You are correct. They do not care. Talk to the hand lady.

findtheriver · 28/05/2008 17:57

They are total wankers

taipo · 28/05/2008 17:57

cestlavie · 28/05/2008 18:01

They are scum. Never ever fly with them.

windyweather · 28/05/2008 18:02

oh yeah and easyjet, last year my mums flight was cancelled from spain due to bad weather, they offered another flight 4 days later (she couldnt take due to medicine she needs) she forked out £450 to get back home and no refund!!!!!!!

findtheriver · 28/05/2008 18:02

And can we slag off easyjet while we're on the subject?? Total arseholes too.

findtheriver · 28/05/2008 18:03

same here windy!! They cancel at the drop of a hat and give you fuck all help to get home.

bossybritches · 29/05/2008 10:19

They are in business to make money, when it works we get cheap flights & we rub our hands. When it doesn't we shouldn't be surprised really if they have no service ethos!!

I pity the poor staff who work for them- they must be worked like slaves.

lulumama · 29/05/2008 10:22

if he was late, that is not their fault though... sorry to be the voice of dissent...

if they bent the rules for him, they would have to do so for everyone, and their would be havoc

there has to be a cut off point

we have stopped flying easyjet as you get what you pay for.

findtheriver · 29/05/2008 10:28

I agree about their poor staff bossy.
Don't totally agree about the 'no service' ethos. Fair enough to say you get what you pay for, which is why we put up with no prebooked seats, dirty planes which they never seem to clean because their turn-around time is so tight.... but the rate at which they cancel flights is NOT on. I don't mind paying less and getting a crappy service, I DO mind not getting the service I've paid for. Easyjet cancel flights 'for weather reasons' when every other airline around them is still flying. It's a disgrace.

BouncingTurtle · 29/05/2008 10:28

I don't think they are that cheap, once you add on all the fuel charges, taxes, hold baggage fees, seat fees, oxygen fees

cmotdibbler · 29/05/2008 10:31

He was late. Not their fault, and with their very tight turn around times they have to have everyone on board, on time else it all falls apart. Also, they have calculated the weights on board and started all the flight calculations from that by that point.

Also, their contract with you is to take you from A-B - no dates or times involved I'm afraid.

If you want rule bending and good service, you pay more and go with a full service airline.

VinegarTits · 29/05/2008 10:38

Agree with cmotdibbler, he was the one that was late.

tegan · 29/05/2008 10:42

oh no we are due to fly with ryanair next friday with a 10yr old a 4 yr old and me at (will be) 15 weeks pg.

megcleary · 29/05/2008 10:45

as an irish girl living in uk i have to say ryanair has made it much more financially managable to see my family that when i had to pay crazy aer lingus prices i got from stansted to shannon for my grandmothers funeral at 24 hours notice cheaper than a relative who had to get the bus from cork to galway

all ryanair are is a bus with wings

bozza · 29/05/2008 10:47

tegan don't worry - we went Ryanair to Dublin a few weeks ago with no problems at all. Was a slightly bizarre experience (never been with them before) but fine.

theBOD · 29/05/2008 10:49

so your husband was late and you want to blame ryanair?
i love them, cheap affordable flights to most countries in europe.
of course they are money grabbing they are a business and make no apologies for this.they have however made the market competitive.
tell your husband to be on time next time.

tegan · 29/05/2008 11:09

Bozza why bizarre??

We have our flight booking slips but they don't do tickets which i found odd.

whoops · 29/05/2008 11:14

Your DH was late and they were right to refuse him if he knew he was going on the M25 he should have left a lot more time to get round it.
I have flown many times with Ryanair and never had a problem - I don't understand why people have a problem with them they do good offers on flights - my friend flew down on Tuesday from Scotland to Bournemouth and the total cost of the flight was £4.04p (the £4 was the charge for paying by debit card

tootiredtothink · 29/05/2008 11:32

Did you have any luggage whoops?

I have just booked dh and dcs (and NOT MEEEEEE - for a WHOLE WEEK!!!!!!!)(sorry, tad excited!!) birmingham to shannon for £30incl taxes return! Bargain - I thought! Then on top of that it's £24 per case (needed to take 2 due to car seats) and on top of that £8 to book my ds in as he not got luggage and not eligible for on line book in! !!!

I have no problem with the way they run as it's the only way i can get to see family a few times a year, but it's not the cheap option it used to be .

And sorry op - you do have to be there on time.

tootiredtothink · 29/05/2008 11:34

and of course the debit card fee on top of that!!! Have you seen the charge for paying by credit card? Over £20

whoops · 29/05/2008 12:02

No tootired she just had hand luggage and did the online check in thing which is how it was so cheap!
They had an offer last week of completely free flight with not taxes etc

tootiredtothink · 29/05/2008 12:03

Ah well - i don't care really as worth every penny - did i mention i am not going and will be left here ALL ALONE?

whoops · 29/05/2008 12:05
