Not really seen anyone do a thread like this so share your funny moments. This can be anything, Wether it's a guest interview that was funny say the guest said something that made the presenters laugh or a funny song the presenters did or anytihng else. Let me know what it was, and when it was

James Naughtie calling Jeremy hunt a cunt when he was Culture Secretary. Radio 4 circa 2010.

That is my favourite radio moment ever and the best Spoonerism I have ever heard. I was driving to work and I was laughing so much I had to pull over and stop.

Kudos to Jim Naughtie though, he pulled himself together pretty quickly and apologised.

TanquerayTickles · 12/11/2025 19:44

Chris Moyles again! I have listened to him for years and laughed out loud far too many times to mention, but the funniest piece of radio from him was when Noel Gallagher turned up to the breakfast show to be interviewed and he was still drunk from the night before, it was HILARIOUS! Went completely left, Chris lost all control and Noel Gallagher was waxing lyrical about how happy dogs in cars are 😂

Chris Hawkins doing ‘Names in Songs’ and cracking up makes my commute a joy.

Aintgointogoa · 12/11/2025 19:50

@KnickerlessParsons absolutely here for Terry Wogan ! Beige fireworks 🤣 Janet & John stories 😂 Every single morning he cracked me up. Sorely missed. And of course Sorry I Haven't a Clue, Just a Minute etc....too many to mention. But I don't listen to radio DJ's any more (not counting Guy Garvey 6Music and that's not for laffs)

YYURYYUCICYYUR4ME · 12/11/2025 19:54

Janet and John stories, on Terry Wogan's show. Many a commute hugely improved by laughter.

HRTQueen · 12/11/2025 20:14

Another Chris Moyles moment but not because he was funny it was when Chris Rock was completely dismissive of him because he just isn’t funny

I have always loathed CM (my boyfriend at the time listened to him) and to hear CM moaning about it highly amused me

CM is an awful sexist nasty bully can never understand the love for him

FunnyDoginLahLahLand · 12/11/2025 20:27

All Scott Mills - though he never officially had a breakfast show on radio 1 (and he's not funny on radio 2)

  • Learning how to sing Fairytale of New York in the style of Shane MacGowan on a nearly-Christmas show
  • Angry pizza guy "do you deliver/do liver"
  • Laura's diaries

Mark and Lard telling the story of a shoplifter stealing a Buzz Lightyear from Woolworths who tried to hide from police but his location was given away by Buzz Lightyear saying 'permission to engage' on repeat

daisychain01 · 12/11/2025 20:46

Nick Abbott has me in stitches (LBC).

He's a modern day Kenny Everett. So witty and zany. Would love to meet him.

does a good impression of Donald J Trump.

Vitriolinsanity · 12/11/2025 23:23

Terry Wogan interviewing Michel Roux on R2 and caning his accent.

mumofoneAloneandwell · 12/11/2025 23:29

I listen to Greg James every morning during the school

Honestly its barely funny, very geared at children, and the sound of them all laughing at themselves in the studio makes it worse

I do chuckle sometimes though

CointreauQuaint · 12/11/2025 23:30

Sometimes on breakfast…..! Scott Mills - Laura’s diary, tap end, Timmy trendy, pranks on Chappers intends bingo. All genuine lol moments 🤣

Handrearedmagpie · 12/11/2025 23:44

Local radio show "if it's your birthday today,, you share your birthday with Fish"
2nd presenter "what, all fish?"
Still laugh about it now (there was a singer called Fish years ago!)

BlueEyedBogWitch · 12/11/2025 23:45

Mark and Lard’s Missing Words Quiz. Mark played a bit of Simply Red.
’s too tight to mention. What’s the missing word?”
”Fanny.”

Wogan. All of it. I cried buckets when he left, I had to pull over.

Shaun Keaveney in the mornings on 6music. He really made me laugh. I used to like his rants when he’d kick the bin, and the Middle Aged Shout Outs.

I used to love Adam and Joe on weekend mornings on 6music, especially the songs. I still sing their Bond Theme at times,

”I want a quantum of solace,
but only a quantum.
I know you do big bags of solace,
but I don’t want ‘em…”

Frannieisnthappy · 12/11/2025 23:48

Flirt Divert was brilliant.

And Sean Keavney’s Middle Aged Shout Outs.

Fionasapples · 12/11/2025 23:58

KnickerlessParsons · 20/07/2025 16:21

Terry Wogan (RIP) used to make me laugh like a drain every morni g

Me too, the funny characters writing letters, Chuffer etc. Janet and John made me cry laughing, I always remember the first time I heard Pastor Kidneys 😂

Fionasapples · 13/11/2025 00:00

There used to be a hilarious breakfast show on Piccadilly Radio in the late 80s or early 90s, Dave Ward and James H. Reeve. They made me laugh every morning.

Okiedokie123 · 13/11/2025 00:02

Golly @MyPithyCat a thread started by you that you’ve actually commented on. That’s unusual! Are you ok? 😂

I used to love Capital Breakfast with Jordan Chris and Sian but for the last few months it's got really bad. Roman Kemp was good radio on Capital before. The times Jordan chris and Sian make me laugh at the minute is rare.

BRING BACK ROMAN

I love them! Wasn’t keen on Roman

AlwaysAFaithful · 13/11/2025 00:11

I laughed out loud at Nigel Farage being caught out on LBC. The comic timing is a delight 😁

Sir TW forever - but I was surprised how much I enjoyed Chris Evans on Radio 2. My clearest laugh out loud memory was of him asking Elton John something like ‘Jools Holland has different pianos for composing different songs; do you do the same?’ And Elton, with no hesitation, ‘facking hell, not a chance’. The pregnant pause, the half laugh, half spluttered apology and full on panic that came through the airwaves from Chris was total lolz - I remember chuckling all the way to work that day.

Negroany · 13/11/2025 00:59

Terry Wogan, Janet and John.

I like Absolute now.

magicstar1 · 13/11/2025 01:01

Mine is an old quiz show from a Liverpool presenter called Billy Butler. I must have heard it about thirty years ago and it still comes up in our house all the time. It's hilarious

DrPrunesqualer · 13/11/2025 01:08

In ye old days before the internet and mobile phones

Weekday breakfast show host went in on a Saturday and did his usual early morning show for weekday commuters going to work

As an April fools joke 🤣
Some people woke up on Saturday, put the radio on and actually went into work thinking it was a Friday.
🤣🤣🤣

Imanexcellentdrivercharliebabbit · 13/11/2025 01:10

I’ve been listening to Radio 4 comedy since I was about 12 - I’m 50 this weekend so alot of laughs.
Standouts, I suppose are some of the great series before they hit TV namely Alan Partridge, League of Gentlemen, The Mighty Boosh; and then people like Josie Lawrence , John Sessions, Armando Ianucci and Angus Deayton ,Mitchell and Webb for example. Also Dead Ringers - John Culshaw/ Kate Robbins etc

The Slide Whistle and Swanny Gazoo which are a stock part on the R4 panel show ‘I’m sorry I haven’t a clue‘ will be played at my funeral on account of the enduring laughter that set gives me week in week out for the last 38 years

if you know, you know xxx
