I'm off to watch the news on catch up.
The thing that puzzles me most in the response / rebuttal from Sally, is why did she not provide a consultant's letter dated 2013 with the diagnosis, and the 2 follow-up letters about the 2 brain scans described in the 2nd book. Those letters would end the accusations of lying about his condition. Nothing else she can provide will end the accusations, since the 2013 diagnosis and the clear brain scan following the second walk were very clearly described as facts in the books.
She has never denied stealing the money from her employer, so the "mistakes were made" confession combined with all the reporting and testimony from many people means we can be very confident she did in fact steal the money.
Stealing money from a trusting employer was disgusting, but I think it's the combination of that and the unsubstantiated health claims that make this story so fascinating and are making people determined to get to the truth.
