Immigration population up another 700k

1000 replies

Atallglassimdof · 30/07/2025 23:35

I understand that this country needs immigration but if you import 100,000s of low skilled workers, in their 30s and 40s, how are they going to fund their retirement or pay for their housing?

It just seems counterintuitive to bring loads of people into this country who will need considerable financial support ( housing benefits, pension credits) when they are no longer able to work, and don’t have the means to support themselves.

Do they mean no borders? It’s all being sold in now.

We are just getting teenage bedroom life presented as an economic necessity.

AprilAndFliss · 04/08/2025 12:31

It's got to the point where its so ridiculous and tactless and potentially dangerous where I can't allow myself to think about it because it's making me anxious and depressed about the future. Probably not a good coping strategy but what the hell can we do? The government clearly doesn't care they have their plans and democracy is a lie to keep us calm so they can go full steam ahead

Me too. Feel absolutely powerless to do anything and this is what the government relies on of course.

Actually the point was about culture, not economy. But you seem to be good at conflating things and creating a completely irrelevant new tangent. Foolish

They mostly seem to be going for squashing stuff on social media. If that’s it then it won’t work.

You are presenting arguments about culture being a major benefit that we should consider to be worth the economic drain. Its your tangent. Your justification.

Yes, In response to an earlier point made by someone else on this thread about culture. Read more carefully.

You getting worked up isn't going to change anything. Just get on with your life day to day and try to find other things to think about. Stay away from the likes of the Daily Mail whose sole purpose seems to be creating outrage and fear with their daily hyperbole, mix with normal, balanced people. You'll be fine.

I've seen the development of your arguments.

Do you think the way of talking to people you use wins people round to your position?

You post ai generated walls of text and preen about about it as if it's won you a prize somehow and sign off each message with a insulting sneer.

You actually do sound like much of the left.

The new Corbyn Sultana party is all of you teenage mentality junk food fans that need to import poor people to cycle it to your door for you and the extreme social conservatives you are importing who are using you as useful idiots with your culture blabbering.

The irony of accusing others of posting “walls of text” while you unload this unhinged rant isn’t lost on anyone. You’ve gone from debating ideas to hurling cheap insults, conspiracy theories, and bizarre culture war clichés — all while pretending to be the voice of reason.

I’m not here to win over every angry stranger on the internet. I don’t need to. The public mood is already shifting. Corbyns party membership has overtaken Reform, and the tired anti-refugee, culture panic brigade is still — thankfully — a loud but shrinking minority.

You call it “blabbering.” I call it facts, lived experience, and reality. And judging by how rattled you sound, it’s clearly hitting a nerve.

EviesHat · 04/08/2025 13:15

I’ve always found the ‘we need immigrants to keep our low-paying jobs filled’ argument to be highly distasteful.

The comfortably middle class seems to view importing serfs as a morally good thing now.

Signing up to Corbyn's free mailing list is not the same as paying money to become a party member. Getting islamists and the Glastonbury crowd to click a button for free is not indicative of a shift in public sentiment

Reform started in a much similar way (albeit supported by neo nazis, turning point, Britain first, bnp, national front and other violent organisations)

No I haven't, its a fair point- I'm not here to relentlessly try to shut down points that make sense at any cost with hysterical gammonry unlike some people here.

I've answered with another follow on point. Which you haven't refuted either

I dont care 💁‍♀️

Extravirginolive · 04/08/2025 13:42

So will you be expecting mosques to be chanting trans women are women and non-binary identities are valid then?

They can add it to the call to prayer tannoy can't they?

That made me laugh. Is that an attempt at an insult.

I think it’s good Corbyn is setting up a party, I hope it goes well.

You’re a terrible observer then.

Good luck with the new party, it sounds good. You should get 10 to 15% of the electorate:

Not to mention their well known tolerance towards homosexuality, animal welfare, child marriage etc etc.
