I'll go first - nothing being crispy and no texture, so slop on a plate.

Coriander

PsychoHotSauce · 09/07/2025 17:25

Lack of seasoning used in cooking. I find it irrationally disappointing!

minipie · 09/07/2025 17:27

DH being in a sulk because of something minor the DC have done.

Picky teens moaning

This, plus one of them eating with his mouth open and the other one going mental about it.

TeenToTwenties · 09/07/2025 17:27

Salted caramel sauce on a chocolate brownie when it wasn't listed on the menu description.

LancashireButterPie · 09/07/2025 17:27

Hot food on a cold plate.
Dogs/cats begging.

WaitedBlankey · 09/07/2025 17:27

Squeaky aubergine.

Aniseed flavoured foods of any type, utterly ruin a perfectly nice meal.

Overcooked and underseasoned vegetables (side-eye to MIL and her boiled veg for Christmas dinner that she must start in Septembert)

When I’m away from home:

Not having a napkin/kitchen roll for sticky lips or fingers.
I hate having to ask for this.

I hate having to eat a delicate or light pudding aka dessert with a big spoon. Eg strawberries and cream or ice cream, I like a teaspoon.

Whispers off “snobby cow!”

Totally agree with this, never get serviettes or napkins anywhere these days, always having to ask.
Never get given any bloody spoon when its a sloppy wet dish with a broth or liquid component that wont stay on a fork thank you
Spoons too big for delicate dishes as you say

I also hate hard veg and naked food with no sauce.

murasaki · 09/07/2025 17:28

Balsamic vinegar.

PeapodMcgee · 09/07/2025 17:30

Racist uncle, homophobic MIL.

If it's pork and my mum is cooking it.

Sorry mum.

Same with my mum and chicken lol. How she gets it undercooked but bone dry amazes me every time 🤣

Could be worse, pubic hair

Rosesanddaffs · 09/07/2025 17:32

Oil on everything, where they pour it over a dish and just ruin it

I found one in my fajita at a friends house 😱 I didn’t say anything but they kept asking why I wouldn’t finish my food

Eww. Why was her fanjita anywhere near the fajita?!

Coconuthotchocolate · 09/07/2025 17:36

Peppers
lack of salt

tartyflette · 09/07/2025 17:36

Overcooking of any part of the meal — vegetables, meat, rice or pasta.

Badly behaved children.

WonderingWanda · 09/07/2025 17:39

If it's too cold. Fussy children. Noisy twats in a restaurant letting kids listen to ipads at top volume with no headphones. Slow service. Rude waiting staff. Grease. Cheap meat which is too chewy. When the pasta / Rice hasn't drained properly and you get watery sauce or you bite into pasta and scald your tongue on the boiling water it's holding on to. People who bite the spoon / fork. People who chew with their mouth open. People who shovel their food. People who belch. General poor manners.

wendywoopywoo222 · 09/07/2025 17:40

Also agree mint ruins a meal and a roast where gravy has already been added.

Mingenious · 09/07/2025 17:40

Dil. Even the most minute amount of dil makes everything taste of dill, and it tastes fucking horrible!

I like to be able to taste the individual flavours of the food I’m eating!
