Many years ago Marks & Spencer sold a cheese and apple sandwich. It was grated cheese mixed with some kind of mayonnaise and with chunks of apple. It was amazing. Then it stopped and it never returned.

Would I be unreasonable to email their head office to ask for them to reintroduce it?

Anyone remember Cabana bars from the 1980’s? I bloomin loved them. Coconut, nougat (I think?) and cherry pieces, wrapped in chocolate.

Yes! Loved these. A cherry ripe from b&m is a poor imitation but better than nothing.

Lidl raspberry and white chocolate muffin

A cafe in Akaroa, NZ, made marvellous raspberry and white chocolate muffins, we had them warm out of the oven, pity it's too far to go!

Boursin Black Pepper cheese, why did they stop that?

Zempy · 04/08/2025 10:23

I haven’t RTFT so apologies if this is a duplicate post.

Cherry and Almond shampoo Vidal Sassoon. Nothing else comes close.

Nestle Clusters cereal. I'm not a cereal breakfast person at all but i used to love these and i forgot about them for years and when i went to look for them again discovered there were nowhere to be seen apparently discontinued in 2012 although I'm sure i ate them after then but i must have been mistaken.
I'm gutted that i'll never remember that my last bowl of them was my last 😄

McVities Jasper's biscuits.

Mydahliasareshit · 04/08/2025 10:42

M&S used to do chicken breasts marinated in orange and garlic. So delicious but very smelly!

Original recipe Mini Kievs from the 1980s. So nice then.

Cheddar with chives in. Another yes for Mignon Morceaux and Birds Eye cod balls.

OrchardDoor · 04/08/2025 10:43

Fruit club bars and coconut boost

OrchardDoor · 04/08/2025 10:45

McVities Jasper's biscuits.

I'd forgotten about those. They were lovely

Gone down a rabbit hole now, a friend of mine used to love the crusha milkshake syrups and she used to love a limited edition ice cream flavour one but we could never find evidence of its existence, i just googled again and found a pic, i'm satisfied now i know we didn't imagine it!
Also an old chocolate bar, will have to update when i can remember its name.

Spiras! The best chocolate bar ever made, and nothing has matched it since. I know I’m not the only one who thinks this 😊.

Yes yes yes!! People think I'm mad when I talk about the Spira. Hands down the best chocolate bar ever. I can still taste it in my mind 🙂

Ooohlalalalas · 04/08/2025 10:56

Wasitline salad cream -nothing else comes close.

itsnotagameshow · 04/08/2025 10:56

Whoever mentioned tooth tincture has got me thinking about original Benylin which really knocked you out when you were suffering with cold and cough - the new stuff doesn't touch the sides!

newrubylane · 04/08/2025 10:58

There was a great chicken and bacon pizza in Tesco. It only had a white sauce, no tomato. It was yum. DH and I were gutted when it disappeared and we've never found a firm favourite pizza alternative since.

Tesco used to do a cinnamon loaf thing. It was a brioche loaf, around 2003-2006. I remember having it as a treat when we lived in our first house and I was like 4-7, I still remember when I stopped getting it in my lunch box. My mum normally shopped at Morrisons, but my dad would go and get it on the way home from work. I also remember once I woke up and ate the whole load on my own and my dad found me laying on the kitchen floor covered in crumbs and thought I was dead.

Hilarious!

Joosters jelly beans

Tesco llama bites (crisps)

Yellow matenium cream

Edited

I saw Joosters jelly beans in a shop called Mr. Price last week. I think the company is only in Ireland, though.

SophiaSW1 · 04/08/2025 11:03

Cadbury Fuse

MrsWojadubakowski · 04/08/2025 11:04

Thornton’s strawberry fondant pig. I had the worst pregnancy craving for it and it was sadly already gone.

The Ordinary makeup, particularly the foundation. Nothing else comes close.

Mmmcheese89 · 04/08/2025 11:07

Boddingtons and pickle cheese.

I would also have said milky way crispy rolls, but they're currently back for a limited time. Woooo!

Treesarenotforeating · 04/08/2025 11:13

@PrincessHoneysuckle Yes 👍 or just ready salted anything , I’m fed up with all the different flavours especially cheese and onion that leave a horrible aftertaste for ages 🤢

PInkyStarfish · 04/08/2025 11:15

Dior Creme de rose lip balm. I had one in every coat and jacket pocket, in handbags and they were the perfect little extra gift at Christmas for my female relatives.

Now gone forever.

Back in the day, Cadbury Time Outs used to be different. They used to have a thick layer of Flake-like chocolate in the middle, with a thin layer of wafer either side.
Not they've got rid of that flake layer, put more wafer in, and a scraping of chocolate dust, and they're just nowhere near as tasty. Whereas they used to be light and chocolatey, now they're just dry and claggy.

I loved that pizza too. IIRC it had some sort of mild garlicky marinade on the chicken too. Was so good.
