Many years ago Marks & Spencer sold a cheese and apple sandwich. It was grated cheese mixed with some kind of mayonnaise and with chunks of apple. It was amazing. Then it stopped and it never returned.

Would I be unreasonable to email their head office to ask for them to reintroduce it?

Biotex. It was a pre-soak powder and could get any stain out of anything before Vanish came on the scene.

This!
I occasionally bring a pack home from the continent!

Sooo fed up with my local supermarket stocking 100 versions of basically the same oxi type stain remover!

Firstholiday · 04/08/2025 08:14

cachous, those floral sweets sold in chemists!

Whoever mentioned cheese moments and mignons morceaux - you are so right, would kill for mignons morceaux

M&S did a cheese and celery sandwich, that was so tasty.

I had that every day at work in 1989!!!

Footle · 04/08/2025 08:19

AllBran. The new recipe has produced something that looks and tastes like plastic , or some sort of brittle ceramic. It doesn’t work very well either.

Crikey - that's taken me right back. I used to love that!

Dove Original body wash and bath foam...i.e the stuff that smells like the Dove Original soap bars. I bloody loved the original fragrance! None of the newer Dove stuff smells anything like the original stuff. I remember getting a set one Christmas and it was lovely. I keep searching for it, but no joy.

The old ranges that the Body Shop used to have in the 90's.

I'm sure I'll think of other stuff!!

DriveMeCrazy1974 · 04/08/2025 08:33

Ferrero (the company behind the Ferrero Rocher) used to have a chocolate called the Ferrero Fresco Mint - it had a liquid centre and was really nice - they discontinued that years ago - I may have nostalgic memories of it because it was something my husband and I used to buy as a treat when we'd only recently started going out together- this was back in the early/mid nineties.
I once actually emailed Ferrero to ask (insist!) they brought it back but, alas, they fobbed me off by saying they didn't have the ways to manufacturer it anymore!

OMG, over the years I had begun to think I dreamt this sandwich. I used to LOVE it. I can still taste it when I think about it. I used to buy it for lunch from M&S in Leeds on a lunchtime walk into town.

it was kind of a tangy cheese and granny smith apple.

Thank you for restoring my sandwich sanity. I would love it to be reintroduced, along with their stroganoff paste in a jar.

Years ago M&S did a sausage roll in a sort of tomato-flavoured pastry, it was lovely. Also, bring back their beef and onion sub rolls!

Matronic6 · 04/08/2025 08:33

Secret chocolate bar. Used to love as a kid but they just vanished one day.

Oh wow - Mignons Morceaux were our go to snack in the late 90s - especially when we had people over for drinks!
Blimey - this thread is taking me right back!

DriveMeCrazy1974 · 04/08/2025 08:36

I still yearn for Toffos - more specifically the mixed tube of Toffos. Also, Treets and Topic - anybody who comes on here saying M&M's are the same will not be listened to because they blatantly are not!
I also miss Heinz Toast Toppers - they were brilliant!

Burger King mushroom double Swiss. It was truly divine.

Oh I remember that !
It was delicious.

SALaw · 04/08/2025 08:38

Nut Cluster cereal, Magic Ice sauce and Tesco Apple & Cinnamon pies at Christmas.

DriveMeCrazy1974 · 04/08/2025 08:39

Not 'that' far back, but I remember Sainsbury's selling Scrumpy Jack cheese on their deli counter - I haven't been able to buy that for years, but it was lovely. In reality, it was probably just cheese with apple bits in it, but it was a real treat.

notawittyname1954 · 04/08/2025 08:41

Sainsbury's and Tesco used to do a breaded plaice fillet stuffed with prawns in wine sauce.

AHS1996 · 04/08/2025 00:05

They still do it in some stores, I see it quite regularly in my local one 😊

Where is this?! I always look for these and they never have them, it was my favourite sandwich.

Bit wary of disclosing that online in case the AI uses it to impersonate me though…

deeahgwitch · 04/08/2025 08:48

Can anyone remember the name of an antibiotic powder - my mum always used it if we got a wound or a bad cut. It came in a tiny plastic bottle iirc.
It was magic stuff, wounds and cuts would heal so quickly.
It was discontinued, sadly.
I think because of the fear of widespread antibiotic resistance.

ScrambledEggs12 · 04/08/2025 08:49

Batchelors Mushroom and Wine flavoured pasta.

Cadbury Cream Liquor.

Cadbury Nobble bars.

KimberleyClark · 04/08/2025 08:50

Birds Eye potato waffles, cheese flavour. Perfect with a cooked breakfast. The plain ones are not the same.

Nellieinthebarn · 04/08/2025 08:55

I'm going back a long long way, and the whole company has gone now, but you used to be able to get a Vidal Sassoon cleansing bar that was so lovely. It was almond scented and left my skin really soft, and never dry and tight.

MistressThere · 04/08/2025 08:55

Sara Lee used to have a frozen pecan pie, it was amazing and we could get it in our local Asda. I think they still have it in the US but not here sadly 😢
