It’s like drinking a bouquet of flowers 🤢

I love Earl Grey/Lady Grey tea…I prefer it loose rather than teabags.

bungobungobungo · 09/07/2025 14:17

I do! Lapsang Souchon (sp?) however, vile!

ManyATrueWord · 09/07/2025 14:19

I don't like the horrid stuff, it tastes greasy and smells flowery. But enough people do like it that I keep a box for visitors

steff13 · 09/07/2025 14:20

I love it. It's literally my favorite tea.

Ha ha, I love lapsang souchong too. My ex husband hates it and calls it 'smoky bacon tea'

So here’s a question (no offense intended)….

How old are you regular earl grey drinkers? Is it an old lady’s drink? 😂

Im thinking like Chanel no 5 vibes or Turkish delight…

Edited

I'm 50 but have been drinking EG forever. No milk, in fact all black tea drunk as black

I love it! Light, refreshing, lemony floral. Mmm 😋

WhyamIinahandcartandwherearewegoing · 09/07/2025 14:27

My DH loves the stuff. Also he is a fan of Lapsang, so a total weirdo 😂

MrsSethGecko · 09/07/2025 14:29

I really like Lapsang Souchong too

qotsa · 09/07/2025 14:33

This is like the people that say ‘anyone who loves avocados is pretending they love avocados, they taste like soap’ 😆🤣 I do love avocado but I am not a fan of earl grey fwiw. Or camomile actually, tastes like hay. 😆

Ontheedgeofit · 09/07/2025 14:33

From Wikipedia re Lapsang Souchong - What makes this funny is that we are in an industry related to pine trees and I have never ever ever thought to myself that this would be a good flavour for tea! Now Im convinced you are all weirdos.

The flavour and aroma of smoked lapsang souchong is described as containing empyreumatic notes, including wood smoke, pine resin, smoked paprika, and dried longan;

I do

junkmaail · 09/07/2025 14:38

You’re wrong.

junkmaail · 09/07/2025 14:40

My dad was a Lapsang fan. I always thought it smelled a bit like a bottom mixed with cigarettes.

HistoricalOrchard · 09/07/2025 14:41

I will drink it as I don’t hate it. Black and no sugar.
It is the worst of the teas though. But then I’m more of a coffee drinker so need a tea with depth. Earl grey is very superficial.

Okbyethen · 09/07/2025 14:42

We only drink Twinings Earl Grey! I have English Breakfast for guests though 🙂

ExquisiteSocialSkills · 09/07/2025 14:42

It’s ok. I prefer builder’s no sugar.
Lady Grey is pretty unpleasant though.

I've been drinking it since I was young. At middle-age though I've upped the old lady vibe and settled into a routine that I don't like to veer from - Earl Grey in the morning, in a fine China mug (and with oat milk 😱).

Later in the day, builders tea only. Not Earl Grey. No.

ChaToilLeam · 09/07/2025 14:44

Send me your posh tea. Earl Grey and Lapsang Souchong. Love them, you can stick your Typhoo. ☕️ 😆

saraclara · 09/07/2025 14:45

Lady Grey is my late evening drink of choice. That touch of orange is so refreshing and gives it a bit of zing.

I’m 50 and love it
My DD is 18 and loves it even more than me, so definitely not an old persons drink.

CiaoMeow · 09/07/2025 14:47

We have 1 friend who loves it, but he's the only person I've met who does!

whitewineandsun · 09/07/2025 14:48

I'm 47 and love Earl Grey tea. One,sugar and definitely no milk.

Ontheedgeofit · 09/07/2025 15:00

@junkmaail a bottom mixed with cigarettes 😂😂😂
