Many years ago Marks & Spencer sold a cheese and apple sandwich. It was grated cheese mixed with some kind of mayonnaise and with chunks of apple. It was amazing. Then it stopped and it never returned.

Would I be unreasonable to email their head office to ask for them to reintroduce it?

Biotex. It was a pre-soak powder and could get any stain out of anything before Vanish came on the scene.

Yes!! Lovely stuff.

Tesco French style mayo. It was delicious and I haven't yet found one as nice.
Comfort naturals aloe Vera fabric conditioner

@itsnotagameshow Woo! What are the odds of us both posting about the exact same item from 20+ years ago at the exact same time???

That's crazy! I love it!

Slimlamp · 04/08/2025 07:51

Greggs used yo do a chicken and mango mayonnaise sandwich that was delicious. Came on really nice bread too. Must’ve stopped it about 15 years ago but I would love it if they brought it back.

M&S used to make ready salted square crisps that were so moreish I could eat more than one giant bag in a day. Clearly I would have died if a heart attack by now if they hadn’t stopped making them, but they were lovely.

Idahoan potato slices.

I only ever had them the once but have never seen them on sale anywhere again.

Just realised Tesco are now stocking maille dijon mayo, so I'll get that. They weren't before

Milky Lunch bars, used to eat lots of them
Drifter bars
Jelly Mallow bars

Barney16 · 04/08/2025 07:55

Mint cracknel. It was chocolate with a green minty inside.

anyolddinosaur · 04/08/2025 07:56

A specific Playtex Cross your heart bra, cant remember the number. Was not the prettiest bra around but excellent support without wires. They do other bras but they dont provide the same support. Bought a lot extra when I realised they were being discontinued but they didnt last forever.

Sketchers - they keep changing their go walk shoes and it's not an improvement.

Also miss toast toppers.

Dartmoorcheffy · 04/08/2025 00:18

Haha. Seriously there is a really high demand for toast toppers to cone back. I really don't understand why heinz haven't done it.

I wonder if it's because most of us use toasters these days, rather than grilling our bread? (remember having to hover to turn it over before one side burnt?!)

Maybe they think we are stoopid and will put it in the toaster with the topper on!

We still have grills and could easily do toast toppers.

Hephzibah64 · 04/08/2025 07:58

Bitz bars made by Terrys. A mix of plain and milk chocolate with crunchy mint pieces. They did an orange one too. I ate one every day when I was pregnant!

LOVED that. I got some in Cape Town, it was the highlight of my holiday.

Lidl raspberry and white chocolate muffin

Do they actually still make them? Maybe off to SA...

Sasssquatch · 04/08/2025 08:01

Waitrose have really dropped their dip game. They used to do a basil and pecorino one which was delicious.

now there are approx 76 different types of humus and nothing beyond tzatziki, cheese and chive or sour cream dip. All the humus is always reduced so I don’t understand its over representation in the dip section

Spaghetti and sausages by Heinz they now do it with Richmond sausages and my kids hate it.. bring back the cheap version was such an easy tea for me.. also Sainsbury’s did a tiramisu brownie was amazing they’ve removed the bakery in my store and I can’t get it now!!

Heinz beans and sausages for me! Can’t stand Richmond sausages so can’t even bring myself to try the new version! I was saving my last tin for a treat when they’d done the change over and were no more original recipe tins anywhere. Was so looking forward to my beans and sausage on toast one day to realise that my daughter’s boyfriend had used them already on a jacket potato. I could have cried!

TroysMammy · 04/08/2025 08:06

M&S (again) they sold small jars of sauce to stir through grains like quinoa. The mango and lime one was delicious. I now have no inclination to eat plain quinoa.

Mingles, the box of mixed mint chocolates.
I mourn them every Christmas as I settle for After Rights.

Do Henry not do upright version?

No. They do a hand-held "stick" type of upright cleaner, but it's not what you'd call a full-size cleaner and it's not mains powered.

notacooldad · 04/08/2025 08:09

A recent one that was discontinued, certainly from my Tesco was 'Wicked Kitchen ' burrito. It was either veggie or vegan but it was really good.
I was so disappointed when i went out of my way to go to 'The big Tesco' on my way to work one weekend and it had gone

I could do with some Tyrozets, antibiotic ( tiny amount) throat lozenges.
Very handy for sore throats for years !

These were brilliant and I was talking about them yesterday. I did have a small stash but they are now all gone.

PathOfLeastResitance · 04/08/2025 08:10

M&S did potato and butter crisps. They tried to replicate a few years ago but the texture was not the same (worse).

Firstshoes · 04/08/2025 08:11

Butter Ready Brek. Delicious

ThatGladTiger · 04/08/2025 08:12

Sara Lee double chocolate gateaux!

and to the person that said cartoonies….. I had forgotten all about these! They were great!

TroysMammy · 04/08/2025 08:13

Recently Lidl microwavable rice mango chutney flavour. Gone for ever. Hope I don't like their new onion bhaji flavour one as I know that will go the same way.
