There was one time that i was 9 stone. This year i am the heaviest i have ever been.

Every week for that last year i have been thinking that i must lose weight, and i have been trying every diet , and thinking about food all the time.

I was so stressed from it all that i decided to give myself and not think about dieting for one month.

I was just thinking this month, I quite emjoy being fat. Im not morbidly obese, i am fat.

I feel nice and warm and cozy

When i was thin, i rememember feeling cold and having low energy a lot.

Has anyone else felt the same?

Quite possibly because no scientific evidence for it

and it’s your opinion

I don’t know why I have never googled this. Perhaps because I have been taken in by the narrative that fat people are to blame but I just googled and there is quite a lot of evidence based research to prove this “opinion”. The weight loss meds wouldn’t exist without scientists pursuing this idea.

I meant regarding your clarification you aren’t a scientist

well I did say so there was no need for your comment.

Yes
You can find “evidence” when you google of pretty much anything and everything you can possibly think of

as ever, the devil is in the details. Namely the source of any such “evidence”

Peer reviewed scientific papers.

Peer reviewed scientific papers.

No link to what piqued your interest?

Not unreasonable...But I think it's all relative as to why someone is 'fat'

I nearly died during childbirth and have had complications.
It's taken nearly 2 years to accept my new body, whilst very VERY slowly losing weight and regaining my health (whilst going back to work and being a Mum!).

If I was this weight before that happened, there would be no excuse for it. I would just be fat out of laziness.

But because there's reasons behind my current weight, it's helped me make more sense of it and acceptance of it.

For me, the weight will come off to some degree eventually, but due to my health issues post baby, I'm unlikely to be a size 10/12 again. So I guess in a way I do need to learn to be 'happy and fat' as I feel I'll always be at least somewhat bigger than I once was.

Eat well, stay as active as you can and keep your brain busy, that's important!

Really? Quite a lot of “evidence” to prove your theory? Where? @PopeJoan2

Diet is a huge part of type 2 diabetes - sugary drinks refined carbs etc. Weight is a risk factor for insulin resistance

the diet that causes diabetes will (very) often go hand in hand with weight given it is a high calorie diet. BUT you can get it without being overweight if you have the diet and don’t gain weight

what you eat and how much you exercise is incredibly important no matter what your weight is. A healthy balanced diet is the cornerstone of longevity

I exercise and eat a (mainly due to vegan DD) plant based diet. And I carry excess weight it is the balance between eating enough nutrients and to enable me to have the physical fitness I want and losing weight due to my peri menopausal metabolism! And that is one that I am looking at

i wont be taking injections though as the risks of being too thin at this age are there as much as being overweight and I won’t sacrifice healthy diet and exercise

Crikeyalmighty · 26/07/2025 17:18

@Tiswa yes the main reason I have been losing weight is because I was pre diabetic - and I’ve reversed that even though still 3 stone overweight . I’ve always ate healthily - just clearly too much of it !

I am just fed up of the constant cycle of dieting and failing

I am going to be fat and happy for the rest of the summer.

Then maybe i will try again in september.

Curledup14 · 04/10/2025 15:43
