Mine is a cordless Dyson vacuum. Cost loads, has a poor battery, doesn’t pick up well, so overrated. Gets rave reviews - why?? My next one will be a Henry ;-) My other is overpriced, average pub/cafe grub when out as a family. Such a waste of time, money and effort. Sorry, I’m usually more upbeat…

Air Up. It’s like drinking tap water still but stood next to a rank air freshener.

My MacBook Pro is 2015, one of the early SSD ones. Often used 12 hours daily and never serviced. Best ever investment.

I have just replaced mine because some of the app updates wouldn't update. I have still got my first one and use it to stream stuff to my smart tv

It’s a total fad! I don’t think anyone uses these religiously, after the novelty has worn off.

I’ve had my Dualit toaster for 30 years. Still going strong and I haven’t even had to replace any of the elements. It’s like a trusty friend.

Namechangedfortheterfasaurs · 18/07/2025 21:02

Dyson - first mini hoover we had in our flat picked up well but the plastic ball it had instead of wheels cracked. Thought it was a one off so bought a cordless. Terrible. Didn’t pick up, battery lasted 5 minutes even when new, then terminally lost its charge.

I did love my air wrap but I gave it a rest after becoming concerned at hair shedding. I follow Dr Ophelia on Instagram and she said any form of heat styling is bad for shedding. Six months later and I have a load of new growth around my hairline. So they may be more gentle than some other heat tools but they aren’t all that gentle.

FunkyMonks · 18/07/2025 21:12

For me I would say shark hoover just useless same as Dysons we now have Henry and he’s brilliant.

Dyson airwrap was just awful for me was gutted as they look lovely but it just made my hair a frizzy mess.

however I will say that my Dyson airstrait and hairdryer are worth the money really love those two.

Hangingonthere · 18/07/2025 21:26

@Splcam
Check out Lidl's too! One of the creams they had was £1.49 and had all the ingredients of a cream that was over £50 a pot.

Mama2many73 · 18/07/2025 21:31

Shark anti hair wrap corded pet vacuum cleaner. Needed a new one, always had Dysons, NEVER had any issues. Got a very shedding dog, was advised get the shark. I have NO issues with what it picks up, assume a brand new Dyson would also do well, but I really hate it. It's cumbersome, falls over if you look at it wrong, falls over if you pull the hose slightly 'hard. The attachments are crap etc but I've got it until I need a replacement. Not sure what I'll get next time. But it won't be a shark

newrubylane · 18/07/2025 21:33

I hate my cordless Dyson too. I also bought a Joseph Joseph vegetable dicer, which wasn't super expensive but is crap.

Hotel Chocolat, Decided to buy a box for everyone as a treat for Christmas. What a disappointment.@ £14.00 + a small box.Bland tasteless & boring! We binned our box.I was so embarrassed.I should of just not bothered!

Booja booja are the best, Cadbury to hotel chocolate, hotel chocolate to booja booja far better, more expensive tho

FluffykinsTheFerociousFeralFelineFury · 18/07/2025 22:43

Every Dyson vacuum cleaner I've ever had (I've had three-when will I learn?)-overpriced, not user-friendly and tend to stop working after about two and a half years. But I am very pleased with my Eufy, even though it leaves track marks on the carpet.

Was this me?
mine died an awful death trying to clean up dog poo. It was like that bleeding robot thing that just gets slower and more depressed trying to clean itself up.

I don't know if it was you actually, but I remember seeing a video - so perhaps it was FB? I'm afraid I laughed, but it's not funny really.

I know that piece of art you're talking about! I thought it was really sad, actually :(

DiddlyCrock · 19/07/2025 23:33

Surprised by all the Dyson dislike.

I've had the Dyson hairdryer for 5+ years, heavy use including daughters and still gives great hair.

Dyson airwrap I find very clever, I can create great styles and curls using much less heat than curling tongs. Daughters love it too, we probably use it once a week each.

I'm not, MN posters hate Dyson

I love my Dyson hairdryer and straighteners. It’s only the Airwrap I’m disappointed with and don’t think is worth the money.

Cojones · 20/07/2025 18:37

@Childanddogmama I love my Velvetiser, it was bought during lockdown and I thought it would be a five-minute wonder but we still use it. We use it on non-brand hot chocolate and the world hasn’t fallen apart as they’d have you believe.

I got really upset by that robot too so I felt awful for poor eufy. I spent an hour trying to get the poo out of its wheels and container but I think then I must have drowned it. Then I felt worse!
not a good morning!

Have just bought the Gatineau Miracle Eye serum - I still have bags and shadows, no miracles worked at all 😂

Try Upcircles eye cream, I think its fantastic. It's the only eye cream that has lightened the dark shadows under my eyes.

Henry can't cope with hairs????

I'd say you must have a dud one, it's used by every office cleaner there is. My husband is a builder and uses it for sucking up plaster and brick, all sorts.

It's not my go to at home because it's so heavy but it can definitely deal with hairs

My Dad bought me a Henry pet hair vacuum for Christmas. I don't have pets, but he purchased it because my Daughter has long Ginger/red hair and her hair gets everywhere.zu find it the washing when I take it out of the machine, in the bath plug hole and inbedded in the carpet. My old hoover wouldn't pick it, I would have to go around with a dustpan and brush and agitate the carpet with the brush to collect it. Whilst the Henry pet picks up hair, it only collects in the bristles and then I pull it out.

Fubbs · 28/07/2025 17:21

Meroda colour changing foundation, primer and setting spray, although I quite like the foundation brush. The colour looks odd (to me) on my face and I end up looking so greasy after a few hours. I had such high hopes and it's an expensive way to figure out I need to focus on products that are more matte first, then worry about colour

I think I've been a bit unfair on Meroda, they do have a return policy but I was outside the time limit. And it turns out the spf I was using is a major cause of the greasy face look I was sporting!

My pans and pots set from Ourplace. Total waste of money and I feel stupid for buying into the hype

What was wrong with them?

BeQuirkyMintScroller · 01/01/2026 22:45

Smythson notebooks.

Japanese brands such as Hobonichi and Midori offer the same featherlight paper writing experience for a fraction of the cost.

mrlistersgelfbride · 01/01/2026 23:05

Our Shark vacuum cleaner has always got on my nerves. Not very powerful and always needs emptying.

Molton Brown stuff, and Lush. Irritates skin and too heavily scented.
Clinique stuff is generic over priced crap that doesn’t do what it says on the tin.

Any pub chain food. Brewers Fayre probably the worst!

I bought a Dyson hairdryer which my DD then borrowed calling it The Communal Dyson. It quickly became DD's Dyson., I lost possession
I bought the Dyson Airstrait which suited me better .

The only downside ( apart from the massive price tag) I thought the oval box would've been designed to hold everything . It doesn't .

And the plug for the Airstait is mahoosive and didn't fit the plug socket when I went on holiday with it .
