Name something unhygienic/disgusting but people do it

I start off:
. Holding money their mouths. It’s mainly an elderly person thing. Friends working in retail see this often. Even in mask wearing days, customers lowered masks to do this, yet denied it.
. Going to the toilet and not flushing
. Washing chicken out. People don’t realise that this can spray bacteria around. Cooking it properly will kill bacteria.
. Coughing without covering mouth. Even with Covid, people are still doing this.
. Not washing hands after using loo. In public toilets, I use hand sanitiser as seen people from certain cultures spit and mums letting their toddler DS to wee in the basins.
. On planes, people walking barefooted especially in toilets. With the quick turnaround of planes, the staff can’t clean everywhere

see I would put everything you have described as higher up on the gross/disgusting list than the things you said were! We are all different I guess

I just thought of something I do that is gross/disgusting/unhygienic and I am willing to share

I have a heavy period and if it leaks in the night (it always does, regardless of layers!), I don't change the sheets or mattress protector until my period has gone. I am not talking bloodbath levels but there is always a small patch and I just leave it to dry and sleep on that sheet again.

I assumed this was just normal tbh. Though I’m not squeamish about my own body fluids.
But then, nor do we wash the sheets every day because we had sex in them.

One of these is not like the others... (you may not be old enough?!)

what is disgusting about keeping takeaway containers? (Presuming they're wsshed??). I don't really buy takeaway (health/ food related restrictions) but I do buy things like Fage yogurt, Bol meals & wash & resume the containers over & over.

I use a washing up bowl. It protect the dishes from the stone sink, I can run the water down or empty any cups/glasses that still have a bit if liquid in the bottom.

it gets washed dried & put away after each lot of dishes are done. What on earth do you think the issue is?

The dog sleeps on my bed as did her predecessor the cat. I share food with her and kiss and hug her too (but not when she's freshly rolled in fox poo 😂)

We wear shoes through the house and I also wander in bare feet most of the time even in the garden too.
I just don't get the no outdoor shoes inside thing.If they're really muddy they get left at the door but otherwise I couldn't really care less. Also what would I do about the dog? Put shoes on her to go for a walk or special indoor dog slippers for when she comes in????

I can't stand people leaving the seat up when flushing though. Gross.

It made me laugh. Obviously I do it, and enjoy it, but on reflection is it any less gross than picking your nose and eating it. There must be all sorts of bacteria on the penises that we gobble down, and semen is vile. Does anyone actually enjoy swallowing?

That's not got anything to do with it being a bowl though, same if you used the sink.

if you wash up properly. In the right order, no you don't dump loads of dirty cricket in.

i don't 'give it a rinse', I give it a rinse under very hot water after it has come out of a clean bowl of water with detergent doing its job (holding the 'dirt' in its suds).

Leaving pee on the seats of public toilets or not flushing, and it's not all children, the last time I was at Bluewater every single cubicle in the toilets I went to had either pee on the seats or were left unflushed 😡

How can you compare vaping to smoking? Cigarette smoke smells disgusting and releases toxins. Vape vapour smells of whatever flavour it is and does not.

Friend who works in a phone shop said dropping the phone down the loo is one of the most common causes of repairs.

Always. I am capable of disinfecting my kitchen.

I got my living room laminated and really regret it. Dropped phones or tablets smash, and if I kneel down on it to clean something up it feels like kneeling on Lego. I really wish that I'd opted for a nice stripy carpet.
