I couldn’t sleep last night, worrying about a Reform government

1000 replies

Cluborange666 · 01/08/2025 09:15

I am really worried. I think they’ll wreck the economy. I’ve got a few years left to pay off my mortgage from my job that deals with immigrants. I don’t want our pensions to tank. I don’t want my sons’ lives to be messed around. I worry about more racism, the more ‘voice’ that Reform get. I live in a very multicultural city and non-white people tell me that they are experiencing more overt racism. It makes me feel very insecure about the future.

wish Labour would do more to show that they are on the side of ordinary people as I think that’s what is driving this (I’m a Labour voter). I don’t think the creation of Your Party will help, just give Reform more advantages.

Sigh. Happy to be told I’m unreasonable as I think the future looks bleak.

I didn't call all Labour supporters rabid though did I? Goldenbear has attributed certain characteristics to all Reform voters
I didn't say that just by being a Labour supporter = rabid

I am starting to feel uncomfortable with your stalking of me.

No idea who Bob is or if whatever convoluted graphic you’re sharing is even funny (probably not), but to be witty, you have to land the joke with timing. Otherwise the joke’s on you, like now.

Mnhq are doing us a favour with this delay after all. The thread can move past the gifs before they appear.

I know gifs are frowned upon but

Haha, the poster will probably consider this delay a part of the pile on they are apparently being subjected to.

Like when bad losers accuse everyone else of playing unfair when they lose.

Ah, but for anyone reading through the thread the timing will be spot on as King Robert has finally shown up. 👏

Apparently it’s hilarious. How lucky we are.

Do you measure your wit by the same standards as your fiscal and political expertise?

Stalking? Repeating your own words on this thread isn't stalking but I understand you said something which you now realise wasn't a very wise thing to say but you can't own it and apologise.

Maybe next time don't say fucking stupid shit!

You are obsessed after all. I’d be flattered, but unfortunately being followed by someone who lacks basic knowledge of the topic they are posting about is more creepy than flattering.

Don't be flattered, you have mentioned over and over how important you are on this thread, sorry to disabuse you of the idea of you being that memorable but you simply aren't mate! Didn't know anything about you until this thread.

I’m rolling on the floor here.

That someone so obsessed by me is able to make me laugh so much. And it ain’t the gif that’s funny.

I mean I don't really hang around with people that declare they have a strong allegiance to any political party but they would never, ever vote Reform, it's just not what we are about.

Do you always ask people who they vote for? I know lots of people, some are good friends others are acquaintances. I get on with all of them and enjoy their company. The majority of them I wouldn't have a clue which party they vote for. I know 3 who voted Reform in the last local election. Has it changed my opinion of them, of course it hasn't, there's so much more to people than the party they vote for. I have never voted Labour but I'm sure that some of the people I'm friends with have.

Are you only friends with people who vote for the same party you do?

ThatbloodyRoblox · 02/08/2025 16:34

To the original poster. I understand your concern. I don’t want a Reform government either. However we have 3 years before the next election. Look on the bright side.
Reform seem to be losing their MPs quite regularly and the one they gained has upset a load of her constituents by allegedly spreading falsehoods about an area of her constituency. Plus not all councillors/ officers or staff with the new regimes or so I hear. Their meetings are a bit rubbish and unprofessional ( imo)
They are also very welcoming of ex Tory members, so when they say same old UNI party about Labour/Conservatives and words to that effect you are asked to ignore Anderson, Jenkyns, Poochin, Tice etc past and pretend they are new kids on the block.

But it's not just on this thread. You are naming the poster and ridiculing their posts on another thread too. Do you think that's okay?

Yes stalking, referencing me on other threads and actually making assertions that are wrong.

I don't realise any such thing. Look into who you are committed to voting for, it is your civic duty. To be fair you have a bit of time before the next election to research this.

I'm actually talking about friends and when we have gatherings, parties etc. politics and the economy is casually spoken about, I've known these people for 20 years, I really don't think from the things they are saying, that they have any sympathy for Reform's position.

Ah you might be surprised how people vote in the privacy of the voting booth or on a postal vote. Often if someone is particularly vocal or judgemental about other people's politics or about their own, their friends might pretend they agree and say yes of course Golden...we would never vote Reform! That's just not what we are all about!! ". And no one will ever know...

Awww don’t be embarrassed. No need for faux confusion. Being obsessed by another poster is no bad thing, especially if you can learn something. Keep following, there’s hope for you yet.

A fair few will though. But will feel it's not socially acceptable at your sort of gatherings to mention it. But will then vote for them.

I mean that isn't how we talk to each other. I don't ask, "are you voting for Reform?" The last time we had a party, one male friend said Reform are normalising prejudice and no one disagreed, they could be insincere of course but I live in a pretty liberal minded area so I doubt it.
