New posters welcome. It would be helpful to read at least the four Observer items above before posting. There are currently 10 items on The Observer website The real Salt Path | The Observer

To all - Please be extremely cautious when it comes to naming or implicating people and addresses not in the public eye or with no direct connection to the story, and around the understandable health speculations, especially where details are unclear or still emerging. Please do not engage with visitors who seem to have their own agenda and seek to derail. Avoid @'ing and quoting them as - from experience - this will only encourage them back to the threads. We have done amazingly well together for ten very interesting, very serious and very silly threads so far. I can't be here as much as I'd like so all help with keeping our discussion walking along in a healthy and civil fashion is very welcome.

No saltiness. Keep to the path.

Oh really. Have you ever met him? I have to confess I've had a not very secret crush on Richard for years now 😳. So the sooner the MN Salt Pathers and SA get walking that SWCP the better!

My thoughts are with you my child. For your own good I think it best that we lock you in the charabanc for that stretch.

I think Sally Walker might discover you can't delete these things even when you do!

Edited

Judging by the state of the Gangani website and the fact that SW had to upload the neurologists' letters onto her website by taking a photo of the letters with her mobile phone, I get the sense that the Walkers aren't terribly tech savvy!

There is indeed (well, “on” the shed)

Ta. Stand corrected. Apple tree it is!

Could that be a notebook lying on the ground in front of the rucksack?

I can't make out what that is, but wasn't there something about the original tent poles being orange and getting replaced later on by different colored ones? Or was it the other way round?

AlertCat · 31/07/2025 13:35

User14March · 31/07/2025 13:23

Yes, I just said similar. One of the boxes did look like that especially. Does that suggest a retrospective shot? Someone also suggested she had the same dress on as when she started out on walk or much earlier?

I think in the book she only has one dress and two pairs of leggings, one of which she cuts into shorts. So that bit would make sense. And there are apples on that tree, it’s not an oak. Unless my eyes deceive me!!

The boxes beside the rucksack are weird. As you say, they don’t look like kit that belongs to the hikers, but equally if you were staging retrospective shots, wouldn’t you do a better job of making it look legit?

Years ago I encountered Richard Madeley walking shirtless between Talland and Polperro!

Richard claimed to have reported someone to Devon & Cornwall Police for indecent exposure near to his holiday home - so that was you, @Priorlake ?!

Again, this is so odd. Why don’t they have someone- a secretary, or the agent’s staff- who could do this stuff for them? Are they both super paranoid about someone working for them and seeing things they don’t want shared?

You’d not expect anyone to be fine tooth combing perhaps?

@Fandango52 It reads so very oddly that I wonder if drafted by AI, polished with a giant emotive dollop of personal agenda by someone very involved or psychologically entangled.

Could we add a wall falling down? That shed is so full of doubts that the walls must be bulging at the seams.

Maybe. But sometimes I post specifically for my business and I often muck it up by leaving something in the photo like a duster or fingerprints on a mirror or something (🤦‍♀️😆) and then I don’t post them, I either redo or go without. And they’re bound to have a massive following and far more scrutiny than me, wouldn’t someone have said to them make sure your SM is squeaky-clean because someone will spot it if it’s not!?

It looks like a case for a drone maybe. Someone close to them was employed as a drone pilot in Cornwall.

I think it’s a bottle of water at the back (in front of something dark) and a rucksack lying down in front on top of misc kit. The pile doesn’t look quite like boxes to me.

and yes you’re right about apples, I was thinking of a different tree.

I do love the image of a Shed of Doubt.
In fact I love it so much that I asked ChatGPT to draw me one but it said it was busy. So I drew one instead. Apologies to anyone with actual drawing abilities.

Wonderful, thank you !!! Perhaps a little small to accommodate 11 threads though!

When AI has a minute maybe it can creat a giant shed for us all and a special luxe suite for Chloe, with an expression not unlike Hmm

I didn't know that but a few years ago he chased someone down the road - they were flying a drone over his property, said to be trying to get a bikini shot of Judy .....?

A drive by scolding issued to @Cornflowerz55 for @'ing that poster. That is against the T&Cs of these threads.

They are not the most careful or tech savvy & until very recently they’d ‘got away with it’. The rucksacks sort of cover the cases & who’d zoom in? Possibly focus was on the location / where they’re supposed to be?
