I'll go first - nothing being crispy and no texture, so slop on a plate.

Farting

That’s what I was going to say.

I like a good fart and don’t mind others doing it. But dropping your guts when eating your tea does ruin it.

Jackiepumpkinhead · 09/07/2025 17:08

And when restaurants sprinkle your perfectly fine meal with herbs, usually parsley or coriander. Eugh.

Having to make/cook it 🫥

Yeah this, i have just sighed loudly as I've got up to make it.

chattyness · 09/07/2025 17:09

Anything that used a tin of soup as the base of a sauce, bleurgh!!! I can always taste it, ruddy horrible.
Same goes for tomato ketchup, Worcestershire or brown sauce , freaking revolting, no thanks

SixteenClovesOfGarlic · 09/07/2025 17:10

Chilli seeds. No extra favour added, just burning sensation and a snotty nose.

Topseyt123 · 09/07/2025 17:10

Feta or goats' cheese in every vegetarian meal.

IdaGlossop · 09/07/2025 17:12

Aggressively pissed fellow diners.

I am sure im not your mum, but I had to stop cooking pork i was so bad at it !

I didn't realise that I actually quite liked pork until my then-boyfriend cooked me dinner in our early 20s and I ate it just to be polite (I had been on pork strike since mum's cooking of it in my youth) 😂

FurForksSake · 09/07/2025 17:14

Under cooked potatoes.

Tarkan · 09/07/2025 17:14

Another mint hater here. I can’t trust any lamb dishes in restaurants as even if mint isn’t mentioned on the menu, there’s a high chance it’ll be in there somewhere. I avoid cous cous and new potatoes just in case too.

The worst unexpected minted meal I had was a posh risotto in a local seafood restaurant. It was sea bass and absolutely delicious, until I tried the little bits of mango through the rice. The mango was great, the fact it had been soaked in mint was not. Even picking out the mango chunks, there were still hints of it through the rice and I could hardly touch it after that. And absolutely no mention of mint on the menu or I wouldn’t have ordered it.

A bad atmosphere

shellyleppard · 09/07/2025 17:14

Undercooked meat or burnt meat 🤢🤢🤣

PeapodMcgee · 09/07/2025 17:16

A valve / tube / artery in your beef burger.

PuppyMonkey · 09/07/2025 17:17

Gravy.

minnienono · 09/07/2025 17:19

Fresh mint here too, also raw chilli (love it cooked) and more unusually raw tomatoes (cooked in dishes are fine.)

however I some of the hates here are my favourites, most foods can be enhanced by coriander and pomegranate!

Edited

I did wonder what you meant 😂 I was imagining an annoying valve leaking air near your restaurant table!

UnNiddeRides · 09/07/2025 17:21

A son using the spatula to scrape every last atom out of the pan so it doesn’t go to waste, while the food on his plate on the table gets cold & his brother is angrily hissing ‘why the fuck doesn’t he just sit down & eat’.

gmgnts · 09/07/2025 17:21

Blood! That is, meat that is (to me) underdone and pink to the point of being red. Can't either eat at it or look at it.

Waitingfordoggo · 09/07/2025 17:23

Too salty- there’s nothing you can do about it. 😔

Riverswims · 09/07/2025 17:23

Sounds like a lot of my extended family members at the Christmas dinner table 😂🤣

Grumpy people at the table.

Talking with mouth full.

When I’m away from home:

Not having a napkin/kitchen roll for sticky lips or fingers.
I hate having to ask for this.

I hate having to eat a delicate or light pudding aka dessert with a big spoon. Eg strawberries and cream or ice cream, I like a teaspoon.

Whispers off “snobby cow!”

Having to ask for a spoon for a curry

I mean who eats it with a knife and fork?!
