bit aging as we get older.

labradormam · 10/08/2025 16:41

I agree anybody else of that age with no make up, no eyebrows and that bob would look horrendous.

Pamela doesn’t look horrendous. She is naturally pretty enough to look ok like that.

But she could look loads better. She doesn’t need make up, just doing something to improve her overplucked eyebrows, and a better hairstyle and she would look amazing.

I’m not very stylish though. I quite often see women with ostensibly “bad” haircuts and think how ugly they would look on me / the average woman. I feel it’s a kind of a “look how beautiful I am that I can even make this look good”.

Yeah, it's not a flattering haircut. You deffo need great bone structure, which she has. But it's a bit too extreme. But now I think about it, maybe she'd look great with a really nice gamine crop.

Go even shorter? As she has such a beautiful face. I just wish she'd widen her brows a bit.

Thank you. Someone talking sense at last! I am sick to death of all the shite peddled about what makes women look older. It's not whether you dye your hair or not, whether you have it short or long or what you wear, it's your age! We should embrace ageing.

No one's criticised Liam Neeson for dyeing his hair - I means he's in his 70s and it's fooling no one.
