The constant complaining about how hard it is, how much work it is, how expensive they are etc etc etc

OP posts:

I had them because I was sick of complaining about the weather, gave me something new to whinge about.

MyUmberSeal · 02/08/2025 21:58

Because they are annoying shitheads, well mine are 🤣.

Littletreefrog · 02/08/2025 21:59

Same as everything else.
I wanted a job but I complain about it.
I wanted a dog but I complain about it.
I wanted a husband but I complain about him.
I wanted kids but I complain about them.
I wanted a house but I complain about it.
And so on....

They annoy us, then they grow up

PersephonePomegranate · 02/08/2025 22:01

I don't know any one who does this! Sure we all have ups and downs and difficult phases, the same as any other relationship, but I dont know anyone that complains like that.

Minecroft · 02/08/2025 22:06

Do you have any op?

YetanotherNC25 · 02/08/2025 22:21

My kids are brilliant, except when they’re not.
Surely everyone complains about something. If you don’t want to read the posts, scroll on by.

MinevaZabi · 02/08/2025 22:25

It's part of the privilege of having them. You're on Mumsnet where people come to vent. Bringing up kids is a nightmare and a blessing I know from experience having raised an autistic child who was anything but easy and sometimes it was too much but I love them all the same

CrispieCake · 02/08/2025 22:27

The fashion in a lot of countries now (Japan, South Korea, increasingly the UK etc) is to not have kids and still complain about them.

And that's going so well for everyone.

BallerinaRadio · 02/08/2025 22:27

Of all the obviously goady posts I've ever read this could quite possibly be the obviousest goadiest post in the history of goady posts.

Congratulations

RedLightGreenLiiight · 02/08/2025 22:28

British moaners for you. Then they go abroad for a couple of weeks a year to let loose and end up behaving so poorly that they're the laughing stock of Europe.

I was thinking that I hear a lot more people without children moaning about them than people with them do.

We all love a whinge about something I suppose, about anything and everything.

dudsville · 02/08/2025 22:29

I don't have kids, but most people I know have children. I can see how hard it is, and how wonderful it can be, even though it's not my life. Being able to see a glimpse of what is like to live a different way is a valuable attribute, as is being able to hold the notion of complexity, that most things aren't just good or bad.

cofffeeee · 02/08/2025 22:29

I dont like kids around me i dont hate i just dont like them.
Annoying buggers and when they eat near me i have to move sloping slushing food falling out coughing over the food etc dirty bastards i cant stomach it.
And loud AND MUMMY CAN I TELL YOU SOMETHING.

steff13 · 02/08/2025 22:30

I mean, to be fair, you don't know how annoying they are until you actually have them. 🤷‍♀️

StrawberryJangle · 02/08/2025 22:31

I just wanted to ruin my body and blame them.
